Your not saying the time of day your examining yourself. For example, after I sleep (8 or so hours), Im extremely DRY, havent had food in 8 hours, I look my BEST THEN (in the ab area), but once I start drinking water and eat every 3 to 4 hours (in my caloric deficit range), I gain about 3 pounds (which is NORMAL). Abs still look great and cut, but not as deep. Its normal to look different throughout the day and different lighting, dont be overly concerned with it if your on tract with your goals.

My thoughts exactly....

In my opinion, you should gage yourself at the SAME TIME at regular intervals(preferably in the morn or when you wake up) with the same cloths or comparable clothing, or none at all. Weight and fuid retention varies thoughout the day (and is normal). Rememeber another thing, the ab muscle internal and external are the closest (in front) to the organs,,,,,this is one of the MAIN REASONS these are harder to get to show (again in my opinion, then gaining muscle--and gaining muscle can be hard too). Rock on be your goal, if you continually mirror yourself at various times, this is can be a negative thing. By doing to at the same time and with the same ratios, this is a better gauge of progress(at least in self examinations).
