dreamingblue's Journey

Falling is scary at any weight, but especially when you're overweight. I did a lot of walking outside in the winter and I fell twice landing on my right knee. Only after the season was over did I discover something called "YakTrax". Best investment ever if you're scared of falling.

I'm sorry you had a bad day at Curves, Dreaming, but like you said, some sleep is probably all that's needed. You'll feel better in the morning :)

Eek, falling in the snow sucks. I live in Southern California, so there's not much snow, but I used to go up to the mountains and I hated it. I was so scared of walking in the snow.

Haven't went to Curves yet, I've been running around doing errands. And I went to the hair salon earlier. Every time I go to the salon I just fall asleep. lol. I feel like an old lady. I fall asleep getting my hair washed, under the dryer and getting my hair done. I guess cuz I feel so relaxed.

Anyway, I'm off to Curves...

Oh, and my weight this morning was 311. I dunno what that was about, so when I got back home today I decided to weigh myself again and I was 310.4! WHAT. lol. Whatever.

Woot on the Weight Loss!!! Hope you are feeling more energetic and the back has recovered!!!

Hello DreamingBlue, just thought I'd stick my head in and say Hi. :seeya:

I hope you're well.

I'll be back even if it takes me three weeks. Oh and thanks for poppin in on my diary! ;)

hey girl, thanks for passing by my diary...just been a bit busy...hope your doing good? i'm sure you'll break that 310 barrier this coming week coz you've been doing really great! xoxo

You are doing great!!! I'm with Cherry.. I think this week will see you smash that 310 mark!

Go Girl :hurray:

Sometimes I just want to smash the freaking scale, but like everyone else said, you'll bust through that 310 mark. It just seems like it takes forever because you want it so bad!

Thanks everyone.

Scale said 311.6! This morning. Argh :(

I think I'm gonna start exercising at home and at Curves. Start taking in more fiber and drinking tons more water. And sometimes I eat things like 100 calorie cupcakes, and I'm gonna stop doing that.

I know that I'm not gaining fat, this is water retention, probably because I'm gonna start my period soon. But I still don't want to see the numbers going up instead of down.

aw, i'm so sorry about being stuck at 311...i remember i was there not too long ago when i was stuck at 330 for like 7days straight, i was so sad about it! don't worry hun, give it a few days and it will go down.

i know what you mean about feeling like you may want to workout at home too....for me i'm not able to do any strength training at the gym for my legs because i can't fit into the machines or it would be too difficult getting in, so i'm trying to look for some leg and back strengthening exercises i can do from home...oh and i think i need to add abs too. maybe i'll be doing these on my rest days because on the other days i'm just too tired.

yesterday i tried searching on youtube for some free beginners yoga videos and even those were a chore!..lol! i tried one which was in like 5 parts....at the end of part 1 i was done!...lol! and it had barely even started!

i also looked at some beginners dance videos (i like hiphop but would also like to try salsa too) and would definitely like to try that out sometime in the future. one day when i've gotten to my goal weight i want to learn exotic dancing and pole dancing too...lol! all my thin friends go for classes and of course i'd never dream of it at my current weight...i long for the day when i'll be able to do anything i want without being hindered by my weight...one day we'll all get there.
Thanks everyone.

Hey Cherry,

Thanks for the encouragement. :)

I had joined SparkPeople once, that was back around October-ish when I wasn't truly serious. They had some pretty cool exercises there for strength training. You might want to check that out.

I have also tried Yoga, and its not for me. LOL. Not yet anyway. That stuff is SOOOO hard. lol

About the dancing, omg, me too! I have been thinking A LOT about taking some Hip Hop dance classes or Salsa, I'll even try ballroom dancing. I like to dance, but I when I try to follow steps to workout tapes, I have found that I have ZERO coordination skills. lol. But I'd still love to try, because I love music and dance. I have even looked online for some classes, the only REAL hip hop classes are out in L.A. I live about 2 hours away from there. But if that meant that I would have to drive there a few times a week for the classes, then I would.

When I get down below 200, I'm gonna seriously look into it. :D

It's funny how weighing yourself everyday is perfectly fine as long as then numbers are going down. Right now it'd be awesome to just take a machete to the thing.

move over beyonce, because here come dreamingblue and cherry! lol!

i've always loved dancing but my passion for it slowly fizzled out over the years, but now that i'm getting active again i can definitely see myself getting into it after i've lost a certain amount of weight. i think like you say around the 200mark give or take a couple of pounds is a good enough weight to begin.

we're definitely on the right track...so lets just keep on going because we'll get to our destination slowly but SURELY...YAY!

I would love to take up dance classes. I've been fascinated by middle eastern dance for a long time. I also want to join a roller derby team lol. I'm ultra competitive and I think that sort of sport is just what I need to burn off any aggression I have in me. When I was a teenager, I was on a speed skating team. I wonder if I still got a little something in me? ;)

Ooooh, middle eastern dance is so beautiful. I would love to do something like that as well. I had this one exercise video that had belly dancing in it. But it was so silly for me to do it, cuz I think you gotta feel sexy in order for it to work. And I didn't feel sexy at all with my huge belly going everywhere. Maybe when I get down to a normal size :)

Roller Derby seems fun too. Although I have never been able to skate, mainly because I've always had really bad coordination and I couldn't get my balance correct, so I just gave it up when I was a kid. I was such a dork. lol But the taking the aggression out part seems very fun.

You wanna know what my scale did to me this morning?

I got on and I was 310.0. Cool right? I wasn't satisfied, I thought that something was going on. So I waited a few minutes, got back on and it was 310.8!!! Now, I know my scale is FINE. It's a good scale. It's digital, but I guess it depends on how you stand on it.

My original thing to do was just to weigh myself at Curves and I think I'm gonna continue to do that. Argh.

AWESOME on getting to 310 (give or take a .8 :p ) I knew you could do it!!!

Dancing is so much fun, I used to love it too, but somewhere along the line I seem to have totally lose my groove LOL I am now Mrs Dorky McDork when it comes to dancing hahahahaha trying to work on that!!! I think we just lose touch with our bodies so much when we are fat that we no longer know how to move, and no longer have the confidence to just do it!!! I know I am paranoid about someone seeing me dancing around!

Have a great Day DB :)
