Evo I got a problem!!

I screwed up my knee about a week ago at work. I did my own version of a swan dive/twist landing in a ditch and wrenching my knee. Now it has been clicking, first only when I would walk up and down the stairs, now its clicking pretty much all the time. I was thinking I should wrap it but I think there must be more I can do to help it along. This is my busy season at work and I am working 12 hour plus shifts 6 days a week. Any ideas? Thanks sugar.

Is it swollen? Is it tender to the touch anywhere? Do you have any mobility or flexibility issues due to it? Have you got it diagnosed (MRI)? Is their pain or more crepitis at the moment?

No swelling, not tender to the touch, the crepitus seems to be coming from the top portion of the patella. It aches a bit on the medial part of the joint. Mobility and flexibility are not affected, it just sounds awful. I did my graceful move on the 28th of August and today was the first day it was aching, before that it was just all noise. No MRI but I plan on seeing my doc tomorrow. Just wanted your take on it as our doc's here don't believe in recommending any useful measures other than nsaids and rest. I have an ulcer that just recently has stopped bothering me so I really don't want to get that going with a nsaid or other anti inflamatory. I haven't had a day off since I did it and I have been standing for about 10 hours of my 12 hour shifts.

Now that you've had time to see the doctor, what did they say?

The slight pain might not be a sign of anything really to worry about other than soreness from your beautiful swan dive. You don't perchance have a sports medicine doctor or physical therapist at your disposal do you?

I can tell you my knees and elbows pop and click constantly. :)

Just waiting on the results of the xrays now. The doc is thinking that I have torn the cartilage and was talking about physio or surgery. It is a little more than just popping, I have some pretty good crepitus going on. An ideas on maybe some supplements to help heal it? Or rehab to strngthen it?

I'll wait until Xrays come back before suggesting anything for rehab. In the meantime, get yourself some Zyflamend and combo of glucosamine, hyaluronic acid, and MSM.

Ok Mister got my results back about 2 hours ago. No torn cartilage, woohoo. What she is figuring is that it is a medial knee strain. So I have a script for a rub that I will have to use 4 times a day and either phyiso or I can rehab it myself. Since money is tight I choose the later. If in a week or so it doesn't feel better then I can go back and she will get me to take a week or so off. I want to try to keep going until the end of October when things slow down work wise for me so that I can make some decent money. So any thoughts on exercises that I can do. I have a few ideas but want your 2 cents before I jump to it. I am working anywhere from 12 to 18 hour days starting at a 4 am wake up, half the day I spend standing on the road etc the other half either running around or talking care of patients. So right now I need the biggest bang for my buck so to speak. Did I mention how flippin tired I am :( ok Evo thats what I got so far. Oh and the rub she perscribed, I can't take anything with it except maybe tylenol so I have to be super careful with any supp's for now.
