Drivens Diary: Quest For a Stronger, Healthier Body

Anyone that reads this, thanks for taking interest.

Where I started:
305lbs November 2005
Where I am:
279lbs March 2006

I have been doing a workout program for the past couple months and saw about a drop of twenty pounds over 3 months. But i've been stuck there for the past month and almost gave up but I have continued working towards my goal of a better body. I workout 2-3 times a week with strength training aka lifting weights. Also, doing cardio only about one day a week... kinda bad on that, I should be doing it 2-3 times a week. I also took up rock climbing which really helps me be concious of how heavy I am. Also took up eating about 4-5 times a day with about 400-500 calories per meal :p. I am 73 inches tall (6'1") with a body fat percentage of 31% which gives me about 192.5 Lean body Mass which means I need to eat about 3000 Kcals a day. Well any adive or ideas that anyone wants to give me I would love to hear them

Hey good to have you here.. I think you're doing great so far! You really should try to get those cardio workouts in.. they're what will be most effective! Are you only eating 500 calories per day?
 

That's more like it! Haha - you're on a great start! I know tons of little tips to help boost your metabolism and fat-burning potential, etc. What I find works best with me is counting calories and daily exercise. What kind of workouts do you do - foods do you eat. It's important to get in a good source of protein in with every meal - it burns more calories when your body has to break down protein. Do you drink coffee? Switch to low-cal sweeteners or low-fat milk, ofcourse black is best. CAffeine boosts your metabolism and it is said that taken twice a day (morning and lunchtime) is best. When you've got a craving for something sweet - switch to fruit... pineapple - strawberries, etc. Having a spicy meal every 2 - 3 meals or so raises your metabolism because it gets your bloods rushing and that so load on the tabasco! I drink V8 every day so I like to put some in them for an extra kick! Drink lots and lots of water. It flushes out your system.. helps your body burn fat faster and keeps your digestive system working smoothly. Hmmmm.. what else...
 

Dont eat after 8pm. You're not as active and what you eat goes straight to storage if you're not moving around and burning it off.. and stay positive! You can't give up on yourself - you're worth this and you won't achieve it unless you believe that you can! I'm out of ideas for now.. I can't think on the spot very well ...

I think elizab3th said it all :p Gotta get that cardio in. Start with baby steps. Do the bike 20 min, tread, 20 min and ellipitcal 20 min. I think elizab3th does all that and more LOL!!!! I'm starting to do that cause being on one machine for a whole 45 min can get boring.... Congrats for comming this far.276 that is great.Keep it up girl..... like billy blanks says"The only way to FAIL is o QUIT". Have a good one
 
Hi there, you are doing a great job. I am so impressed rock climbing wow. Wish I had the confidence or the ablility to do that. Its tough work. You have done so well losing 20pounds, I know you will get all the rest off as well. Everyone here is very suportive and it really helps. Keep up the great work.:)
