Excess hip fat, and how to get rid of it.

Hey,

I'm an 18 year old male, about 140-50 pounds.

Recently i've been working on my abs, and i've found that the fat i've lost from my abs has revealed some excess fat on my hips.

Are there any good exercises to lose hip fat I can do without joining a gym?

I follow a (relatively) healthy diet, and exercise plenty.

Will appreciate help.

Thanks.

you cant spot reduce. you need to eat clean and get in a calorie deflict, then fat will start being burned off you're entire body and eventually, the hip fat will go too.

Yep yep. Don't let your diet be "relatively" healthy, make it 90% healthy. If your diet isn't on point, you can forget about losing bodyfat...

He's exactly right. Too lose fat you are going to need to remember one principle: "Expend more energy than you take in."

Calroies consumed < Calories expended

cardiovascular exersize in combination with a resistance training regime.

It's so true. I think for most people, cardio without proper diet and diet without adequate cardio is going to equate to a long, hard struggle to stay healthy.

I've got a friend who is trying to lose weight and who has been in that situation for several years. She's approaching losing fat only by revising her diet (she's not adding more cardio). This approach worked for her when she was younger: then, if she wanted to drop a bit of weight, she just cut back a bit on calories and the weight went away and it did so quickly; now that she's older, that isn't working and she doesn't understand why.

So what happens is that she's perpetually dieting and she's perpetually unhappy with the results. It's unfortunate, but she's sort of starting to resign herself to the fact that she's "meant to be" overweight.

I saw an article last year in a woman's magazine and the cover said something like, "Our fail-safe plan to lose weight and keep it off." I was curious about what their latest miracle approach was. The first step in the plan was: Eat less. The second step was: Exercise more. :)
