Just wanted to know what people's thoughts were on the Fat TV shows, like "biggest loser" and "OverHaul".
Now, I'm talking only from anecdotal (and advertising) position, as I can't stand these shows so much that I can't watch them (or I get angry).
I find them degrading, and whilst it's possible that they do motivate a very small percentage of the community to lose weight, I feel the main thing they serve to do is further villify those who are overweight.
Also, I hate the fact that they seem to do everything wrong, from the point of view that they drive people beyond their endurance levels, and seem to say that 'excercise is the be-all and end-all of weight loss' where us cohenites know that simply isn't true.
My jury is still out on shows like 'honey we're killing the kids', as that seems to promote lifestyle change rather than a ridiculous programme. Again, I haven't seen this one, just speaking anecdotally.
What do you all think?
Am I wrong?
