ExercisePhysio's Bulking diet

So I'm two days into my bulking diet and I'm already sick of eating.

Day 1 was pretty easy: (g = grams of protein)

Meal 1: 450 cal/32 g
Meal 2: 800 cal/44 g
Meal 3: pre-workout 450 cal/25 g
Meal 4: post-workout 650 cal/55 g
Meal 5: 800 cal/45 g
Meal 6: 600 cal/40 g
Meal 7: 700 cal/30 g

4450 cal 271 g protein (Calorie # bang on protein low)

Day 2 sucked though...I'm already feeling bleh and bloated and I think i overdosed on chicken yesterday...so day 2 was:

Meal 1: 450 cal/32 g
Meal 2: 700 cal/22 g
Meal 3: pre-workout 450 cal/25 g
Meal 4: post-workout 650 cal/55 g
Meal 5: Don't feel like chicken, dont feel like tuna/crab...so i eat a triple patty swiss mushroom burger at burger baron. With fries. And coke. Nice 1600 cal/80 g (estimated!)
Meal 6: 300 cal/40 g (bleh...so didn't want that protein shake)
Meal 7: McDonalds: Two double cheeseburgers...lol! 880 cal/50 g

Day 2's carnage? 5050 cal/305 g (heh).

Needless to say that after class today I'm going to Costco and buying an insane amount of lean ground beef/pork chops/ground turkey/chili.

I thought it was off-topic...because that is labelled a weight loss diary. And I have no intention of being consistent with my 'net logging of my bulking plan.

I thought people might like to see the flip side of the coin as well, it's not all it's cracked up to be! Not only is it expensive but it makes you want to sleep all the time.

Michael

steve's got a diary that he talks about all matter of things ;) diaries make you part of the community :)

this can be moved there if'n you want...

Damn man, what are your stats? What are you doing throughout the day that requires that kind of intake to gain? I'd be pissed as hell if I had to eat that much to gain!!!!

I actually put up pictures if you want to get an idea. I'm 5'11, 190, pretty small-boned.

I burn through calories like a HORSE. That and I train with more volume when bulking than most. But this is my most conscientious attempt at bulking up.

Michael

That's rough man. You and I actually have similar builds. Small boned, raging metabolisms are not fun when trying to add muscle....

No doubt. But i've never been a good bulker, but I'm going to force myself to do it. I've just hit a plateau I want to break through. And I'm going to have to lose my six-pack to get it. I wasnt willing to do that before...but I am this time.

Michael

Fuq six packs.

Cover it up, b/c in the end, the added muscle will make you happy. Trust me.

Last winter I bulked up to 210.

At that point I got soft to the point where it dictated my next cut.

For me, losing fat is much harder than gaining muscle. I'm sure it's the case with you too. That said, don't sweat the 6 pack b/c that will come back easy when you're ready.

Geez, it must be nice to have a raging metabolism. :)

I used to work at a gym and was being trained myself for a figure competition many many many years ago. Those guys I worked with had to eat amazing amounts of food to bulk up. Do you use the weight gainer shakes to help add protein and calories?

Day 3-7: Caloric Range: 3800-4600 Protein Range: 240-315
Day 3-7: Caloric Mean: 4400 Protein mean: 285

Synopsis: Eating 300 g of protein a day kicks me in the ass. However, i'm close enough that it isn't affecting me too much...and the scale is up another 1.5 lbs. I'll take it considering how dehydrated I am when I weigh-in.

Michael

AmyRB: I dont use weight gain shakes. I hate shakes as it is, so I'll stick to pure whey when I can. I eat a LOT of pasta and chicken.

Michael

Up 1.5, nice.

How do you prep your chicken? Do you eat any other meats throughout the week?

I eat primarily chicken (like 150 g a day worth) and then the rest of the protein minus whey is tuna/crab/salmon/turkey/ground beef/roast beef/ham.

So a bit of everything really just to change it up.

Michael

I'm the same exact way... I throw some pork tenderloin in there too.

I love me some chicken though!

How do you prep your chicken?

Hi Michael

I see that you have posted some good gains recently (on weighing every day club). Congratulations. You must be very pleased with your progress.

Are you eating enough cheese? I put on weight every time I eat cheese (I know - even though it doesn't make any sense - because I monitor my food intake carefully and weigh myself every day). I had to axe it from my diet - maybe you should try it!

Maybe you should contact the challenge co-ordinators and see if they will let you try to put on two pounds a week etc. and be part of those challenges. I am sure that the rules could be easily altered to accomodate you and give you some sort of competitive encouragement.

Good luck.

Best wishes
Margaret

SO what do you play? :D

Gosh boy I was sick just to look at your food intake, I feel always so full and I can't even get to the 1500 kcal, I can't imagine how is it possible for one to eat all that.

The best luck with that, I hope you can reach your goal, it seems far more difficult than dropping weight.

That's flippin gross, man. Fun times.

Believe it or not, I had to bulk once... but I didn't have the benefit of being able to just try to bulk for muscle.

Freshman year of highshcool, I had to put on 40 pounds between July to November to be able to better compete in wrestling. Everyone thinks something like that would be a ton of fun, but eating every second of the day is quite possibly the least fun thing ever.

It's great for building strength, though.
