Hi everyone, just looking for some support for my lean, mean fat loss journey:) My name is Mary, l've lost 10 lbs since April 13th, it has been so difficult because of my horrific diet but l am determined to melt away my body fat this time with good nutrition and fitness. I would like to make friends with members who are seeking the same support as l am. My starting weight was 180 and now l have reached 170 lbs. My goal is to slim down with muscle tone so l don't use the scale but every two weeks and focus on body measurements instead. I've lost weight before ( l've been over weight since 16 and obese from 21-28 years old; now 38) and was absolutely unhealthy to a size zero with no muscle tone, starved my body, and couldn't lift a 20 lb dumbell at the gym to save my life. I started strength training heavy, gained weight, and really lost control of my eating and all of the pounds came rushing back until l realized that l had went from 116 pounds to 180 pounds, ouch!! This time, l train with 20 lb dumbbells and 15lb only and have changed my diet around, l don't care about the scale because my waist went down 3 inches and the scale does not budge. Hoping others can share experiences of their own with me as this is difficult to do with no one to share daily experiences with, well thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend:)

Hi Mary and welcome! We are a friendly bunch here so you'll find lots of support. What are you planning on eating to succeed with your goals? I don't like fish or chicken very much so i try to stay away from a lot of meat just because i don't make very healthy choices with them! Could live off bacon and burgers!

10lbs is a great start so well done, you should be pleased!

Hi Mary & welcome to the forum. There is great support here & you can use your diary as a place to share your thoughts as well as your diet/exercise, if you want to. We all have similar goals & have many shared experiences. I eat lots of veg & fruit, but love chicken, fish & eggs & eat limited amounts of lean red meat. I gave up fried food years ago. I rarely eat anything really bad as I feel horrible afterwards. Processed food is a killer I think. I do have a weakness for salami, olives, cheese & red wine though. Losing weight gradually is much kinder on your body & much more sustainable in the long run. I wish you well & will be here for support if you need it. Cheers, Cate.
