your doing good keep up the great work!!

Okay, so I was good yesterday! =) Well, pretty good. Basically I had 3 pieces of toast... and then vegetables alllllll day. And then a nutrigrain bar for a snack at work. The 'eat nothing but frozen vegetables' diet is a bit boring. I didn't end up getting any exercise though. I was so tired when I came home.

Saturday 7/30/05

Exercise (planned):
45 minutes DDR
30 pushups
50 situps
lots of walking/housecleaning
check

Calories:

Breakfast
2 slices french toast w/low cal syrup____________400
1 20 oz burnt coffee from gas station____________40

General plan (lunch)
salad w/ chicken in it
some sort of fruit
Edit: a medium ice cream cone :( _____________400

General plan (dinner)
fish stew w/ breadstick
Edit: a cup of chicken enchilanda soup and small piece of unbuttered bread__350ish

snacks: fruit, beef jerky?
Edit: nectarine (80), plum (40)
drinks: coffee, iced green tea no sugar, water
Edit: same, and some diet sprite

So my goal is that I should weigh 160 by Monday. I think I may have to revise that goal... we'll see. I'm not sure what I'm at right now, because I forgot to weigh myself yesterday, and I didn't want to weigh myself after eating.

Ugh, I feel like I have to do something drastic to lose weight! Okay, not like cut off a limb or anything, but it seems I've been stuck at 165 for the longest time. It's like my body's comfortable at 165 and doesn't want to lose any more weight. Well, that's no good! I'm still overweight. I think maybe I need to be more active; at my old job, I was on my feet all day, so I ate whatever I wanted and I still lost weight. And, maybe from all the running around, I was rarely ever very hungry. I think I need to make an effort to be on my feet, and to only eat when I'm actually hungry.

I'm also going to make an effort to eat every three hours or so - just a little something, no matter what. Because I'm trying to diet, I will find myself not hungry at times, and skip meals. Then, when it gets to supper, or the next morning, I'm ravenous, and I'll eat way more than I need to because I feel like I'm starving.

I guess I'll find out if I reached my goal/how close I am to my goal on Monday. Everybody have a great weekend and get out there and enjoy the weather!! :)

Edit: I did pretty well, but I don't think exchanging a chicken salad for an ice cream cone was a healthy choice!! I was really proud of myself for dinner, though. We went to the One Man Star Wars Trilogy (which was awesome!! - and I couldn't help thinking through the whole thing what good exercise it was!!) and then we went to a gelatto place. I could have got gelatto, but I went with a cup of soup and a small slice of bread. For me to turn up anything ice cream-like is pretty good. So over all, not too bad.

Dig where the gold is... unless you need some exercise.

Sunday 7/31

Exercise:

30 min DDR
jumping around on my friends trampoline for 30 minutes-ish :)

Calories:

nectarine_________________________________80
tuna salad________________________________300
plum_____________________________________40
mexican combo____________________________700??
1/2 fried ice cream_________________________400
mango___________________________________200

Grand total:______________________________1720

I think my guess of 700 is about right; I looked up all the things that went on the plate. Well, hopefully it wasn't more than that!

All right, my sister and I made an agreement that we plan to stick to: no eating out for the next two weeks. No eating out until the 14th of August. I bet this will help my diet... No Starbucks, but I can still have gas station coffee.

This may be tricky.

I have to weigh myself tomorrow. I really hope I'm still at 163 at most, and I'd be really happy with something lower... but I'll take what I can get.

My family reunion is on August 20th, so I'll set a new goal tomorrow, accordingly. I honestly think this no eating out rule will really help me. Almost every time I write down something with a lot of calories in my journal, it's something I ate at a restaurant. Should be interesting.

Oh, I found an article at Calorieking.com that I liked.

Wow mate, I love reading your diary because it shows how you are thinking things out, what you think you are doing wrong and how you want to fix it and also what you are doing right. It’s a wonderful insight. I hope you reach your goal of 160 this week.

Monday 8/1

My hope yesterday when I weighed in was 160, my goal weight for the first of August. Nope, I'm still hovering around 163. I'm really going to make an effort this month!

Exercise:
Nuttin. :(

Calories:
2 french toast 350
yogurt 100

sardines 160
1 c. mashed potatoes 120

2 c.(!!!!)ice cream 520
1 c. grapes 110
1 plum 40
_____________________________________________________________

Grand total__________________ 1400

Argh, they need to make ice cream that comes in tiny containers. Wait, they do, it's called Haagen-Dazs, and it has like 8 million calories per serving. I cannot say no to ice cream! Thank god I don't work at dairy queen. :(

Bienvenue à August

Tuesday 7/2

Thanks so much for the encouragement rosered! :) I'm not there yet, but I'll keep trying.

Exercise:

DDR 40 minutes first thing in the morning :)
50 crunches

Calories:

Breakfast:
4 pieces raisin bread.............................500
1/2 c grapes.......................................55

555, and it's only 9:30 in the morning. I woke up starving this morning (possibly because I replaced a sensible supper with two cups of ice cream! ).

I really want to make some healthy, low cal soup that I can snack on between meals, or before I eat so that I don't eat as much. Also, with the two week restaurant ban in effect  I actually have to make more of my own food.

Goals for this month:
>>no eating out til 8/14
>>mix up DDR with jogging on Tuesdays and Thursdays at least
>>take up a martial art (my sister says she'll do judo with me! :) )
>>don't eat more than two servings of anything in a day
>>find a way to do more strength training
>>hit 157 for end of August (family reunion)

This should be a challenge. I'm kind of excited. :D I'm going to check out how I'm doing with my goals every Monday (my new weigh day). I think I'll pin these on the fridge.

