I've been doing other types of workouts for years, but, only off and on. I did lose 10 lbs using a site with a calorie counter diary and fitness diary. I did either walking or biking for atleast an hour a day and kept my calories to around 1200 give or take 100. If I burned off 300 I would eat atleast 1/2 of those to get my total calories a day up to 1200. Hope this makes sense. Anyway, I hurt both my knees from repetitive exercising and ended up gaining back every pound, mostly because I was depressed and ticked off.
Now, I am starting again after 2 months of basically nothing productive. My neighbor and friend got the info on Dr. Al Sears PACE program and the more I read the more sense it makes. Although I am not an evolutionist and don't believe we started out as monkeys or even cavemen. But the rest makes sense about the red-meat, wild game, fish blablabla.
My name is Denise, I am 5'2" weigh 138 today and hope to get down to 115 or so. Depends on how I feel and what I think is best weight for me at my age, 56. Main thing is to lose the fat and just be healthy. Looking good in a little, black dress again would be a bonus
Is there anyone about fitness.com that is using Dr. Al Sears method? And if so, is it working for you and if you have anything you could share here that might help me, I would so appreciate it.
By the way, right now I am on my 4 day of eliptical training. 3 minute sort of warmup, sprint like crazy, rest a minute and do it again, 5 times total. After a week of that, I will see what is next. I understand none of his exercise routines involve more than 20 minutes
Thank you all, denise
