Fat Loss for Idiots- 11 day diet

i know we are supposed to eat and stop just before we feel full. But i feel like i either over eat a little or undereat a bit. Do you get that way 2?
 
Yeah, sometimes. If I don't feel full enough I'll just grab a couple preztels or crackers and eat till I am satisfied.

I was on this diet and achieved my 10lbs loss and been maintaining so far. I opted for the one with the beyond calories included, but have not used that plan.

With all the questions of sustainability going on, I have to say that they do specifically state that the plan can be stopped once your ideal weight's been reached. I currently follow the very general advice on eating healthier to maintain my weight.

So yes, it is a lifestyle change and not some fad diet. The online generated menu is only recommended for faster weight loss (and convenience). There are 2 alternatives offered (1 if you did not opt for beyond calories).

This is definitely not a low cal, low carb diet. How can you maintain a low of both if you do not put in numbers and simply eat till you're satisfied?

i made it through veggie day! Wow that was kind of rough. Its finals week and we're trying to sell our house so today was hard. Finally i made some grilled onions and threw it on the veggies with some cheese. That helped so much and i cant wait to weigh in on thurs!

From what I can gather from experience, with any substitution of the menu or addition in your case. It simply slows down your progress for that 11 days period.

Meaning instead of hitting the 9lbs you might be looking at 6-7lbs?

So as long you do not overdo it and negate any weight loss you've achieved.
 
i'm not that overweight to begin with so im not going to lose 10lbs right off. I'm a healthy BMI, just losing some weight for bikini season. The condiments i used were all specified as allowed on the menu. I followed the diet very strictly and am happy with my results. I have read many other users experiences and it seems the more weight you have to lose, the more sucessful your cycles are.

I am very happy with my loss so far.

I realize you only want to speak with people doing the diet and I'm not one of them, but I hope you wont mind me jumping in on the rather interesting discussion that your thread has generated :D.

For people who only have 10-20 lbs to lose, like MLucky (and me), it often does tend to be the "fad" diets that sort of get our excess weight off and back to our preferred maintenance weight. We'll then stay at that weight for a while and then the scale might creep up again 5 or 10 lbs because we got busy or lazy or started eating too much cuz we moved in with a guy or went on vacation or something, and then we realize we put on some weight and go on some little diet to get the weight off. The cycle continues as we maintain for a good while and then might put on a few again etc..and this will no doubt happen to you too as you hit your maintenance weight. At 39, I can say this has always been my pattern at least (til I put on all my excess weight on my ticker except 9 lbs of it while pregnant). And it worked great over the years. I largely maintained a healthy weight, and when things got out of hand for one reason or another and I went up 1 or 2 sizes, I woke up and got it off. So generally we dont really need a lifestyle change because our lifestyle is already geared around maintaining a relatively reasonable weight. Now sure, MLucky you're normal "maintenance" diet with the slim fast and then the unhealthy meal at night coupled with some unhealthy snacks is not great. But its how a lot of 22 year olds tend to eat. Hopefully now that you're getting on in years (he he) and out of your teens, you'll start to focus more on a healthy nutritious diet that consists of lots of fruits and veggies and other healthy foods.

Hello titan :). This is the fact about The Diet, you are definitely taking in less calories and it sounds like much less carbs. There is no way you are losing weight without this, as if deli meat combined with walnuts somehow causes you to lose 11 lbs in 11 days. No, cutting out all the "Vitamin" Water (which has about 150 calories per drink) and stopping eating when full (meaning before you've consumed too many calories) is what's causing the weight loss. There is no magic in deli meats with walnuts. I think that's all that some of the members wanted you to know. There's no mystery to losing weight on less calories, and less carbs are known to take off tons of water and fat too. Just recognize you can lose your weight on this diet or just by monitoring your calorie intake and eating a nice healthy satiating amount, but less than before and with healthier foods.

The bottom line is that if a structured diet like this is what it takes for you MLucky, then I really can't see the harm at all and I think you're doing a great job on it. Keep us posted!
 
