Sorry I have not been updating my diary lately. I joined TOPS last night. I feel I need to be accountable to more than just my scale, now that I am not seeing my personal trainer. Their scale weighed me in at 181.25, which is way more than my scale!:angelsad2: I used to be a member with the same chapter 2 years ago and their scale always was about 5lb out from mine. I also have TOM too. I am going to take their scale as my true weight!:ack2:

It looks like I will have a better experience this time. I told them when I signed up that I did not want to be on the executive. I left on bad terms two years ago, I was the group leader. The reason I left is because it got too political and it was interfering with my weight loss. The last straw was a senior member telling me that because I was the leader, it was my responsibilty to make sure all our members left the building safely. She actually had the nerve to tell me that I was legally responsible for our members safety! This was a volunteer position. I told her to stick her agenda where the sun dont shine and never looked back. Until I heard she retired to another Province and well, I need a little incentive so I decided to pop in on the meeting and everyone welcomed me back graciously. They also let me know that things had changed for the better. This made me feel very good and I can't wait until my weigh in on Thursday. I will try to update here as often as possible too, cause I really need all the support I can get. and I really enjoy seeing everyone diary updates.

Oh, I have been sooooo sick with the flu! I have not exercised since Friday night!:angelsad2: Today I am home sick as well, Tomorrow I have to work and I'm pretty sure I will not be getting any exercise too. But, because I have been so ill, I also have have no desire to eat so I know I will be down on the scale by the end of the week. I will check in later:cheers2:
 
Yikes, Elda take care of yourself!! I hate the flu. It's HORRIBLE! Get plenty of rest and don't push yourself too much!!

My reflux started in college when I would be up until 4am and we would order pizza and wings at like 2am. Bad times. It never really got better after that and only got progressively worse. Things I have to stay away from are fried foods, beer *sob*, alcohol in general although with moderation I'm ok, and caffeine. This is not to say that I'm any GOOD at staying away from them, but they're what trigger me. I still have my coffee in the morning. It's just tradition. :p One thing that helped me a lot was eating small frequent meals and watching the fat in my diet. That makes me feel better tummy wise. Milk always made my stomach feel better just because it has antacid properties to it. But again, that's milk in moderation like with cereal for breakfast or a glass with dinner (yea I drink milk with meals. . . .I'm odd.) I also just got diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome so now I have to take ANOTHER medicine. At least this time it's kinda "natural". It's a pill with a bunch of bacteria in it, essentially. So far so good!
 
Thanks for the info Heather. I find that I am waking up with a headache every morning now and I always have dry mouth. I guess the drymouth is good cause I sure drink my water quota now!:smash:
The headache seems to go away by mid morning, but its not a good feeling waking up to it. My tummy has gotten better too. I am going to finish 2 months of Nexium then try to go without and see if my stomache has healed.
I have had the flu for a week and have not had any exercise at ALL! I am hoping to get back to the gym soon. I managed to lose weight though! yeah
According to TOPS scale i lost 1.25lb from last week.

1.25 lbs is definitely something to be proud of! I haven't gotten any formal exercise either. I need to get back into the swing of things. Because my weight is starting to go UP! Except I've had no excuse but laziness. lol. I hope your headaches start to go away soon!
 
Well, today was the first day in weeks that I have felt well enough to exercise. Boy, do I feel so much better! I did my weigh in at TOPS last night and I was up 1.5 lbs. Im not surprised as before the weigh in I had a huge spagetti dinner. I thought I would be up because I did not exercise all week and I ate like a pig!!!!:piggy: So I decided that I no longer am going to not eat dinner before I weigh in because the weigh in is at 6:15pm and the meeting doesn't start until 7pm and runs til 8pm. By the time I get home I am feeling weak! So, I figure whats 1-2lb of food? If I am down from watching my weight all week and exercising, eating dinner for every weigh in should not effect the scale right? I hope next week I will be down cause I really want to get back to my exercise routine.:ack2:

Yes, I am still here! Just been lazy in posting in my diary. The weight is still coming off, slowly!:hurray: I have still been going to TOPS and it has helped me to be accountable to a scale other than my own!:toetap05:
I have been very busy, camping and going to weddings and general summer activities with the kids. Life is good and I am very happy with my life change progress so far.

Brandy, I'm sorry that I have not been around lately, I will try to be more consistent with my posts from now on.

Today, I will be going to the gym for a cardio work out 45min. Then just playing around in the back yard with the kids for the rest of the day. Yeah, fun fun fun.

