Elliptical/Treadmill/Bike Club

I've been doing a hybrid treadmill/trainer, but with school ending (and kiddos home all day) I'll be making the jump to just elliptical as that's what I've got at home. On the treadmill I was easily doing 30 minutes. The trainer kicks my butt after 15 min. Still, I'm committing to doing a solid 18 minutes per day starting this Friday (will do 15 until then). I haven't really kept track of the miles because I figured with as much weight as I need to lose the primary thing was keeping my heart rate in fat-burning mode for as long as possible.

Starting today I'll check the mileage too.
 
your doing really good pinkydolly! I will try to get up to your 8 mile.....I am way under that.

yo han1.... i am surprised too. but i am sure u be able to slowly work your way up the mileage. :)

wat kinda settings do you guys use? any resistance level? does elliptical help to cover more mileague than treadmill?

Yes the elliptical does which is why i like it better - howevver pinky Im not sure abt your 8 miles b/c it takes me abt 1:25 to go 8 miles...is it miles or kms ? I made that mistake when I first startign using my elliptical...

hmm.... i not using resistance or interval. just the easiest. maybe that's why clocked in more. the distance says 14. something. Manual says that it's in kilometres so I convert online and found it's abt 8 miles. Anyhow I guess wats more imp is that i m sweating out more. I will check with the local supplier tmr.[

You are kickin some major ass then girl - it takes me like 45 mins on a good day to go 6 miles...

Friday Rest day - I dont usually have time to exercise on Fridays other than my walk in the mornings...

Saturday Treadmill -

Sunday Elliptical -

Goal for treadmill is walking/jogging for 30 mins roughly a mile or so

Goal for elliptical is 6 miles however some days i can only get in 3 for me the idea is to jsut use them daily and routinely...

i don't know it Scares me...lol

Can do 45 min on the tread no problem, but 5 min on the other and i am pooped. So i could use so motivation on this one.

I feel the same. I was shocked when I first tried it..2 minutes and poof..
I would like to join though...I joined a gym and can do awhile on treadmil..I am hoping to progress on the Elliptical.

I use my Elliptical all the time so count me in. I already write down how long and how far I go for so i'll just put this week so far and go from there. I usually workout on the weight loss setting which is like running up hills. By the end of the month I want to have done at least 60 miles.

June 11: 30 minutes, 2.78miles
June 12: 30 minutes, 2.98miles
June 13: 40 minutes, 3.94miles

crazybabie - i just started out on the elliptical last Sat. Yea it was so tough compared to a treadmill (without incline). but it's getting easier by the day. hope u get posting soon!

tusk - well done! I havn't had the courage to use the programs yet. maybe in 2 weeks time since i only started using the elliptical last week. u must be perspiring like running tap if it includes hills. :eek: mine is easy level at 40 min and end of it i am already soaked.
 
I am using the elliptical, seems you can go farther on a treadmill, faster. Atleast that ia what it seems like. I can't cover 8 miles on the elliptical in 30 min....maybe I need to work on that :)
Good job girls, great motivation. When I am on the elliptical, I feel like stopping after 10-15 min---but I keep going because I know we are challenging ourselves:)

Aaawww thanx - Ive been wanting to do this for awhile however Ive been to lazy to start using my treadmill and to commit to using my elliptical more - ha ha ha - but here we are now :):):)

Ive been doing 15 min jogging at 4.5mph + 3 cooldown for 1.27 miles, burning an average of 275 - 280 cal per session and 15 mins at 9.0 - 10.0mph + 3 cooldown in the elliptical for about 3 miles or so, burning an average of 280 - 290cal per session.

That give me an average of 560 - 570 calories burned and 4 miles or so per day. I do this AT LEAST 5 times a week, sometimes i go on sundays too, but rarely.

only 47.46 miles to go, so that means 2.96 miles a day for the rest of the month.