Edit:

Lunch:
1 c. Chinese egg soup........................... 35
crab teriyaki on veggies......................... 200
plum....................................................40

Holding at 830. I made soup! It was a really simple recipe I found at allrecipes.com, but high in sodium and msg, because I only had boullion cubes on hand. It's basically 4 cups chicken broth + 1/2 cup peas + 1 beaten egg you stir in while it's boiling. Despite the sodium, it was good. Very yummy and filling, and I could barely eat my stir fry veggies!

handful of chips...................................100

I feel like I'm forgetting something. Well, other than exercising (oops). I was supposed to jog today, and it was actually cool enough to go jogging. I'm going to get up in the morning and jog instead. Hold me to it. ;)

Haha, ghostbusters for the A/C, that's a good idea. They'd probably just tell me to get a new one! :D Umm... I don't think you really need any 'hot dancin' skillz' for DDR, because I can't dance. Kids like it too. :) I think if you can keep a beat, it's do-able. (I should be a door-to-door DDR salesman: Lose weight, feel great!)

I went to two coffee places today. It was kind of off-limits, but it wasn't technically a /restaurant/, so I don't feel too bad about it. Also, my coffee pot is broken. I should really buy a new one; it's a lot cheaper than the gas station. There's something about ready-made food/drink. Guess I'm just lazy. :D

That soup sounds good, Smiley! Plus no MSG, like the evil boullioun cubes have. I need to go shopping again, so I'll pick up some V8. Also, I'm getting low on my frozen veggies, which are kind of a diet staple. I'm even out of Italian blend which I bought on accident (not too big on the lima beans). A shopping I will go... and no ice cream this time!

Ugh lima beans eeeewwww!!! i hate em, yeah that mix i get it but i wish they made it with no lima beans in it, :) so did you go jogging this morning? i love jogging in the morning(or late a night, much cooler that way)
hahaha i need a coffee machine too. right now i use a strainer with a filtre in it over a cup lol sucks!!!

Argh, no I didn't go jogging this morning! But I'm glad you asked, Smiley. :) Peer pressure!! Blargh... I did play DDR for a half an hour, but I plan on jogging after work, when it's nice and cool out. Plus, then I can drag my sister along for company (I'm a shy jogger).

Friday 8/4

Exercise:

30 minutes DDR
50 crunches
super market
(so far!!! I'm going jogging /tonight/!!)

Calories:

Breakfast:
toad in the hole............................. 145
sweet potato................................ 150

Lunch:
orange......................................... 80
chicken breast sub......................... 450
pink lady apple.............................. 90

total so far.................................. 915

Boy, walking around the super market is good exercise if you do it right. My little basket wasn't too heavy... until I added the cottage cheese... and the apples... and the frozen vegetables... and the can of v8... If I'm shopping at night, I park my basket at the end of the aisle if it's too heavy, and make trips back and forth.

I only bought $16 worth of food, but I was surprised what I got for the money. I bought grapes, cottage cheese, apples, frozen stir fry veggies, bagels, turkey franks (only 70 cals a dog), baby carrots, and v8.

I'm going to have to learn to eat healthily on a tight budget with school coming up in the fall, I guess. I'm going to be so poor! :p I still wish I had a garden for the cheap veggies.

okay....... what in the world is toad in the hole? I read it outload and my daughter thinks you found an actual toad that was hiding in a hole, with raisins and apples? LOL I know it can't be that!

Oh no you didn’t go jogging tut tut tut lol. Start jogging honey or we will make you push the wagon lol. Can you believe the price of food now days, it’s unbelievable. Your going great honey keep up the good work.

I finally went jogging! Yay! Thanks for all of the encouragement. Three cheers for peer pressure! :) Only for twentysome minutes, but at least it was something. My sister didn't come with, poo on her, because she almost ripped her toenail off at work(ow). I jogged through a sprinkler at the end b/c it was dark (oops), but it felt kind of nice.

Mostly, I'm just glad I don't have to push the wagon. :D

Heehee, nope Christina, I didn't actually corner a toad eat it for breakfast, though, come to think of it that sounds like a lot of exercise... and low carb, high protein... hmmm... Anyway, I think other people might call it something different (?) but it's just where you put a hole in a piece of bread, put it in a frying pan, and put an egg on top of the bread. I guess the yolk is the toad? I usually salt and pepper it.

Friday 8/4 version 2.0

Exercise:

jogging 20 minutes
20 pushups

Calories:

2 more apples....................................... 180
hot dog................................................ 70
carrot sticks.......................................... 35
1/2 bagel, plain..................................... 120
hotdog................................................. 70
grapes................................................. 50

Grand total......................................... 1440

Woohoo, today was a really good day. I guess all this talk of wagons really has me motivated (rosered's quite scary with those things!! :p )Though, I must admit that the sub I had earlier went against my restaurant restriction... (Subway) but!! it cost less than three dollars... so does it really count as a restaurant?? Yeah... that's what I'm thinking. Ohohoho...

Lol low carb high protein toads !!!hehehe thats what we call em too...dunno if theres another name for em...pretty tasty too.

Good for you for going jogging woohoo!!!!and through a sprinkler too, remember being kids and jumping through them cold as ice but lots of fun... :p i still do it!

This morning, I went on a peace walk for the 60 year anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bomb at Hiroshima. It was a fitting way to commemorate a terrible mistake. Over a hundred thousand people died, and thousands continue to die every year due to long-term affects of radiation exposure. I think it's important that we all consider what we can do as individuals to prevent a tragedy like that from ever happening again.

Saturday 8/6

Exercise:

1 hr walk
camping n hiking

Calories:

My diet is officially on hiatus for the day. Mostly because, we're going camping, and I know I'll burn a lot of calories, and I reaaaaaally want a brat and s'mores. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'll catch back up to that wagon tomorrow. :D

Everybody have a great weekend!
