Eldaweesda's Diary

Day 5

Had to work again this morning. So I had a protien Bar 30gram protien and 1 coffee and a little bit of Fibre 1 Cereal for Breakfast. Lots of water at work. Then when I got home after Dropping my middle daughter at Kindergarten I had a fibre blackberry muffin, 1 coffee and 1 orange and 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese and 10 baby carrots. For dinner I had a large spinach/mixed greens salad topped with mixed beans & feta and of course homemade Italian dressing made with Olive oil. As well I had 2 small pieces of homemade whole wheat/Ground Flaxseed Pizza topped with fresh pineapple and a little pizza salami. UMMMMMM gooooood! Then my husband and I went out for a 3km power walk/jog it took us 30min which is pretty good considering we have some doozy hills where I live! I feel so refreshed and happy today. I am so happy that my husband is on board trying to get fit as well. He is better with his diet than I am so I feel guilty if I overeat because he always sticks to the portion size. I guess that's good for me because I'm a competitive person. Tommorow i will be working out at the gym first thing.

Until tommorow!:leaving:

good to hear your hubby is going for healthier as well! its great to have a buddy especially on walks! good luck to him as well! keep it up!

have a ood workout!

Day 6

Today I did cardio at 8:30 am at the gym. My ankles were sore from my walk last night so I stayed on the elliptical today. I had to up the level to 12 from 10 though. I guess my heart is getting stronger because at level 10 I couldn't get my heart rate past 140 beats per minute. I like my heart rate to stay between 150 and 160 this way I know I'm getting a good work out. I did 45 min and then my stretching. Tonight I'm going for another 3km power walk/jog with my husband for 30 min. I have ate today

Breakfast = 1 coffee, 1 protien bar, 20 red grapes.
Lunch = 1 oatmeal/ blackberry fibre muffin, 1 coffee, 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese
Dinner will be = Turkey tacos (whole wheat) soft tacos! Yeah I can't wait for that. It's something new.

Till tommorow

PS angel - thanks for the post I'm gonna visit your diary later on tonight and see how your doing.
:waving:

Day 7

Well, today has been a good day. I had a good breakfast of cheerios, and 1 protien bar and 1 coffee. This gave me the energy for my marathon weight training session. This is what I did.

Back Leg Bosu Lung - 3 sets, of 15 ------------ 5 min. level 12 elliptical
Ball Leg Extentions - 3 sets, of 20 ------------ 5 min level 12 elliptical
Ball Oblique Crunch 6lbs, 3 sets of 20 ------------ 5 min 5.2 speed treadmill

Bosu Ball Pile Squats 15lb - 3 sets, of 15 ----------- 5 min 5.2 speed treadmill
Bosu Crunch holding 10lb - 3 sets, 20 ----------- 5 min level 12 elliptical
Plank hold for 1 min - 3 sets, 1 min ----------- 5 min 5.1 speed treadmill

In between sets I do 5 min of cardio to keep my heart rate at a high to help burn fat.

Today was my leg weight training and by the end of my workout I was drenched in sweat. It was pretty disgusting but revitalizing at the same time.

Lunch was a spartan apple, left over turkey taco filling in a whole wheat wrap and some baby carrots. The turkey tacos by the way was my first time making a low fat alternative to hamburger and it was a hit. My family absolutely loved them and so did I. It's a keeper recipe. I'm off now to walk to school (10 min up hill pushing a toddler in a stroller) to pick up my other two kids. Then after dinner tonight my husband and I plan to take another 3km power walk for 30 min. Go Blue Team!

Wow great job on all the strength training + cardio today! That would tire me out!!!!!!! I really need to start getting better with my strength training as I never "drench in sweat," just have a little falling down my face after lifting! Haha you even managed to squeeze in some working out while pushing the stroller uphill!!!!!!

Your food was also really good today. Way to go, keep it up! And get ready to kick butt in our challenge!!!!!

