Emily's Diary

Hi *wave, wave*. My good friend (Risty) pointed me this way since I'm also trying to lose weight. She said I should start a weight-loss diary and so here I am.
At my heaviest, I was about 270, which is more than I weighed when I was 9-mos pregnant (213). I weighed myself a couple days ago and I'm at 242 now. Right now, I'm not able to do any exercise since I have a chest cold and physical activity makes me cough up a lung. XP But last week, I gave up pop entirely and I've lost a pound with absolutely no exercise. I'm impressed, so I'm working my way into taking out more of the bad stuff in my diet and substituting in more veggies.
My cold is almost cleared up, I just have this silly cough left. So hopefully I'll be able to start up exercising again soon. I plan to do some dancing and play DDR. At least once a day, anyways.

MY EM'S!!!! WOO! *waves until arm falls off* Ok... now that can't be good... LOL

I'm so glad you joined the forum and made a diary! I are so proud! :D

First of all congrats on you weight loss thus far that is totally awesome. I hope your cold goes away soon so you can get to the ddr and dancing (we have to ddr soon together, so fun!)

Also, congrats on cutting out pop, I'm sure it's hard to cut out something yummy but it'll be SO good for you!

I'll be here for you every step of the way!

Hey there - let me be the first besides your friend Christina to welcome you aboard - this place is great and the best way to get support is from startign your own diary - yah you - I will gladly support you as you are one of Christina's friends - once agian welcome aboard!!!

Thanks. XD
The scale in my house has decided to become broken (really, I weighed myself 4 times in a row and it was a 30 pound range), so I have no idea how much I weigh right now.
I went on a trip on the weekend over to Vancouver Island. I think it was good for me.
My cough is (finally) gone, so I've started walking. XD

Haha, that sucks about your scale being broken. Hopefully you'll be able to get another one soon so you can keep track of things. But not having one for now is totally fine, that way, you can't get obsessed with it. I was obsessed with it for a while but now I'm not, thank goodness.

I'm glad your trip went well! I'm also glad your cough is gone and you started walking! With my surgery I can't do my cardio kickboxing so next week I'm going to walk too.

I hope you're still doing well with the whole sans pop thing!

Hello Emily! You and Risty are friends...in real life? :rotflmao: I don't sound geeky or anything. That's so great! I've tried to get my best friend to start posting on WLF, but unfortunately I haven't had any luck. Until I started posting regularly there was no way I could have imagined how invaluable this website would be. I'm really happy you're here, and congratulations on already having lost 28 pounds, and cutting out pop! That's a fantastic start, and I'm happy that the cold has passed!

Your diet plan sounds like a great idea, I never realized how important diet was to the weight loss process, until I started reading around on this forum. I still don't have a great diet, but I'm trying, and learning as I go along. It's one thing to have great intentions but it's difficult to fit it into your everyday life you know?

I wish you luck and I can't wait to see your success, I know that you're going to be able to do this. Are you going to start counting calories? I know it's a pain, but it has really been helping me...well I hope you have a good day, I'll talk to you soon! :)

Hi Emily,

Welcome to the forum! Any friend of Christina's is a friend of mine :D

Phew - what can I say? You've begun on the journey of a lifetime. Good on you for losing 28 pounds on all your own. It definitely shows you can keep your programme up.

I'm sorry about your illness - it really sucks to be ill when all you want to do is be healthy and exercise. Sometimes our bodies just don't do as we want them to.. It's a great incentive to become fitter though... :)

Good on you for kicking pop out of your life. It was really hard for me, because I got under the assumption that the no-sugar versions would help me with my weight loss, which is soooo not the case. My battle with unhealthy food is ongoing, as I suspect yours will be, but we shall be here for you should you ever need support or advice, or info, or ...whatever... I've been taking advantage of the listening ear aspect of this forum - it's really therapeutic, believe me.

So welcome again, and we look forward to hearing more about your progress. And don't forget - progress begins with one single step. So don't be overwhelmed by anything. At all. :)

Hi! Welcome to the forum!

I kicked pop out of my life a while ago, and honestly, I feel a whole lot better. It's wonderful that you've lost 28lbs on your own, I wish I could have done that! Keep up the great work, and I'm glad that you're cold is gone. One took up residence inside my chest yesterday afternoon, and it doesn't want to leave! :D

Welcome again!

Hey girl, I hope you're having a beautiful day, and that it's nice wherever you are. Talk to ya later :)

Thanks. XD
