Hi, I'm Erin and I'm a 22 year old student.
1. Answer these questions before starting your diary.
-- How much weight do you want to lose?
I would like to loose 149 pounds, eventually...
-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
I'm thinking July 2011, I think that calculates out to two pounds a week.
-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
Counting calories, and after I loose about 10 pounds or so me and a friend of mine are going to work out (our school just got all new work out equipment). Although
-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
My friends and family. Well I'm going to have to have a talk with my sister and my best friend, every time I try to loose weight my sis starts bringing around cupcakes and stuff, and my best friend starts eating french fries around me. I'm sure it's subconscious of them, but still obviously not helpful.
-- How realistic is your goal?
I think it's pretty realistic.
-- When will you start?
I started (again) on Friday, March 5th.
1. What is your current height and weight?
I'm 5 foot 4 (and a half! lol). And 273 pounds.
2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
115 pounds
3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
241 pounds
4. Why do you want to lose weight?
To be healthier, if I stay this weight my life is going to be shorter. I also want to be able to pick up something off the rack in the average store and fit into it.
5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
No specific event.
6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
My temptations.
7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
Food is so good, lol. And I have a habit of eating when I'm upset, and I'm an emotional person.
8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
I think finding a new outlet for my emotions is key.
9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
I've counted calories before, and lost almost 30 pounds... but my dog died, and I went off that.
10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
Not sticking with it.
[b 11. What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work?
Doing it on my own didn't work in the past, and I've read that people who have places like this to go to stick with it a lot better.
12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
Yes.
13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
No, I don't really cook... doesn't really turn out well, and I'm not all that great about counting the calories from homemade food.
14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
I eat out maybe once ever 6 months, and that's usually to celebrate a birthday, or that finals are over.
15. What are your three favorite foods?
spaghetti, pizza, and... ham/turkey sandwiches
16. What are your three favorite restaurants?
I don't care, just as long as it's not sea food.
17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
not use it as an emotional crutch, count it faithfully, and hummm I can't think of another...
18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
My waste and thighs would be much thinner.
19. Do you eat when you are not hungry?
Sometimes.
20. Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
Like where people eat a whole cake? No, I just eat to large of meals.
21. Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
No.
22. Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?
Yes!
23. Do you eat as a reward?
No.
24. Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?
Yes....
25. What do you normally eat for a meal?
Before I went back on my diet... Two sandwiches (with like twice the meat I use now), a coke zero (I love those, better than regular!), and would take the bag of chips with me and mindlessly eat in front of the tv.
26. What type of snacks do you eat?
I split my meals into four, so I don't really eat snacks. I do keep that sort of thing around for when I don't have time though... fiber one bars, and slim fast (they are both rather filling, quick).
27. In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
Right now none. But I do plan to start soon.
28. Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?
In the future I will exercise at my school gym.
29. What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
I have none.
30. What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?
I don't know, just the happiness of sticking with it, and seeing those two pounds a week add up over time.
31. Do you have rewards for certain goals?
No.
