DQ Something Different

I know, I know. Another new one. :toetap05:

This is the day I tap into that anger again, find my motivation to make my life better. Despite Christmas, and not tracking my intake, I've been holding onto my weight for the last 4 or 5 months. Not strictly a plateau, because I haven't actually been trying to lose. :( But at least I haven't gained.

I'm going to work out right now. 20 minutes, even if it kills me. (it won't, don't worry)

DQ, I wish you all the best with your new start, sometimes thats what it takes to get ya back on your feet,I must say CONGRATS on holding your weight and not gaining, thats a tough 1 for me.GL and have a nice day,Tammy

Hi DQ,

What are your goals? I would love to be at 137! But I know we are all different.

I guess I should re-do my goals as well, hey?

My goal is to get back into exercise mode. I love how I feel when I get it done. I'm pretty out of shape at the moment, I get short of breath again too easily. :(

My goal weight is between 120 and 125. I'm pretty short, so we'll see how I look and feel when I reach that. :) Preferably, this will happen by my birthday...a year later than my original plan though. LOL!

Ok question do you remeber when your weight started slacking off? You had a pretty big starting weight and was constantly on a loss every week?I am getting at I am finally seeing 170'sand if I keep eating right and working my booty off do you think I can hit ATLEAST 160's before I see a plateau?

I know just what you mean about getting back into the swing of exercise. I am now in that "mode". And as long as I just do it (even though some of me still says "awe, can't it wait?"), I find that I feel great afterwards!

I'm short too. 145 isn't a "recommended" weight by the charts. But a couple of years ago, I was actually at 144. I still thought I was "fat", but actually I wasn't. Just some flabby parts is all. ;) I could handle 145 again -- and this time stick there or go lower.

I have no idea. I think I was in the 160's a lot longer than the 70's and 80's, so maybe. It all depends on the person, I think.

When I first started, my initial goal was 150. I thought that would be skinny, I had no concept of actual weight or weight loss. lol! Take it one pound at a time, how you look and feel is more important than the numbers. :)

I will NOT be exercising today. I am exhausted. I have to be at work by 5:30 this morning, and I need to leave half an hour earlier than usual to shovel the crap the snow/windstorm left behind last night.

Let me rephrase that...shovelling will be the ONLY exercise I get today. lol

Just take gradual steps and you'll get back in to it. Just think of what you normally are like. Normally you do stuff. You'll be back in no time.

Congratulations for your weight loss and especially for maintaining it. You are a real trooper never giving up.

TOPS tonight...I had gone up 1.5 lbs over the holidays, and was down .75 last week. Down another .75 tonight, so the Christmas weight is now GONE!!!!

Um, yah, I don't think I'll be beginning my walking regime today. -29 C, feels like -41. For all you southern type folk, that's -20 F, feeling like -42. Insane, I tell ya.

Ah no wonder I haven't seen your diary updating lol. A lot of times when I surf diaries I just go to my subscribed ones so I never saw you posting. From what I've read the plateaus really do depend on the person. In checking out the before and after pics, there was a very interesting post from a woman who claimed to have a nearly 2 year plateau. She did break through it though :)

we're finally hitting below 0 for the first time in more than a year this weekend.. brrrrr..

I love the cold -makes you appreciate the spring :)

The anger, and depression that got me going in the first place a year and a half ago are back. Which is a bad thing that I'm going to turn into a good thing. Flip it around, so to speak, like I did before, and use it as motivation to get what I want. :) I just wish it was spring...

Hey there Dari,
I so hate this BITTER COLD ,I miss my walks and tomorrow
we are hitting the lowest of the year so far I think 2 degreesor -2 whats the
difference once it gets below 10 lol..You have done gr8 and you will continue to,Have a WARM weekend Tammy

:seeya:Hi DQ
Boy, do I hear ya on the winter thing! :banghead:It will feel so good when it's over! YEESH, by St. Stephen's Day/Boxing Day, I am ready for all of the snow to be looooooong gone, dangnabit!

I also hear ya on the plateau. Way to maintain, though! Wowsers, you have lost so very much, and obviously you are able to maintain the loss! But you're right, if you want to lose a little more, time to kick up the exercise! :smash: The rickety ol' treadmill in my basement is the best 5$ DH ever spent, as far as I am concerned! It's in front of the rickety ol' TV, and boy-o-boy do I sweat to CSI !!!

Best wishes as you continue your journey. Winter will soon (ok, ok - eventually) make way to Spring!

cheers
ABBA

Congratulations on being down a pound and a half since Christmas. You're doing just fine Dari, still being accountable by going to TOPS still.