Thanks, I think the reason why I sweat so much is mainly because of the cardio. I like to keep my heart rate at around 85% which for me is between 160 - 170 beats per minute. I figure if I'm going to be there I should make it count. I used to work out at a more leisure pace but no weight was coming off. Now that I'm working out to almost maximum, the weight has been coming off more steady, even if I over eat occasionally. I hope when I get to my goal weight I don't have to work out so vigorously to maintain. I have been going to the same gym for 1 1/2 years now and I observe everyone around me and the ladies that have nice, fit figures are the ones that are red in the face from exertion. Hopefully, it will keep working for me, it's not as painful as it was in the beginning I guess my body is getting used to being pushed. Thanks for your post I know we are going to do well in the Challenge! Go Blue!!!!! Yeah! :)

Day 8

Today I am taking a rest from exercising, but I have been cleaning my house like a dynamo! My mother in law is coming over tonight to babysit my kids. I am going out for dinner with my husband and friends. We have not done this in years so I am very excited! I am looking forward to having a nice steak dinner ( another meal I haven't had in over 1 year) with adults and not having to worry about my kids disturbing other diners. So I will be indulging tonight but tommorow I will get back on the exercise horse and start riding again. Hope everyone has a good day on the Blue Team. Go Blue!!!!!!:seeya:

You've inspired me :D

WOW Eldaweesda!! It has really inspired me that you have changed your lifestyle to make health the center of its focus! Really cool:coolgleamA: I need to get more active as well. Keep up the good work. I am so proud of you :)

Great job!

I really enjoy reading your diary, and you are very motivated and driven!

Congratulations on you success!

:)

Hey Elda!

Thanks for coming by my journal the other day! It's great to see all the progress you're doing for yourself - you have really done some fantastic work for your health! And I'm TOTALLY impressed by your workout routine. That's fantastic!

Go Blue team!!!

Day 8

Last nights dinner was excellent. We ended up having to go to a pub instead of the Keg Steakhouse as our reservations were not secured in time for 6:30pm. The pub was very busy as a hockey game was on so they set up a table for 10 on the dance floor. That was ok, pretty loud when the game was on but we didn't mind. I thought the food would be terrible but my steak dinner was the best I've had in a very long time! My dinner was an 8 ounce sirloin, with veggies, and garlic mashed potatoes. Normally, this would be a high cal dinner at a pub but the serving size was not huge and I was happy about that because I would have ate it all if it had been normal pub size which is Monstrously Huge. It was only 1/2 cup mashed potatoes and 1/2 cup veggies and of course the 8 ounce steak. I did indulge in 3 Corona beer though, I just had to and I new that there is a sandwich in every beer but I don't care, I will just have to make sure that I don't miss any workouts this week. Today, I am still doing laundry, god! I have got to get my kids doing this, I am so sick of 10 loads of laundry! ha ha , fat chance of that eh? I am looking forward to my walk with my husband tonight after dinner. Then back to the gym tommorow, weight training appointment with my trainer, hopefully I can walk when I leave there!

Brandy aka bmohearn - Thanks for stopping by and your support.

pink clouds - Thanks for your support and interest, after all my years of yo-yo dieting I have realized that exercise is the key. Ya gotta keep moving if you wanta be losing! Of course watching what you eat is important too, but I stopped beating myself up if I binge occasionally, I can't be on strict calorie diets they don't work for me in the real world. But if I do fall off my healthy eating quest, I just get back on the wagon. You can do it too, baby steps.

daiseeangel - Thanks for stopping by and supporting me. I really love this forum. I joined because I needed support like we all do at the WLF and I really appreciate your comments it is helping me to stay focused on my goals. When I lose another 10lb I will be posting another picture in my Before and In-Between pics.

heathercb04 - Hi team mate. Thanks for the visit. We are gonna WIN!

GO BLUE!!!!!!

Bye for now everyone! Have a wonderful Sunday!:seeya:

Day 9

Today has started out terrible! First, my husband said he turned all our clocks ahead for the time change, but he didn't do my alarm clock. I had an 8:30 personal training appointment today, but because my alarm clock was 1 hour off, I got up 1 hour late sooooooo I MISSED MY APPOINTMENT! I am so angry right now! :cuss: My son is late for school and it is pouring buckets outside! This day is going to be a write off for me. I will be going for my 3 km power walk tonight, so I can bitch at my husband some more! Oh well, they say if you want something done right, Do it yourself. Lesson Learned! At least I started my day off with a good breakfast - Old fashioned Oatmeal with Blackberries, Raspberries and a dash of brown sugar YUM! and of course 2 cups of coffee today. Unfortunately, I will not be able to get to the gym today as the daycare only runs from 8-1pm and 4pm-8pm. I am looking after one of my sons friends after school today and his mother doesn't want her son to go to the gym daycare (I think she is jealous of my weight loss and is trying to sabotage me) doesn't matter though because I gave my notice to her (can't handle it anymore the boy is too challenging) March 14 is my last day looking after him!YEAH! can't wait for my homelife to get back to normal. Of course if I miss a morning workout at the gym, I will bring my children to the daycare at 4pm-5pm this time works good for me as the gym is not too busy at this time. Oh, it feels good to complain about my sad troubles lol. I will do my best to get back on track today, I think I will dust off my Windsor Pilates DVD and do that, I like Pilates and I haven't done it in over a year, Yah, that's what I'll do! Now I feel better. I will re-post the rest of my day, tonight!:ack2:

