Exercising the glutes/butt?

Hi, I need to know how you lose fat in the buttocks region - either in the gym or at home without equipment.

Thanks

while doing cardio : ( in the gym ) going on the elliptical machine, instead of striding forward, stride the opposite. it helps ur glutes.

and with the swiss ball, try leg lifts, it did wonders for me. I'm a dude, and my glutes are like pretty tight hah

You can't spot reduce fat, you can lose body fat, but you lose it everywhere. It'd be a good idea to develop a clean diet, a decent amount of cardio, and incorporate weight training like squats, lunges, leg presses, and eventually deadlifts.

:cough:

chyea.. u cant spot reduce. sorry to mis-interpret

but, to make it clear, try working out your whole body, u will then see results & doing the elliptical thing isn't bad at all, it does help. it wont be a dramatic change but it will do some good in ur butt, to a certain degree.

if u want to lose fat, u need to do a full body workout, split routines

I agree with above.. I would start a full body work-out program that includes cardio, strength training and HIIT. Don't just try to use the elliptical, use a stairclimber if possible. If thats not an option, try walking a steep incline. As far as your work-outs go, train your entire body but emphasize your legs and buttocks. Do alot of squats, jump squats, walking lunges, bridges, leg raises and planks. There are so many exercises that target the buttocks but you have to remember the importance of training the body evenly.

Some buttocks and core exercises that might help you out.

Good luck. Ben
