Down 75 lbs, almost there...

Hey guys, I've been reading here for a while so I figured I would actually post my story so far.

I'm a 21 year old university student, 6'3 tall and I started out in late January at 280 lbs. My original goal was 200 lbs, which, as of today I am 5 lbs away from :)

However I will definately be going lower then that as my body frame is not as large as I thought. I still have a fair bit of fat in my midsection that is going to take some time to remove so I figure I will end somewhere between 185-190.

Here is a comparisson shot of my face, unfortunately I did not want to take a full body pic of myself at my heaviest so I can't show a comparrison there. But once I reach my final goal I'll be sure to post some body shots of how I look.

Good for you- that's awesome. You look like a very different version of yourself. Can I ask how you lost 80 pounds in just 7 months? I'm currently losing weight and my first month just passed and I was lucky enough to lose 21pounds so far, but I'm expecting the weight loss to be lower as the weeks go on, putting me somewhere around the 80 pounds lost area at the end of December, which is about the same time frame as your weight loss. I've cut back my calories and begun working out a lot.. what's been working for you so far? Again, congratulations! Be very, very proud of what you have accomplished so far.

You look great! Way to stick it out!! I know how hard it can be to stay on track while in school, but looks like you were able to! Great transformation!

For me its all diet and exercise. For the first 4 months I was just going to the gym 3 times a week (sometimes 4) doing 30 minutes of weights and 30 minutes of cardio. Since then I've been gyming 3 days a week with about 45 mintues of weights and 30 minutes of cardio. Then 2 days a week I run outside at various distances and I often throw in some interval sprints.

As for the diet, I've just been steadily eating 1700-1800 calories a day and 1 full cheat meal every week.

The weight loss was very quick at first, I lost about 20lbs in the first month, since then its been about 10 lbs a month sometimes more, sometimes less. But as long as I stick to my calories its pretty consistent. If i have a no loss week I can always attribute it to my eating.

I try to stick to healthy food but if I have something bad I just fit it into my calories. I'm an absolute french fry fiend and thats my biggest problem. I could go the rest of my life without ever eating red meat, or pizza, or even chocolate/sweets. But I can't even go a week without eating french fries, I don't know what it is.

that is too funny- you sound like the male version of me. I do the same thing- just stick to my calories (only 1300) and if I want something unhealthy, I just fit it in to my daily allowance. There's no way not to eat healthier when your calories are restricted because you look for lower claorie foods that you can eat lots of, and those always end up being things like fruits and veggies- what's healthier than that?? My main dinner item of choice seems to be fish lately- it's really filling, gives me a lot of protein, and very low in calories. I go to the gym ALL the time now though- for the last three weeks I have only missed going 3 times, but since I go in the mornings before work, right now I can only fit in 30-45 minutes of cardio. I try to do 20 minutes of muscle work at home 3 times a week, but will probably just do my normal pre-work gym routine of cardio, and then pick 3 nights a week to go to the gym and do some real muscle working machines. I never thought I'd get addicted to the gym, but here I am! Also, your weight loss seems consisitent with what I expect- I lost 21 in my first month and now plan about 10 a month from here on out. It's kinda funny to find someone on here starting at about my same weight, doing the same kind of diet and everything, only male. Since you started 7 months before me, I'll have to check in on your progress every now and then as motivation for my own weight loss. Again, congrats on what you've done so far.

UPDATE: Weighed in this morning at 202.3 lbs. I may hit my goal next week :) Then its on to toning and fat reduction.

Just a little update, I saw a pic taken of me from the side and decided to do another comparisson. I'll add it to the top post.
