Fasting should be out!

Well folks, I am going to be bucking the trend here. I am starting a long term Water Fast next week.

I am a 56 yr old male with a variety of health issues that afflict a good percentage of the population, from psoriasis to congestive heart failure and high blood pressure, from edema to gout, from carpel tunnel to the chronic boils and skin tags. I have a lot of difficulty breathing especially at bedtime where I have to be propped up, and I am overweight currently at 272 lbs. My height is 5’10â€â€. My past ailments include asthma which hasn’t bothered me for the past 20 years, sarcoidosis which had me in hospital and off work for 3 months. Oh, and throw in a couple of bouts with pneumonia and pleurisy. Other than that I am just fine.......

Why am I doing this? It is not to simply shed the weight. More important is my heart and the fact that I can’t go up a flight of stairs without being winded and in need of rest. I can’t carry out any type of physical labor or sports /activity and I am a prime candidate for a heart attack. I did what I call a mid term fast of 21 days last year and it is the improvements I saw then that makes me do this again. My doctor couldn't believe the improvement in heart function over that 21 days not to mention the weight loss.

I welcome all questions and comments...good or bad...

Thanks for your concern and comments.

I appreciate what you are saying but this is something that I really have to do. I have done a lot of research on it and found a few published studies.

One in particular got my attention as it was actually published and was conducted by a number of doctors. I don't know if I am allowed to publish links to research but:

I started the fast last night and feel fine, drinking lots of water.
