Faith's Diary

Miss Ladybug - glad you're another fruit junkie! People always look at me in a really odd way when I say I'm trying to eat less fruit, but for me it's a problem while for other people it's chocolate and cookies. I love Granny Smith apples too! Though my favourite is Braeburn :)

Bikinibound and MoonGoddess - thanks for popping in! I'll be along to your diaries shortly. We're going to rock this challenge!

Well, I was afraid to say it yesterday, but this morning the scale confirmed it - 63.0 kg! :) I think my weight fluctuates so much depending on whether or not I eat late at night. If I do, it stays in my stomach overnight and I weigh more in the morning, and vice versa if I don't. But still, 63.0 is a great result, and means I've lost 2 kg this week, which isn't bad at all.

I'm thinking about increasing my calorie allowance, because I was absolutely starving yesterday. We'll see how today goes.

Hey Faith!!! Hope your weekend is a good one!!! How many calories are you currently eating?? How many are you burning?? You might be burning to much and your body is needing the extra MOJO to get you going. I had to do the same thing recently as I found out I was burning WAY TO MANY calories and not eating enough, which also put me in a plateau status, since my body was just storing everthing I put in my mouth. Good luck on your challenge. And great job on the pounds down. GO FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree with ya, Kim. I've already told her she needs those extra calories. We'll gang up on her and make her eat them..lol:beerchug::D

Friday 31st August
Calories: 2534 (goal 1500 - 2000) :( (yes, I binged again... pancakes...)
Fruit: 10 (goal 4 portions or less) :(
Sugar: pancakes (goal low/medium GI) :(
Portions: apart from the binge, it's been fine (goal 80% full) :(
Exercise: none, as planned :)

Don't worry, Miss Ladybug and BikiniBound. Although I've "limited" myself to 1000-1500 calories, my daily average has actually been 2119  Seriously. I'm so rubbish at self-control.

And you're both totally right that I need to eat that much, because I've lost weight. So I'm going to change my calorie goal to 1500-2000. Thank you wise beings! :beating:

Saturday 1st September
Calories: 1983 (goal 1500 - 2000) :)
Fruit: 8 (goal 4 portions or less) :(
Sugar: none (goal low/medium GI) :)
Portions: good (goal 80% full) :)
Exercise: walked 30 minutes, elliptical 30 minutes, badminton 1.5 hours :)

Woohoo! Great job today.
And congrats on your weightloss!

Sunday 2nd September
Calories: 1341 (goal 1500 - 2000) :)
Fruit: 10 (goal 4 portions or less) :(
Sugar: none (goal low/medium GI) :)
Portions: good (goal 80% full) :)
Exercise: ran 10 miles in 1 hr 40 mins :)

I'm particularly pleased with the run today. I couldn't believe I ran so quickly, since I was just aiming to finish in less than 2 hours. I pretty much ran a 10-minute mile, which is great for me, especially over such a long distance.

Food was good also. I wasn't very hungry.

Guys, thanks so much for the support. It's 9:48 pm on a very tiring day, so I'm going to bed, but will visit your diaries in the morning. Have a great day everyone :)

Nice job today--although you need to eat more if you're gonna run 10miles in 100min!!! Wow, that's really great. I have a long way to go before I will be able to do that.

Sleep well, teammate. Did you drink your water? I know you got your 30min of exercise!!:D

Hey Teammate!

Congrats on your weight loss! I'm a fruit lover, too. I wanted to say hello and make sure you didn't think I backed out of the Halloween Challenge since I've been AWOL for a few days. This has been an insane weekend for me so this is a one-time copy/paste to all of our teammates. I'll get back to original posts after everyone leaves. I was in a car accident Friday evening. I'm a little sore but fine. My car will need some work, though. I spent most of Saturday getting estimates, grocery shopping and cooking for a group of friends who arrived Saturday evening from the east coast. I went for a long 1-1/2 hour bike ride yesterday morning before everyone got up, and had planned to post here after that, but they were awake when I got back.

I have some self control issues and then me-bashing issues, so I decided on some sneaky meal plans for my friends. They're in my diary so I won't rewrite here, but I'm very proud of myself !

Looking forward to 'losing' with you in the Halloween Challenge!

BB - it's interesting, I tend to eat less on the days when I exercise, and I overeat when I don't exercise. I'm sure it's supposed to be the other way round... hmm... Maybe when I exercise I'm in a "healthy mood" and don't feel like overeating.

Monday 3rd September
Calories: 2144 (goal 1500 - 2000) :(
Fruit: 8 (goal 4 portions or less) :( omg, it's like I've totally given up on restricting fruit...
Sugar: caramel (goal low/medium GI) :(
Portions: good (goal 80% full) :)
Exercise: did some speedwork and walking, total 35 minutes :)

Today (Tuesday) is going to be much better.

I'm going to do some more speedwork with my little friend. She's at high school and her mother asked me to take her training. At high school their longest run is 1500m, so she can't run for very long. It's fine with me because I get to work on my speed without getting tired out.

In the afternoon I'll be playing badminton with some friends. We'll play for 2 hours but it's a fun bunch so I don't know how much exercise I'll actually get!! I'm looking forward to it though :)

Tuesday 4th September
Calories: 1649 (goal 1500 - 2000) :)
Fruit: 12 (goal 4 portions or less) :(
Sugar: none (goal low/medium GI) :)
Portions: good (goal 80% full) :)
Exercise: ran 30 minutes easy, played 2 hours of badminton :)

Is that what it is?? I'm the same way! I think some of the hunger I feel is really something else my body needs disguised. Like I need water but I will crave a cookie or something. Maybe its the endorphins from working out that kills the cravings.

Anyway great work! good luck with the training. I'm hoping to get some treadmill time in tonight.

:beerchug: Guzzle that water down! :)

Afternoon Faith!! Your doing a FABULOUS job my friend, keep up the great work! :rotflmao: I'll check by again later and see what's going on. Have a great day!

Hello everyone.

I had 3 bad days, and somehow gained back all the weight I had lost (4 lb). Currently I feel terrible, but I'm trying to work myself back into a positive mindset. Deep breath, start again; that sort of thing. Please don't laugh at me as I revise my goals yet again.

Plan
Calories: under 2000
Fruit: 3 different pieces (1 piece = e.g. 1 apple, 2 tangerines, 1/2 grapefruit)
Junk food: special occasions only
Exercise: at least 30 mins

*sigh*

Why is this so hard?

Saturday 8th September
Calories: 1519 (aim under 2000) :)
Fruit: apple, peach, 2 tangerines (aim 3 different pieces) :)
Junk food: none (aim special occasions only) :)
Exercise: 30 min walking, 1 hr 30 min badminton (aim at least 30 mins) :)

Finally, a good day. It'll take a while to get rid of those 4 lb though.

:)

I think this is b/c exercise is actually a bit of an appetite depressant. It doesn't surprise me at all that you feel like that. So all the more reason to get out and exercise regularly. Don't worry about the 4lbs. I gained 3.5 last week and am already back down to my lowest weight. A lot of it could be water or glycogen. I don't know why you try so hard to restrict your fruit. It's low-cal and good fro you. Unless you're trying to do low-carb, I don't see a need for restriction. Keep the faith!! (pun intended..lol);)
