Today I am starting a diary. I have never had a diary in my life so this is a first. I have battled my weight since I was 10 years old. I am a happily married mother of 3. My current weight is 185lbs and my height is 5"4. My body type is an apple. I had gestational diabetes with my last two pregnancies and I have been making a real effort since to try to live a healthier lifestyle. It has been slow, but I have not gotten back to my highest weight of 224lb, 2 years ago. I would like to get down to 135lb by October 2008. I currently have a personal trainer which I see once a week. I try to get 45 min of cardio 6 days a week and 3 days of weight training. I still eat junk food occasionally, but I don't feel I need to eliminate junk food, just moderate it. My favorite cardio workout is the elliptical and I love weight training using a ball or bosu ball. I would like to be 150lb by my birthday in June. If I reach this goal I will buy myself a new summer dress and bathing suit. I know I can reach this goal with the encouragement of family, friends and of course the WLF. if you create a ticker at tickerfactory.com -the instructions there are pretty clear.. copy and paste the v-bulletin code into the edit signature section - in your ocntrol panel...
 
i can't help you with the PM. not really used it in ages. ask in the feedback section and you might get some responses. the site has gone through update so that might be affecting it.

now the sig you have to copy the bbc code from the site and paste it into the big signiture box.

I hope this is where I am supposed to continue on with my diary. Today was a fabulous day. I worked at my part-time job "The Gym" . I work in the daycare. After work I did my 45 min cardio on the Elliptical and I feel great. Also I finally managed to insert a ticker in my signature as well as my photo. I am very excited about the challenge "Summer Solstice" that I joined yesterday. I hope everybody else it doing great today because I feel infectious!
 
I wish I worked in a gym. Every time I went by it without working out I'd feel guilty...and I'd probably be thinner. lol.
 
I was a member first and they offered me the job. I was quite surprised because I don't exactly fit the health club body type. I was 200lb when I started working there and just recently I lost 15lbs and counting. I couldn't turn the job down, the perks are just too great. In sept I started working with one of our personal trainers,(I get it 50% off perk!) and this is how I have lost 15lb. She motivates me to keep trying even if I miss a few days. I knew that there was a chance that I would stop going to the gym as I had in the past, but if I worked there it would be harder to give up on a healthy lifestyle. So far it's working and I'm glad that they offered me the job. :seeya:
 
wow! that is amazing having a job at a gym and a personal trainer for half the price!! good to hear you are doing great and feeling great. keep it up!

No more excuses for me. I have had a healthy lifestyle practically handed to me now I just have to apply it ALWAYS. I'm getting there with baby steps. With support from people like you, I can't go wrong.
 
I'm taking a day of rest today for exercise but back to the gym tommorow for weight training. Today has been great so far. Been to Costco to get some healthy snacks like yogurt and organic salad. I actually ran the buggy with my daughter and the food purchase to my van which I parked at the far end of the parking lot! It was fun and very hard as it was laden with heavy groceries and my 4 year old daughter. She thought is was great and it got my heart pumping. People around me thought I was a nut, but I don't care because it counts towards taking calories off my butt! I weighed myself today and I'm down 1lb but I'm not going to record my weight until Monday. I want to make a weigh in on Monday. I will update the weight board and the summer solstice Challenge. Good motivation today. No food cravings. Good all in all. :cool:
 
baby steps make long distances and thats the great thing about it! great job on the 1lb as well! you have certainly reclaimed teh territory. i am like you though though. i only update the ticker/sig every week because there are over a million reasons that scale decides to move.

Day 3?

So Far today has been great. Went to the gym for my weight training workout. I worked on my arms today and 5 min of cardio between sets. In all I did 15 min cardio at 10 level on Elliptical and 15 min cardio jogging at 5.2 on the treadmill. Of course this was in 5 min cardio sets , I wish I could jog for 15min in a row! That is my goal for the summer. I camp alot with my family and I need a cardio activity which keeps my heart rate high for 30min minimum and jogging fits the bill. If I tried to ride my bike fast enough to keep my heart rate high I would probably wipe out! My husband just started jogging too so I will have a exercise partner. I am really excited that he is trying to get fit as well. Also I weighed myself today and I am down to 183lb! and my waist has gone down another 1" yeah!!!!!! Now I have got to go and decide what I'm gonna feed my family for dinner? Shrimp and brown rice I think? :party:
 
Day 4

Today I had to work from 9-12am so I have not done my workout, I plan to go back at 4pm for 45min of cardio. I didn't have shrimp and rice last night either, the family wasn't into it so I suggested spagetti and of course got a hugh YEAH! So I ended up gorging on pasta and it was so good. I only had one serving but I still wanted more. I love spagetti! So today I plan to jog on the treadmill again for 15min at 5.2 speed and 30 min at level 10 on the elliptical. Hopefully, I burn off some of that yummy pasta from last night.:toetap05:
 
Day 4 - second entry

It was a good work out! I jogged on the treadmill again 3 min at 5.2 and 2 min walking at 3.1! I did this for 15 min and 30 min level 10 on the elliptical. I think the jogging is wreaking havoc on my thighs though! They are KILLING ME! Sure hope I can walk tommorow! lol Well, I'm off to hop into a scalding bath of epsom salts, hopefully it will decrease some of my muscle discomfort! Thanks for your support :hurray:
 
I envy your gym work outs. Well done! I haven't got the courage to join a gym yet, I was about to today (the one near my university) but then I saw someone I know from my hometown at it who is a bit athletic and obnoxious so I backed away.

You should get the wholegrain pasta instead of the normal variation. :) I do and it tastes great! Just a tad longer to boil, but so worth it and much healthier for you too.

Thanks for your post. Yeah I do eat ONLY whole grain everything! My kids won't eat anything but. I love it too. I like the fact that I can put the normal serving size and be full after. Of course the pig in me always wants more but now I don't go for seconds because I just feel sick if I overstuff myself. I hope you reconsider about the gym. Just make sure if you sign up that It's not a gym full of Steroid junkies. You can tell if you go for a tour and go for a tour around the time you plan to work out, then you can get a feel for the type of clientele. The gym I go to is a family fitness centre which is big on tennis. The management actually cleared out the undesirable clientele years ago because they found that it was more about strutting like a peacock for these people and not about health. And they also had trouble with aggression among the male clientele. Hopefully, you will find the right atmosphere at your local gym as this will make you more comfortable.:hurray:
