Economy

Well, we are officially ****ed. We just lost a 68 million dollar job because firms are cutting their own throats to keep busy. Since we are unwilling to do that the bottom is dropping out.

Now its just a matter of waiting for the call to go to the conference room.

Gotta love this ****. Oh well.

Sh1t i no!

Lucky that were on a huge 300 mil job ATM. Got another year or so of hard work yet i reckon. Plus were getting a few more big jobs coming. I hate this 10% paycut though!

I reckon the government should start creating more money and pay a weekly allowance to everybody who is/tries to be employed :D

And the lazy c*nt whos dont work get f**k all.

You mean we shouldn't help support those who aren't willing to put the effort in to get a job, keep that job and spend their time working instead of drinking, doing drugs or eating like whales?

How progressive of you...

no they'd rather give it to the bigshots for 30 million dollar retirement homes.

Basically, the lazy f**kers who don't even try and work or do anything with their lives who live off benefits should get f**k all.

And the people who do try to make a living and give to the economy should get some support in the form of cash :D

That way everyone would be encouraged to work or do something with themselves.

I think personally that all abled bodies should only be allowed 4-5 years of benefits in their life. And max of 2 consecutive years on them.

People who claim they can't get a job etc, stick them in the army.

Economy has gone to pot though, I'm not really directly hit myself but my family as a whole is. Parents are losing pensions, company cars, fuel cards etc and budget targets are going up, business is going down. Basically have to make more money and work harder than hard to get smaller bonus's.

should have known it was coming with all these people spending more money than they have. Thankfully the wife and I are not in debt up to our ears.

If I get the axe we'll survive. We are in good shape. I'm actually looking forward to it in some sick twisted way. More time with the kids, amp up my fitness level, save my eyes from this evil computer. etc. etc.

I say bring it! I'll find a job where the woods or water is my office.

I agree, if one can't find a job in a year you're doing something wrong or being lazy.

I was agreeing with you in my sarcastic tone. :action8:

they do that in Norway. Pay everybody who tries to get work, that is.

I'm moving to Norway :D

Should I bring my ax, Fredrik?

Axes are mandatory. I tried to get into the US with my axe once, they tried to take it away from me. I was very confused, because in Norway, you won't get into the country without an axe.. it's dangeoraus! Do people in the US really walk around with axes?

Well the economic stimulus just got approved

here is it.

• A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film. That’s a real stimulus for the rest of us!
• $650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program.
• $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship).
• $448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters. $448 M; I could build one for $50 M!
• $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters. I suggest the Salvation Army!
• $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees. They’ll probably get Toyota’s!
• $400 million for the Centers for Disease Control to screen and prevent STD's.
• $1.4 billion for rural waste disposal programs.
• $125 million for the Washington sewer system. Washington is a sewer!
• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.
• $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion.
• $75 million for "smoking cessation activities." That sure stimulates me!
• $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges. Come on!
• $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI. Another real stimulus for the rest of us!
• $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction. They can pay for their own with casino winnings!
• $500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River.
• $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas.
• $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings.
• $500 million for state and local fire stations.
• $650 million for wildland fire management on forest service lands.
• $1.2 billion for "youth activities," including youth summer job programs. What about ‘all-year’ jobs for the adults?!
• $88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service.
• $412 million for CDC buildings and property.
• $500 million for building and repairing National Institutes of Health facilities in Bethesda, Maryland.
• $160 million for "paid volunteers" at the Corporation for National and Community Service. Uh, excuse me… I don’t get ‘paid’ to volunteer!
• $5.5 million for "energy efficiency initiatives" at the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration.
• $850 million for Amtrak.
• $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint.
• $75 million to construct a "security training" facility for State Department Security officers when they can be trained at existing facilities of other agencies.
• $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems.
• $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations.

What a crock.

So really at the end of the day, there's diddly squat for 98% of the US population.

Typical government BS.

Obama is now the quintessential tool.

How bout the $15,000 tax credit for home buyers...I dig that. Man this is a great time to be buying a house...falling prices, low interest rates, and now the gov't wants to give me $15,000 tax credit...sweet.
