Eric's Diary

I think that this week a lot of things in my life will start to calm down a bit, and maybe I'll be able to do a little less worry about my weight and a little more actual living, as that seems to be the best weight loss formula of all.
living is always a good thing... :)

Okay, I'm back after a four-day break!

I had trouble getting on the site yesterday, so the dark recesses of my mind may be a little fuzzy, but here goes...

Monday - nothing for breakfast, a chicken salad sandwich and a donut for lunch, followed by two pieces of breaded chicken and some beans for supper.
Tuesday - a salad for lunch, then a can of tuna for supper.
Wednesday - No breakfast, but lunch was a mushroom and bacon melt sandwich, and salad then Subway for supper. Snacked on some candies at the movies.

Tried the belt in a notch and got away with it for a few hours on Wednesday, but I don't think we're ready yet.

More to follow

Well yesterday was pizza day.

After going for four slices at lunch I wound up at my parent's for supper, with another four slices. While pizza is healthy enough, I think I've had enough of it for a while.

May try actually cooking something special for supper tonight - we'll see how it goes.

Wild weekend

Friday - I had Chinese for lunch, then nothing for supper.
Saturday - A healthy burger (with no fries) for lunch, and then this chicken sandwich thing with fries for supper.
Sunday - After a coffee and buttered bagel for breakfast I got really creative, and decided to use up all my old vegetables and make soup from scratch. With carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, corn, and a bit of garlic, boiled in chicken broth and water, it was very good, so that's what I had for lunch and dinner, and will likely finish off it off todya or tomorrow (there was quite a bit of it).

After that, things are going to get boring for a while. There won't be any fresh groceries coming in for a while now, so it's into the reserves for me.

Nothing to report on the belt as of yet, but it's been a really lousy few days, so I wasn't expecting too much.

Man getting on here every day is getting tricky!

I've got to do a better job of that, though, as yes, this does help stop the trips to McDonalds.

That being said, I'll see if I can remember what I've had to eat the last few days...

Monday - can't remember lunch, butmade two small cheese omlettes with a small side salad for supper.
Tuesday - again can't recall lunch, but went over to my friends' for Spaghetti and ground hamburger for supper. Gingerbread cookies for dessert.
Wednesday - Subway for lunch, then four slices of pizza for supper.
Thursday - Hamburger and Macaroni with bread for lunch, soup and two slices of toast for supper.

That's all for now. Been a very tough week, so hopefully things will be a little calmer next week, and we'll get the routine back a little bit more.

Okay, I'm back after another wild weekend!

Well okay, it wasn't as wild as last week-end, but still, it was interesting.

But I digress. Let's see if I can get everything from the weekend...

Friday - a very miserable day. Had Subway for lunch, but then when to Tim Hortons and had a coffee and two chocolate cookies with my afternoon work. Supper was just a couple of slices of pizza and a pop.
Saturday - lunch was just some soup, and I nibbled a few candy canes in the afternoon (we're getting ready to hand them out at the Santa Claus Parades), then made myself a salad, and a plate of what was more or less fettuccinni alfredo for supper. Was fairly heavy on the butter and cream, so I think I should not make that too often.
Sunday - lunch of corn, cold roast beef and a boiled potatoe, apple sauce for dessert. Supper was two ham sandwiches, one with cheese, apple crisp for dessert (can you tell I was at home?) Snacked on a few more candy canes later on.

On the whole, last week wasn't much fun, and this week is already working out better (I know, it's only 10:30 on Monday) so I hope that by the end of the week I'll be able to entertain the idea of the belt going in another notch. Right now it's about halfway in between the notches, so if I can just stay on the bandwagon all this week then I should be fine. Fortunately, I guess, there's no more money in my budget for eating out for the next little while, so I'll be staying in, which will be tough but we'll make it work. With any luck I'll head into the Christmas season (which must be a dieter's hell) in reasonably good condition.

MMM I love candy canes and this time of year is very hard for all us, so stay strong, stick with a plan and you should be just fine!! I always double up on exercise the weeks before the holiday, JUST IN CASE!!

GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK!
Kim

Thanks for the input everyone!

Good to know I'm not the only person who's actually reading this.

Well the good news is I was able to back off a little on the candy canes yesterday - had a few, but nowhere near as many as Sunday.

The bad news, on the other hand, was that I had to miss lunch. I did have a fairly decent supper though, fried chicken, some kidney beans and home fries with ice cream for dessert, but I really didn't need to go all day without eating - I know full well how it slows your metabolism.

With any luck I'll be going grocery shopping again in a couple of days, and I'll see if I can't get back to having something for breakfast. Personally, I haven't consciously noticed that I ate any more or less or felt any better or worse whether or not I had breakfast, but if the experts seem to agree that eating breakfast is essential to weight loss, then yes, Jeremy, you may be right, and that may help.

Again though, I'll stress this because I think it's the most important element to any successful endeavour - weightloss or otherwise. You have to feel good, about everything, about yourself, about what you're doing, about why you're doing it. As long as all that lines up, the actual pounds should come off in a snap.

Well I got lunch yesterday!

Some pasta, then a donut for dessert.
Subway for supper, and a few candy canes for snacking.

Today will be harder - I'm out of propane, so it's time to eat out. Also out of vegetables, but I think I'm going to finish up the last of my frozen fish this weekend. Maybe invite someone over.

Day 1 of no home cooking facilities was okay. Lunch was a bowl of chili and a donut, then supper was Subway. Not too bad, but I won't be able to keep in up for very long. Making my shopping list for when I go for groceries. Going to see about some fresh vegetables again, as well as downloading a few recipes.

Okay, so my last post was on Thursday, right? Let's see how much I can remember from a week-end I'd much rather forget.

Friday - Can't recall what I had for lunch, but supper was spaghetti, and it didn't really agree with me too well.
Saturday - No breakfast or lunch, then a clubhouse and fries for supper. Had toast and cheese later in the evening.
Sunday - Late breakfast of a coffee and bagel with cream cheese. Snacked on potato chips in the afternoon (my first splurge like that in months), followed by a supper of fish, mashed potatoes and canned vegetables.

Going to be making some work changes over the next little while, so I don't know what it's going to do to my weight, or the ability to make postings. I feel like utter crap right now, and I likely will for the next little while, so the postings may get a little bitter for a while, especially with Christmas coming up. But with any luck we'll be able to get things turned around.

I'm all about being bitter :) s'ok by me :D i'm plannng on staying grouchy til after new years.. :D

do what y ou can to plan your meals ahead of time nd you'll survive the next few weeks

Well I'm picking myself up from a few days of lying in the snow after falling off the bandwagon...

Got my work situation calmed down a bit - now unofficially unemployed, rather than unofficially self-employed. Perhaps only temporary, I don't know. In any case, I've been eating heavily, almost lost the hole on the belt, and have been feeling just terrible. Now that it's all getting back to normal I'm feeling a bit better, but I'll still have a long ways to go.

Last night (Tuesday) I had scrambled eggs for supper, but snacked on a pop and two chocolate bars later on. Lunch that day was Chinese take-out, with another chocolate bar for breakfast.
Monday - more chocolate on Monday night, after a supper of kidney beans in pork. Can't recall lunch.

As I said, I'm not too proud of the last few days - can't get anything really healthy into me. Maybe going grocery shopping on Friday, so I should be able to stock up on some decent stuff, maybe even get something for breakfast again. The good news is that I haven't gained a lot back over the last few days - my glacial-pace metabolism is perhaps getting a little better - but I really have to get back on track before the holidays start, as that's usually a difficult time for weight loss.