The structured aspect is really what is doing it for me. It is keeping me away from the occasional nibble off of something bad for me which inhibited my weight loss in the past.

I know walnuts and ham are not magical but all the menu items are the closest they can be to non processed foods. They are straight forward and fresh ingredients and all the carbs are non-bread carbs. Natural carbs from fruits and veggies.

I just feel a lot healthier on the diet and have more energy. I've never ever lost 8.4 lbs in a month without starving myself and exercizing to death. In my opinion, that is way unhealthier and setting up 4 a rebound effect than this diet.

I am going on vacation with my boyfriend and his family is in town this week for graduation so i haven't been of the diet for 3 days now. I cant wait to get back on but meanwhile i want to make sure i dont put any weight back on.

I have been exercising everyday and looked for low carb, low sugar items when grocery shopping. I turned down a lot of the normal foods i buy and turned out with some delicious replacements.

Last night for dinner we ate chicken wraps with grilled garlic chicken, honey mustard, onion, celery, lettus, and tomato. They were about half the size of normal wraps because i didnt want to overeat but still very delicious. The rest of the day i had some of the items off the menu and some other healthy snacks. I made sure i didnt eat until hungry and stopped as soon as i wasnt hungry anymore. I havent gained an ounce since my diet ended 3 days ago and am not suprised i havent lost any weight.

I find that the diet proves to show an excelerated weight loss with its menu items as opposed to just eating healthy. I dont really know what calorie shifting is exactly, but its been working for me any many others that have more weight to lose have been getting even better results.

hi! I have been on this diet for 7days now. startes off 170 lbs, now i am 163! I know alot of it is water weight, but i dont care! Im fitting better in my jeans, and I look thinner in my midsection. I know this is a "quick fix" but my look at it is that if you get jump started this way, then eat healthy (which this teaches you. eat more than 3 meals a day, cut out starches) you will keep losing. I am a RN, and I wont do those diets that look harmful and unhealthy. I need to lose a few more pounds before my vacation, and I know I will!! Now, I cheated a couple of times...not really BAD but I had to eat something with my chicken sometimes so I ate veggies. then also I had a cookie one day, but I still lost weight. I had wine with my meal one night also. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a quick fix, and to anyone who wants a long term diet, read body for life...I am gonna do that when i get back from vacation. eat 4-6 times a day. cut out pasta and white flour. eat protein,DONT CUT OUT ANY ONE THING TOTALLY....like if one day you want bread, eat some whole wheat. I have learned alot in nursing....I used to weigh 240 lbs after my kids!!! good luck everyone!

I've analyzed the menu, and yes it's low in fat and carbs. My point is that it is not low calories being that calories is dependent on serving size more or less. Therefore the eating till you feel full part is not much of an indication of how many calories you have eaten.

'Full' is such a loosely defined word, and varies too widely to constitute any restriction on caloric intake.

With the constant reference to deli meat and walnuts I'm inclined to assume that you're poking fun at the diet :), there are other food available such as shrimps, fish etc.

With that said, I have to agree with MLuckyb85 that having a structured diet to follow is not really a bad thing. I for one would rather have my brain cells working on planning a romantic evening with a special someone than spraining a cerebral cortex planning out my weight loss. :smilielol5:

If you do a google search for "calorie shifting" it is dominated by a website called

I was tempted to purchase the diet plan as 90% of the feedback from independent forums suggests that it works and you lose a lot of weight..


but then i thought, what happens if it's a scam (i hate giving a single penny to scammers) & the weight loss cannot be sustained? & why should i have to pay for diet sheets, when im sure the concept is simple? A NHS dietician would surely know the concept & the information would be given freely.

A few things were concerning me. The fact that fatloss4idiots has no support email address (brought to my attention on the forums).Also someone else wrote that your membership times out in 90days (does that mean another outlay of money)..also they suck you into the idea that a diet plan is generated specifically for you (you fill in a data entry form) meaning that you will never be able to show somebody else how to DIY it for themselves. Resulting in a total dependance on the website Fatloss4idiots.