PS. has anyone ever had a Hard walled above ground pool? Are they worth it? My husband wants to buy one 15' X 24' but they are so expensive! We had one of the soft walled ones that has a inflatable ring around the top, what a waste of money that was! It kept getting holes and we took it down after 1 year! Let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks.
 
Slow and Steady wins the race! heh , heh, heh! Worked yesterday and stayed after work to have a small cardio session. I did 30 min on the Cross country Elliptical machine. Then went home to a 3 hour yard work marathon with hubby. I had to take two extra strength advil after yard work cause my back was killing me from pulling weeds!:banghead: I think i pulled a muscle in my left bicep too! Its killing me. Im debating on wether I should go to the gym today too. I have a doctors appt. tomorrow morning so I will probably miss working out tomorrow. I think I might go to the gym cause Im on a roll again and the weight is coming off slowly, but its coming off and I know its because of exercising. Till later everyone, have a great weekend Angel!

you're right slow and steady is better than too quick. it stays off that way as well. sounds like you are getting plenty of excercise. hope that bicep gets better. arms are the worst when they hurt. let your bosy recover if it gets too bad and then come back at the gym with vengence ;)

I exercised with a fury all last week and when I went to weigh in at TOPS, the scale said I gained 1lb. But today, 3 days later my weight is down to 178lb according to my Wii fit, which weighs me the same as the TOPS scale. The problem was consipation last thursday. I hadn't been drinking my water quota and thus, up at weigh in. Oh, well, at least I'll be down this thursday, it only took a week to show all the hard work I had been doing at the gym. Back to the grind.
 
It is good that your Wii Fit gives you credit for all your hard work. I hate it when you need some toilet activity and the weight just goes up compared to where it should be. I hope that keeping drinking your water stops it from happening too often for you.

The great thing about slow and steady is that STEADY weight loss is fairly encouraging because you at least see something for your efforts.

You are doing great. It is great that you keep on exercising despite a number of health problems that seem to pop up for you. The exercise does help us get the results that we want.
 
Oh, I am feeling so great now that I had my weigh in at TOPS tonight! :smilielol5: The Wii Fit was right!!!! My new weight is 175lb! I have not been this weight for over 15 years!!! I am so happy that my exercising did pay off, It should of last week for 2.5lb which is what I thought I would lose based on my exercise and food consumption, but I gained a 1lb. So this week I am down 5lb! so 2.5lb from last week which was having a siesta in my bowels, and 2.5lb from this week. Lots of water and fibre to get my system back rolling! ha

Margaret, thanks for stopping by and encouraging me. Wow! you keep losing! Great! I hope to be slim like you within 1 year! You really do inspire me especially with your illness which popped up a couple of months ago. You must look like a little sprite now! Very good!!!

I know, I know,!!!! I haven't been around for a while. We went on a RV trip the last week of August with our 3 kids, 1 dog and a new Kitten! For 10 days up thru the Canadian Rockies into Alberta to see the Dinosaurs. Visited cousings and friends in Calgary and Edmonton then came home thru Jasper National park. Was a fabulous trip, we had a great time and the animals got along better than the kids! ha I am still 175lb. I started a new job at the gym in the accounting office. I couldn't turn it down. I work mon - fri from 8:30am to 1:30pm. Then I am supposed to work out for 45min and then pick up my kids from school. So far I have been working til 2:25pm because, not only did I have to learn a new accounting process. We just installed Simply Accounting, (which I have never worked in) so we have been working furiously to get the banks reconciled so we can pay our vendors! Its been very busy couple of months for me. I am so glad that I have not put on any weight though! I have not exercised in about 2 months. Hopefully, I can get back to exercise within the next two weeks! I still go to TOPS and we are looking for a good contest if there are any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Well, I have still not exercised! I have been going to a Chiropractor for my upper back problems and so far, he has not NOT, NOT, NOT fixed me!!!:cuss: Its been about 10 adjustments and I am starting to believe that it is Quackery!:ack2:

Oh, well Im off to TOPS weigh in tonight. Hopefully, I will be down because I have really been watching what I put in my mouth because I haven't exercised.:waving:
 
Well, I didn't lose weight at my weigh in but I DIDN'T GAIN either! Yeah!!! I stayed the same. Pretty good considering that I have not exercised in a while. Hubby and I started walking 3km again on Monday. It feels good to get in that afterdinner walk again. I will be starting up cardio at the gym on Oct 6th. Now that things are running more smoothly at work I will be able to cut down on my hours and work out after work.
