Establishing a goal weight..

First post, pretty cool forum. Ive always been a sucker for before and after photos. Im 6'1 and currently 215lbs. I lost 75% of my weight in the first four months of just busting my ass. I had just graduated high school and I was sick of it, by August I was down 40lbs. The last year has been slower but theres still been progress.

Heres a few of me..

Heaviest 265LBS:

240ish, horrible beard:rolleyes: :

Currently 215 lbs.

So heres the thing, im not really sure what my weight loss goal should be. Ive always aimed for 180lbs but im not sure if that will be enough or not. Should I hit the weights right now or just focus on losing the weight? I work at a very physical job and im trying to turn around my diet. Im also garunteed to be playing some sport on a daily basis 9 months out of the year.

Comments, suggestions..

Thanks

way to go

Wow 50 pounds gone. Congratulations. I can't help you with your goal weight but I definitely think you should get going on the resistance training to get feeling stronger. Way to go.

you're cute - I love the glamour don't black bar - you sure aren't a don't :) definitely a do-able :)

Behave Mal...

Your goal weigh should be where you feel comfortable -there are all sorts of chars on the weh that says what range you should be in... I'm not sure how accurate they really are -- depending on amount of muscle and your build you have.

What are your goals? Are you happy with the way you look? Do you want ripped muscles and a 6pack? Some people do, some people don't. Some women like it, some women don't! I agree with Mal, go based on how you feel. Since you have lost weight, if you are interested in muscle mass, stop thinking about the scale as much and watching how your clothes are fitting and the inches lost or gained due to muscle/fat.

Congrats on your loss thus far and good luck in the future!

your just like me... I reached my goal but I still have man boobs.. I was told muscle training excercises will define you... Its more lose skin then actual fat.

But im not sure.. I think Steve knows best.

Wow! Congrats on losing 50 lbs! Sorry, I don't have an answer for your question, it is something that I would be wondering about too. I am about your same size. I am about 6'2'' and 230lbs. I am trying to lose 30lbs right now... Just wondering how you lost all your weight? What's your secret?

-Sam:)

I traded in my life for 4-5 hours of hockey a day, cut out soda for water. I still have a pretty bad diet over all though.

Hockey is my main motivation in life, so I would rather be leaner then be big and bulky. Theres also a special girl that im trying to get the attention of. I already have hers but im to insecure to do anything about it.

I wouldn't go that far. Im more like a diamond in the rough, right now im not gonna waste my time or hers. Four or five months of hard work and I think i'll be ready and more confortable in my own skin.

Who knows though, by then she could be taken.:(

Dude, if she's really worth it, go for it now. It's never a waste of time. And if she's REALLY worth it, she'll stick with you through the next 4 or 5 months, plus some.

I would but theres a lot of obstacles in the way...

Shes 21, im 20. Shes in college, only has a year left and I start this fall. She lives about 300 miles away when shes not in school.

Oh yeah and she intimdates the **** out of me so I can barely get a word out, let alone a real conversation. Most of the time its because we're surrounded by a bunch of girls. 1 on 1 I do pretty well.

Its just meh
