Evie7806's Diary

Well tonight I am going to start my diary. I went over to the faq thread about the diaries and I decided that I am going to answer those questions first and foremost. Here goes:

First off I want to say that I weigh 234lbs! Whew!! God I remember when i was like 138 and thought that was huge! I want to lose anywhere from 80-100lbs. If i lose 100 lbs i would be at 134 which would be awesome. It is going to be alot of hard work and determination but I know I have to do this.

I know that losing this much weight is going to take a while but i have to do it. Heck even if I lost 50lbs would be good but I guess if you want to do something right go for the whole shebang.

At this time I want to lose weight but first and foremost giving up fast food. I will be the first to admit that I am a fast food junkie. My weakness are double cheeseburgers from Mcdonalds. I knew that I had a problem with junk food when I told my husband I had to go to the local Walmart to get something *which i did* but first off I was compelled to stop at Mcdonalds first to get a cheeseburger.

Anyway I will watch what I am eating. My big problem is I'm not a fan of veggies; never have been. To me I would rather get my teeth pulled than eat a salad. This I know I have to get over somehow.

Also I actually picked up some diet pills called SlimQuick. I haven't decided if I am going to take them or not yet. Some people swear by diet pills some are totally against it. I would love to know what people think about this. Also I am going to start drinking more water. I drink way too much Diet Pepsi.

I hope that the people of this forum will help me in my endeavor. This is going to be so hard. I know I will get the best support from my husband. He told me when I lose the weight I want he will take me on a cruise with a new wardrobe. If that is not something to look forward to!!!

How realistic is my goal?? that is a tough one. I hope I can do this. I have to for health's sake. I'm almost 30. Im not getting any younger. I don't want to have complications later in life.

I want to start this diet as soon as possible. I would love to lose at least 30 lbs but July. My ten year reunion is sometime in July and I would love to look fabulous for that...We will see what happens.

Anyway I have spouted long enough here. I will be back tomorrow with what I have eaten for the day.

Welcome!

Hi Evie7806. Welcome to the forum. U have come to the right place!!!
I'm fairly new too & the support u get here is really awesome!
Just log in regularly. reading about others people's journeys is so inspiring. U r not alone.
I stay on the straight & narrow coz i feel that i'll let the people here down iif i don't keep to my goals. How weird is that!!!

Hi Evie,
I had a hard time giving up fast food too - but you know what, I AM SO HAPPY!!

My daughter and I are always on the run, and we were hitting fast food places 4-5 times a week.

Now, I just plan better, eat before we go places, take food with us - and it's made a huge difference.

Since last May, I've gone to Subway twice, and Carl's Jr. once - they have a grilled chicken salad for 260 calories, and instead of adding the dressing, I put salsa on it. It was delicious!

Best of luck Evie, and welcome to the WLF :)