Wow, you sound like you've really got it all together--minus the alarm clock issue..lol. :) I hear ya on being able to complain here...I do it all the time. :D

Congrats on your fantastic weight loss! :hurray:

Day 10

Well, I am too afraid to get on the scale TOM came to visit and I am very crabby about that not to mention feeling the water weight!!!!! Although I had great intentions yesterday for exercise I BLEW IT!!! I have been so lethargic and cranky it ain't funny! I had to work today and I had planned on going to the gym at 4pm but after falling asleep on the couch after lunch, going to the gym was the last thing on my mind. I just wanted to curl back up and go back to sleep. Tonight my husband is dragging me out for our walk, I told him that no excuses were to be accepted. So he agreed to pull me out by my hair if he had to (just kidding, he's not a wife beater!) I am hoping that tommorow after work I will be in a better frame of mind to get to the gym at 4pm. Sorry to let all you guys down. I know I had been doing really good, but I just hit a brick wall and I am only on day 10!:banghead: The Biggest Loser U.S.A is on tonight and that really motivates me, I can't wait I find the show inspiring even though I could never work out 4 hours a day like they do on the show! They must spend all there other time sleeping and eating to keep their energy up. What kinda life would that be?

Thanks for stopping by bikinibound, I appreciate your support even though I didn't come through with my exercise plans at the start of this week! I will try to get back on track:eek:

Until tommorow, GO BLUE!:seeya:

I finally made it to post in your diary!! (I did have a little read earlier on.) Now I will see this every time I log in, so I can keep track of you properly. :) It sounds like you are doing great!! I get it about the sleepiness - it's a killer for me! How great that you can rely on your husband to keep you going with the walking at least.

GO BLUE TEAM!!!!!!

Day 11

Yeah, I made it to the gym today and did 45 min level 11 on the elliptical. I barely made it through that as I have been feeling a bit under the weather for the last few days. I've decided that I'm going to take my picture again when I reach 180lb and post it on my Before, In Between site. Every 10lb I lose I am going to put new pictures up. I can feel the difference my weight loss has made in my clothing but maybe if I see it in a picture it will motivate me more. My food intake today has been moderate. For breakfast I had a piece of homemade cracked wheat bread with peanut butter and 1 coffee and 1 orange. Lunch was 1 double hamburger from Mcdonald's. NO FRIES! I just have to have that junk food fix occasionally. I also had a bottle of water and some baby carrots. For Dinner I had homemade Bison Burger on whole wheat, broiled and homemade french fries but I did cook them in a deep fryer so my calories are probably through the roof today but it had to be done! My husband and I didn't get our walk in tonight as he is going for a jog in the morning and we just couldn't get motivated tonight to get out there in the pouring rain. Tommorow night for sure! Oh, well gotta go I have lots of reading to do. :waving:

ps Felici Thanks for stopping by! Go Blue!

Day 12

Today is the first really good day in about a week!:hurray: I got to the gym first thing and did my upper body weight training work out which was very productive in the sweat department:willy_nilly: This is what I did:

Push ups (girl as the guys would say!) 3 sets of 20
Ball Rear Delt Fly's ----------- 5lb dumbell ----- 3 sets of 15
Bosu Shoulder Extentions ------ 8lb dumbell ------ 3 sets of 15

5 min cardio on elliptical at level 11 in between sets total = 15 min

Ball Lat Extensions -------------10lb dumbell -------3 sets of 20
Bosu Bicep Curl ----------------25lb bar-------------3 sets of 20
Over Head Tricep Extensions--12lb dumbell--------3 sets of 15

5 min cardio on treadmill jogging at 5.0 mph in between sets Total = 15 min

Breakfast was the usual 1 coffee and oatmeal (raisins & spice)

I am sooooo happy that jogging on the treadmill seems to be getting less painful and my heart rate only got up to max of 166bpm which is great for fat burning!:) So I am in a great mood as when I got on the scale I weighed 180lb so I have lost 2lb this week and I thought for sure that TOM would make me gain!!!!! Tonight James and I will be going for our walk rain or shine because I am feeling a lot better and not so bla.
GO BLUE!!!!!
