Hello folks! What an amazing forum, filled with so much inspiration! I started my weight loss journey 13 days ago, and have already lost about 8 - 10 pounds. I am so tired of being overweight, and I know diets do not work long term!

I started a 12 week transformation challenge at a local gym (I am in New Zealand) and found by sharing my experience with the wider net community, it enhances my motivation to continue. I would recommend blogging or keeping an online weight loss journal, it really does keep you on the straight and narrow!

Please feel free to check in on my journey, and leave some comments. Always happy to add your blog to my blogroll if you have a good one! I update my blog daily.

If you don't come visit me on my blog, all good - I appreciate the time people have taken to tell their stories and share their insights here. Makes me feel that I am not alone on my weight loss journey!

When excuses seem ... easy

Today we had storm warnings and were meant to be staying indoors - baton down the hatches. However, despite the gale, I found a gap in the rain and did my daily walk. Even went for another later in the evening as the weather had finally broken.

It would have been so easy to make an excuse and not do the exercise today. However, weight loss is a lifestyle, and to achieve the goals I have set, I need to push through the excuses and make this lifestyle habitual.

Hope your goals are going to plan :)

14 pounds in 18 days - the weight loss journey continues

Wow, made it to Day 18. So far, I have lost 14 pounds, so not quite a pound a day! I feel better than I have in a very long time - plugged in and switched on. I am not missing the bad food I sued to eat, and I look forward (GASP!) to exercise. It really is the mind that takes the most convincing, as this is where my previous limitations have stemmed from. I remember I used to look at how fat I was and think "Holy hell, how am I ever going to lose all this." It just seemed so hard. So I procrastinated and put off doing anything. And the weight continued to creep on. Now I am doing something about it and thank god - all it took was the first few steps. Now I am getting momentum and it is not nearly as hard as I thought. The first week was hard, sure, but since then, it is all plain sailing on my way to a skinnier healthier me!

Thank you all for sharing your stories. If any of you have blogs, I would love to exchange links with mine . Keep writing and keep believing - changing your life is not as hard as it looks!