No diet is the only way, many things work and this diet apparently makes it easy for the type that wants to follow rigid rules and be told exactly how to do something. If it works for them then I would definitely without a doubt say its money well spent. I'd sure pay money if I was assured of getting rid of my remaining fat.

But I know it would never work for me because I'm not at all the type that follows rigid rules. I break my own rules every single day..I am very easy going on myself HAHA. Hence probably why I'm still 13 lbs overweight and on a plateau aside from mostly calorie shifting/zig zagging whatever you wanna call it for the past few years. I lost about 35 lbs doing that approach, just cuz some days I have more will power than others or am hungrier or busier, but it sure hasn't worked in months.

But obviously these fad type diets dont really work forever, with the proof being in the fact that it appears our OP is no longer on the plan. If she was, I bet she'd still be on here telling us about her success with the book and trying to prove the diet doubters wrong as she was before.

I just wanted to clear a few things up.

First of all, the fee is a one time thing. I dont knwo where you saw 90 days but i have had the diet for a little over 4 months now and it even says when you buy it it is guaranteed for life and they will never recharge you.

Secondly, i have shared the diet with others by having them pick the foods they want and me using my password to genrate their 11 day plan. People wont share with you online because they dont want to give out their passwords. Its a website (not a book) you go to and it asks for a password. I dont know if this comes in book format but the diet generator is what you want.

And lastly, i have found a great forumn that is full of support and good ideas so i dont check in here much anymore. all people want to do here is put people down and call this a "fad diet" although you will be hard pressed to find negative feedback on it.

As far as my progress... my boyfriend and i have been on this diet for 4 cycles. We took a break for 2 weeks because his family came in for graduation and i took him to key west for 5 days immediatly after that. We each gained a little back on the break but have overall managed to lose about 10lbs each.
Each day we squirm about all the ice cream and candy we are missing out on but both of us love the diet overall.

I feel great on it, im upbeat and energetic. Personally, i have never stayed on a diet this long and considering my goals, 12.8lbs is an amazing weight loss. If you are looking to lose weight fast this diet may not be the soulution but it has been consistant.

The diet claims 9lbs every 11 days but in my other forumn that is only true for the very overweight people. They lose 8-10lbs and gan back a few on the cheat days, then lose another 8-10... and it goes on.

For my boyfriend and I its been about 6lbs each cycle. The first set of cheat days we went crazy and gained a lot back but have learned since then. I am planning on sticking to this diet until i reach my goal weight.

Lots of people are skeptical but i think any diet will work as long as you stick to it. For me, this is a very easy diet to stick to and i never feel sick or malnurished. I like all the food i've picked and have even found some tasty recipies for some of the combinations it gives me.

Goodluck guys, whether you try this diet or not, i hope you find the one that is right for you. This one is right for me and many others...

i do

my boyfriend and i have been taking pictures every cycle but there are only a couple pound losses for each one... the pictures dont show much unless you look really really close.

When i reach my goal weight i will post them. Right now they are just kinda embarrassing cuz we're in our underwear. :)

calorie shifting

sounds like there are some mixed feelings about this...

I think that when it comes to loosing the last 10-20 pounds FAD diets just won't do the job.

Here's what worked for me:

- eliminate what your body do not need
- eat what your body needs - foods that nourish
- steady and moderate exercise and stretching

Fad diets are great for "skimming the top" but when it comes to really slimming down to your ideal weight - proper nutrition and proper exercise really does the job and it just keeps on getting easier - and I feel AMAZING

Hi! I want to say that I actually bought Fat Loss 4 Idiots and had to refund my money. It looked like it was written by a 12 year old who barely speaks english.

Its really funny cause I actually stumbled across this website earlier today and was reading it. I however didn't pay the money for it. I am looking to lose a lot of weight and in my opinion I feel that in order to lose a good amount of weight you have to eat healthy foods [that are good for you], drink lots of water and exercise.

Anyone can lose a [larger] amount of weight in 11 days by depriving your body of what it needs [not to mention a lot of it is most likely water weight] but in order to keep the weight [off] it takes time, not 11 days.

But whatever works for you!
