Enough already

I enjoy this site, however I have a gripe or two, or 10.
1. Enough with the pictures shot in the bathroom! Go outside or in a gym.
2. Enough with the members who are 6ft 140 and want to lose weight. Seek help.
3. Enough with the total body workouts everyday. Talk with a Trainer and get some knowledge before you get hurt.
4. Enough with the "This is what I eat, what do you think".
5. Read the info on all the areas of this site and follow the links for specifics.
6. Where's Bubbles?
7. Give me some rep power.

and where else will you find a mirror to use? above you bed? now theres a thought for future picture posts.

hehe quality :) Was going to say myself it's the most common room for a mirror.

But +1 on the this is what I eat is it ok stuff.

Well that got some pelvics to tilt. Lost all my rep power and I'm now on a hit list by moderators world wide. At least I still have my fav site to post my enoughs. Bring it on light weights you'll be drooling on your man boobs when your my age. I'm going radical and under ground.
 
have to agree ... how can you be annoyed with anything after 18 posts ... some of the people on here are reaching 10,000.

However, i have to agree with the bathroom shots ... you don't need a mirror. put the camera anywhere and put it on a timer. Bathrooms are also a bit deceptive because of the focused light coming straight down ... makes you look like you have better abs than you really do ... unless you incorporate a side shot ... that's more telling.

How many registered users you have boss? Its several thousand. Is it safe to say that the economic disposition of this registered user base is diverse and different?

Is it safe to say the lifestyle (such as being in dorm, physical make up of the place they live, availability of mirrors, and financial disposition) are different and varied?

I believe this is a safe assumption.

Personally, I could careless where a member takes their pics. If we can get better pics with what they have available, then this can be better, of course.

If not, we work with what we have, and the point is to assist them as much as possible within what they are personally wanting to accomplish in diet and fitness.

Are you saying that the bathroom pics I have shown are deceptive in what my abs look like? :) I beg your pardon. :) My abs are so genetically huge, they would look good at any light. ;) By the way, I have shown side pics, as well :). Ever wedge small pencil in crevice between the abs, and break it?

There are several thousand registered users. Out of this registered user base, only a "fraction" post/lurk on the forum.

Is it safe to say that the economic disposition of the "fraction" that post/lurk are diverse and different? Is it safe to say the lifestyle (such as being in dorm, physical make up of the place they live, availability of mirrors, and financial disposition) are different and varied? I believe this is a safe assumption.

What is most common, is the same diet/training questions asked over and over, and repeated by new members. What most of us (whom have been around for a while tend to forget), is though the question (s) may have been asked repeatedly in the past, and not so new to us, these questions are.....fresh and new to them.

The problem tends to be between the regular posting member (who has made gallant attempts) to answer specific questions (and saying for example, "geesh" same old stuff, different person, but I will answer anyway), only to have this new member, only post once, or post just a very few times, and not come back (or come back several weeks/months later--and in some cases with the same or similar questions). While I am not speaking for myself nor any other member, the frustration in this I can understand (especially if one has spent a lot of time on answering certain questions and topics).

And, no you have not even come close to experiencing this with 18 posts. Within these 18 posts, how many new people have you....attempted to help, or steer in the right direction to get the help they may need? In addition, some do not have (nor can afford) a quality camera, and some are simply left using a dismal cell phone camera to take pics. Or in my case (having the money) just stubborn as a mule to buy one. :) Leave my friend (Mr. Stubbornness alone it is one of my partners of getting my fitness goals met, ;) )

Not everyone can afford to hire a trainer, and quite simply are left to being their own personal trainer. In addition when seeking assistance sometimes there are several things (in varying combinations) that are not in their favor: 1. Being a novice computer user in general, and not being able to navigate a forum as readily as someone else, thus posting questions, 2. Extremely poor knowledge of diet and fitness, and extremely confused on where to begin coupled with marketing and hype dogma, 3. Poor organization skills to enable a more methodical approach to assist in improving their poor knowledge. One of the main points to assist those in need, and.....to point out poor choices, and lack of effort (where and when applicable).

4. Enough with the "This is what I eat, what do you think".

I do not have a problem with this. Members should ask these questions, if they are in doubt. Some internet information on food consumption is questionable, and why not ask this question among brother and sisters in the same ballgame and fight? I would rather have some straight to the friggen point advice (hopefully) than some of the BS that is on the internet. Some are not in the position (which is a different discussion) to decipher through this BS.

Refer to 3. And, when they do not, as brother and sisters in the fight, we guide them on where to go.

Well my post sure got some diverse response world wide. However don't trash the messenger because I don't have a lot posts. What difference does that make? If I had 8000 post in two years I think I would look into getting a life. Brothers and sisters---please. If I can help or gain good advice from this site great but I'm not looking to guide the ab challenged youth of the world to fitness heaven.

Good self image is the key to starting a life of workout routines. A bathroom picture is not a good thing to look at. Simple as that. Economics, skill level etc are not relevant. Just take a picture you would be proud of no biggie.

Diet questions are great but again what are you going to do eat the same thing forever? Learn basic nutrition and go from there. Portion size is key but not mentioned often. Ask questions but educate yourself along the way.

Trainers are willing to answers freely at all gyms and online. I never mentioned hiring one. The site offers many great workouts and links-- learn how to use it. I discovered crossfit from a post and check it everyday. Don't insult the members by telling me they might not have the skills to navigate.

Full body workouts everyday are not the way to train. What's the problem? You all know this is a fact. It's real easy to over train and this is sometimes confused with plateauing. Train the right way or you will burn out stop and find that starting up again is the hardest thing to do. Injuries are sneaky. Bad technique is worse than not doing the exercise in the first place.

Ok? My 20 posts are for the most part interesting I hope. My 60 years of training should count for at least 5 reps. I mean no harm and if you take the time to hear the message you'll find they are a means of conveying positive response with helpful suggestions instead of needless trash talking.

To all new members remember this is a life long commitment and results are hard to obtain and harder to maintain. Good self image is a goal that will always be with you and pay more dividends than a six pack.

it's not easy to overtrain, it's friggin hard! I agree with no FBWs every day, but then again, I don't think a lot of people train like that.

Why are you trashing bathroom pics? it's easy to take a pic in the mirror with a cellphone, that way you can make sure you get what you want in the pic. Personally, the only place I have a mirror is in my bathroom. As long as you take the pic the same way every time, you can measure progress.

free trainers online? I don't know about that.. you'd get a lot more attention of you actually payed for a proper trainer.
 
Well, I actually agree with most of that initial list (although I'm also guilty of some of them).

I have to say though, you're 60 and asking about Bubbles? Yeah, she's hot, but over 40 years younger that you! You pervert :eek:
