Ewww...atm, I'm a rather depressing case.

All I know is I'm living completely wrong. I'm 20 years old, 5'7, 123 lbs. I don't have much of a diet. I actually call it the "financial" diet for lack of a better word. I don't have a lot of money to throw around. I'm a starving college student trying to make house payments and college loan payments. I eat a lot of Ramen needless to say and when I do have some money, I typically buy some beer and eat out on junk food.

I'm hoping to do a 180.

But. I have no idea how. My goal is to get more tone in my body, and to look less lanky. I'm a toothpick right now. My upperbody is pathetic. I constantly get told I need to eat a sandwich.

This is what we're dealing with:

Hey dude i used to be about the same size as you...well i still am close to it :11doh: but i have changed and gotten allot more muscle definition and a little bit of mass :) i am working on it tho and trying to build ALLOT more mass. i am 135 lbs and 6.2 tall so i think that turns out that overall is was worse then you ha ha but it can be done dude it just takes allot of dedication and if you want it bad enough you will go for it :) get yourself a gym membership if you can. Like you sead that your spending what money you have on junk well a start will be put your mind to it and save that bit of money till you can get a gym membership  once thats done people on this forum will be able to help you get a sweet routine down and its just up to you to do it :) And mate you may think its not worth starting but once you have begun and start to notice the difference it makes from that point onwards you never want to stop :) and start eating healthy meals bout 5-6 a day all around the same size

Go hard :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

Thanks for the support. I actually get free gym membership. I don't like the gym because of the atmosphere. But it's free and my partner works out there, so I'm sticking it out there.

I'm not really sure what sort of diet I'm suppose to eat. I'm going to start using FitDay, and keeping a diary to see how that works for me.

search "full body workout" on this site. Try to get someone to show you stuff like squats, deadlifts, bench press, technique is important. and just start by eating more.

If you check out the nutrition forum, LV has posted a really great grocery list. A lot of the stuff in there is pretty cheap, I mean a can of tuna is like 59c where I live. Other stuff like spinach, chicken breast (you can get a big old bag of skinless boneless breast pieces for like $5), and brown/white rice is also cheap as all get-out.

Yeah what karky sed. Just eat lots of food and make sure its clean nothing bad and buying oats is a good start and there cheap as chips:)

Don't even trip on going to the gym because of the atmosphere. If anyone looks down on you just laugh. They were at the same spot you were. Anyone on here will tell you that they started out the exact same way. None of us were just born fully ripped and defined. That is great that you get a gym membership for free. Now, why not put it to use?

Beer and junk food suck your money away like nobody's business. Just think about it, you spend, oh $6 for fast food Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Saturday night you spend $12 on a nice steak. Then, add in beer for the week and that totals almost $50 a week on junk food and beer. 4 weeks a month and you are looking at almost $200 a month wasted on crap food. First things first, if you can, cut it out of your diet entirely. No matter how bad you want those twizzlers just tell yourself no. That will give you some money to go spend food on stuff that is good for you and will help you grow. Take a look at LV's food list in the nutrition section for more info. Buy yourself some Protein mix and you're good to go. Good luck man.
