???????? Emi's Weight Loss Diary ????????
Struggled with a lot of personal issues during the past 2 years and gained about 40lbs on top of the weight that I was already trying to lose, so, I am back on the forum, ready to lose weight again.

Starting Weight: approximately 182lbs
Goal Weight: Weigh 150lbs by my 27th birthday, which is September 29th.

Weight Loss Plan: ...currently trying to figure that out.

• Try a 1500-1800 calorie diet.
• Weight Loss Goal Per Week, 2lbs (8lbs a month, or 32 lbs by end of September).
• Focus on eating healthy foods that FILL me up and give me ENERGY
• STOP DRINKING: Beverages that have caffeine and that are high on sugar

...more to come later...

Edited to Add (ETA):

I started a June 2010 challenge. If anyone wants to join, please do so here:

Hi there!
Sounds like you have a good goal in mind! Very doable, I think. :)
Your plan sounds good too, from what you've got already!
Although, are you going to give up all caffeinated beverages? I wouldn't think it's bad to have some caffeine, especially earlier in the day, especially in tea, or unsweetened coffee! Maybe that's just my willfull self trying to justify the fact that no way could I ever go without any tea, haha.
Best of luck to you!! I look forward to seeing your progress~

LOL! Well, I know for sure that I can't have coffee. First of all, I don't really like it. Secondly, the times I have made a cup for myself, I end up feeling very sick, even if I keep myself hydrated with water afterwards.

However, the main reason I can't have coffee (nor do I want any other caffeinated drink) is because I struggle with issues of anxiety and I was told that a lot of this comes from my diet, and I know that any time I have caffeine my anxiety gets worst. So, I may not stop eating caffeine altogether because really a lot of foods have it that I do like (such as chocolate) and I don't think I could ever keep it away from my system completely. I do want to try to eliminate as much of it as possible, so that's why I'm starting with the drinks.

For now, I want to stick mostly with water and maybe some natural juices on the side if I really feel I need something of more substance, but even though I do like teas, I'm skipping them for now.

Oh, and good news! I was completely broke and now I have $75! lol So I think I'll use at least half of that to buy some really healthy foods. Otherwise, I have to make do with what I already have at home and that wouldn't do. Really, my plan for the day is to figure out what foods are inexpensive, healthy, and will fill me up.

My current list would be
Oatmeal
Cabbage (I like to make cabbage soups)
Sugar Sweetners (not sure how safe they are but my father is diabetic and uses these daily)

That's pretty much it. I need to do a lot of research today before I go shopping...

Cheap foods! I know about this, I'm a student ;)

Brown rice, potatoes, rice cakes, canned fruit (in juice, not syrup), frozen veg (awesome with brown rice), baked beans!!

Check out a few different shops to try and find the cheapest stuff!

Yep, that's what I'm going to do. I'll be going in about 2 hours, so I still have time to browse around the internet and read up on inexpensive, healthy, filling foods.

Anyway, I also found 100 foods under 100 calories, for anyone that is interested:

I figured out something that is great for my diet, job interviews! I have one in about an hour and I haven't been able to really eat anything all day long. My stomach just has a lot of butterflies! lol So I ate a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast then some fruit as a snack and I was going to have some lunch but I've had this nervous/full feeling all morning long. I think I will eat some crackers or something and then post-interview eat a lot of fruit. I know I'll have this like feeling of a weight being taken off my shoulders and that usually leads to binging so to try to bypass that, I will only allow myself to eat fruits. Those tend to fill me up rather quickly.

Anyway, today is a rather strange day, food-wise because of everything else that is happening but I haven't craved any "bad" foods all day. lol Too busy biting my nails!

Good luck on your interview. You seem rather intelligent, being that you can type and spell, and form clear thoughts...that puts you ahead of at least 60% of others (*I totally made up that statistic, it could be higher).
