Don't call it a comeback!

Hey there- I would've invited you to the bar crawl but I was jealous about your date the other night :) And next Monday we better both reach our goal... (240s for you and 230s for me)

But now, don't let me lose by myself! I plan on getting those pounds off! :)

(BTW, you did a really good job yesterday. You definitely got back on track :))

Thanks for the support!!!

Yesterday went good again. I worked out for an hour and a half roughly, and blasted my back and abs.

I ate:

2 servings grits
1 serving tuna helper for lunch
1 medium tomato
1 bowl of white rice and half a chicken breast stir fried with broccoli and onion.
1 glass skim milk
1 glass v8

LIVID this morning

This might be a long one.

I didn't do so well yesterday. I started out good breakfast was a small bowl of grits, lunch a grilled chicken ceaser salad, got home and worked out for half an hour, then ate the left over 1/2 chicken breast with broccoli and rice. Then I went out and drank a few beers. :( 7 bud lights to be exact. THEN of course when I get home I have the munchies and ate some cabbage casserole that I had frozen, a slice of cornbread, and a slice of health nut bread!!!!

I woke up at 4:30 this morning mad at myself so I decided to go ahead and get up and work arms and abs then go for a 4 mile walk, which I did.

Well, I almost get run over by a car!! The mirror actually clipped my hand!

Let me set it up for you. I am walking against traffic on the white line, wearing a blaze orange shirt. I look like the great pumpkin (charlie brown LOL) in that thing, you could see me from space. I am less than 200 yards from the stop sign at the end of the road and I hear a vehicle approaching from behind me on the opposite side of the road. I don't look back, I'm walking AGAINST traffic, it should be in the other lane. The first one was, the Ahole behind them decided to pass them right before the stop sign. I could tell the sound was in my lane when it was on top of me and as soon as I realized it and felt a wave of panic BAM!!, the car was on me and his mirror clipped my hand. No horn, no warning, nothing. Two birds went flying high and I'm screaming at them like a lunatic, then I realize they might get stuck at the sign for a second if there is traffic on the main highway so I take off running. There was no traffic and they sped off. I WAS FUMING. One mistep by me at the wrong time could have cost me my life. Whats wild is that ten years ago, almost to the day, I was hit by a drunk driver while I was walking. He was doing 45 in a 25 and in the wrong lane.

Maybe cooler heads will prevail, but right now I want to be waiting at that stop sign in the morning to have a little talk with someone.

Jeeeeez... What a maroon... I hope your hand is ok... I know i owuldn't have, but idon't suppose you got the license plate?

I hope your day improves from here...

I hate inconsiderate and reckless drivers, but what he did goes beyond that. Somebody like that is going to hurt somebody. I'm just glad it wasn't you.

maleficient, no I didn't get the license plate. It all happened so fast I couldn't tell you if the plates were even in-state or not. I don't have much faith in law enforcement anyway, so I probably wouldn't bother.

I've calmed down about it now, so I doubt I'll be out there at the stop sign in the morning. Its definitely not what I SHOULD do, even though I WANT to. Oh well.

Its funny, I just told somebody the other day that I have to drive to walk because somebody would run me over around here. The first time that I've tried to walk from my house this happens. Lesson learned.

Hey,

I'm just catching up with your diary.

I'm glad to see you don't let one or two bad days turn into 3 or 4 bad days. Slip ups happen, no guilt, learn from them and move on and that's all you can do.

I think you've got a great attitude and I know you will do great!

I'm sorry to hear about your hand. I hope it is ok and that those fools don't do something like that again.

Wow- that is ridiculous. I know that I'm not the best driver in the world, but at least I am aware of pedestrians... and I don't find it necessary to drive on the wrong side of the road. Hopefully the guy got a flat tire later down the road...
I'm glad you're okay- :)

Well yesterday ended well. I went home and ate well, and got some much needed rest. MAN did I sleep good last night! Yesterday I had:

cheezits for breakfast (yeah that sucks, but I couldn't get anything else and I was hungry)

lunch was a grilled chicken ceaser salad
snack was a can of asparagus
dinner was a bakes chicken breast, a can of peas, and a serving of wild rice
after dinner snack was a slice of health nut bread

Breakfast of champions, cheezits are not... :) but oooh are they good ;)

Looks like you had a great day yesterday... and sleep is always good- not to be a nudge (because I'm so aware of it these days - that's a lot of sodium in them thar canned veggies- did ya wash rinse and repeat before eating I hope? :D

Hope you have a doubly terrific day today

I always drain and add some tap water for cooking/heating. I don't necessarily do it to reduce the sodium, I don't know why I do it really. I've cut my sodium in half at least with just the changes I've made.

Well, the weekend went well. I stuck to my diet and exercise plan. I hit the weights hard both days, and also walked 3.5 miles Saturday morning. I knew that I had picked up a little strength over the last couple months, but amazingly I have increased my bench press by 60 pounds. Thats makes me feel good about my slow weight loss, because I know I have to have gained some muscle mass to pull that off. I also lost 2.5 pounds from last monday and I'm out of the 250's!!!!!! Man I love to say that.

yeserday I took the day off from exercise. I needed a break from the weights so I just decided to sit around and rest myself. It felt good. I ate:

1 cup low fat yogurt

1 small portion salmon and wild rice

2 pickles

a small portion (probably 1/4) of chicken breast

1 portabella pizza(the mushroom is the crust, so to speak), with very little cheese, onion, bell pepper, black olives

1 bag 100 cal popcorn
