Hey all!!
I'm Jennifer, I'm 25 now but when I was around 10 years old is when my overweight journey started.
I was the only fat one in my family and I still am. While my olders brothers and sisters turned to drugs and parties I turned to food. I think after seeing what they were going through i.e. cops, getting grounded and getting in trouble I figured food would be a good thing to occupy my time verus the drugs.
Well by 16 I was 235 pounds and friendless. I was so miserable, lonely and had NO self worth!
One day we switched to Comcast and the ironic thing is that the television which had for years helped me with my weight gain would also help me with my weight loss. I found the Exercise section on Demand one day and became obbsessed with the dance videos!
I started to do 4-5 of them a day because I didn't have a job and always loving dance it didn't feel like work to me. I would do one hour, watch t.v. and then do another one! I slowly dropped to about 185 where I hovered for a while and then dropped to 170 where I would stay stuck for years.
Ask me now and I don't know but I did manage to get to 150 3 years ago and then slowly went back up to 160. At 160 for a while I went through a bad spell and got back up to 170.
When the scale reached 173 I promised myself I would not undue ALL that work I had done and that's why I'm here.
I've been learning A LOT about nutrition and workouts and after adding interval training and changing my diet to eating 5 small meals a day I've lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks so I'm now 161.
My goal weight is 135-140.
Yesterday was an awesome day which is why I decided to start my diary on a good note!
I ate awesome all day, breakfast was 1 slice of wheat toast, small amount of PB and a banana.
Snack: 1 apple and slice of cheese
Lunch: homemade low fat chili with tons of veggies.
Snack: raw almonds
Dinner; 1/2 roasted turkey breast and sweet potato.
My day ended up being about 1200 calories with........... wait for it....................... 740 calorie WORKOUT
I felt so pumped and so today I feel pumped to!
Tonight is jogging and I can't wait!! I really don't like jogging but I know that when I'm done it'll be all worth it! Hopefully I'll be able to look back on this diary and remember my thoughts during this journey.
Quote of the day: That which is bitter to endure may be sweet to remember
