Donia's Diary...Help!

Ahem. *arches an eyebrow and pretends to look very serious* I do believe that diary threads are supposed to be used for supportive and caring comments that will help encourage the person who is taking time to write into these pages.
The word "YUCK!!!!" is only supposed to be used when referring to foods we know are bad for us, or when describing pictures of surgery. As for why he might want to look at you, it could be that he likes what he sees, you know! Besides, you are in freakishly good health for someone of your weight, remember? :p

The DDR/exercise habit is a good one to get into, especially if you haven't done it enough in the past. You'll really start to discover what you are capable of (hopefully!) and might even start to enjoy it. The other thing to do right now is to build the habit of tracking what you eat, even if you don't set a goal at all. ;)
Building good habits takes time and goes slowly (unfortunately) and they require a lot of "maintenance" rebuilding effort too, but it's really worth the effort in the end. :D

At least that is what I keep telling myself, lol. Who knows, maybe I'm gullible. *g*

Hey Donia, just popping in to say hi. Are you still active in that other site? I used to go but found their new non-critique policy, and their heavy censorship by the moderators, unhelpful and boring. But Rockin Robin is so inspirational on there, I just love her. You're very pretty and I love your arms! And I must say I dont know how you handled 2 sets of boy twins at that young age. Its no wonder you didn't have a spare second to focus on your weight.

Qjay...I know what you're saying, I REALLY do, but it's hard to look at those pictures. This is my diary, so I feel safe saying yuck here. I would try not to say that anywhere else, but I just can't help it. Also, I am tracking my foods...here's a link... . Feel free to have a look and offer any suggestions if you'd like! I AM in good health, but you can't tell it by looking at me! :(

Blancita...I'm not exactly sure which website you're talking about. The Daily Plate? Sparkpeople? I don't really spend much time on Sparkpeople anymore, but I LOVE TDP. I have met such amazing people there. I don't spend much time on the message boards, though. I do have a group there that I started for people with 100+ pounds to lose. I'm totally amazed that my group has 120 members in it! As far as the boys go, they do take up some time and energy, but they live with their dad, so he gets to deal with most of it! Thank you soooo much for the compliments. I HATE my arms, so hearing you say that you like them means a lot to me!

I think all women hate their arms... I mean elbows are just not the most attractive thing ever no matter if you are Kate Moss, Selma Hyack, Roseanne Arnold, or whoever...

I end up wearing long sleeves or 3/4 length year round because I just can't bring myself to be in public with my arms..... which leads me to this...

AWESOME FOR YOU TO POST PICS!!!!!

That is such a big achievement in a swimsuit. ..I can't bring myself to put on one much less take pics & POST THEM IN PUBLIC!

YOU COMPLETELY HAVE MY RESPECT & ROCK!!!!

Just think.. if you are that confident in the before.. what are you going to wear in the after pics? We may need lil black boxes to strategically place so we doing get shut down as being x-rated!

Don't you dare feel bad. Remember how much you have lost already too!

Thank you so much for this post, MoonGoddess! Yes, I have my confident moments. My husband and friends will tell you that! :jump: I do the same thing with my shirts. Arms have to be covered!

Anyway, I came by to post in my diary because I tried on a t-shirt that my husband gave me when we were first together. I weighed about 335 then and it was too small. It fits now! :eek2: It felt sooo good to be able to actually SEE that I'm losing!

Nice! I have a couple of things hanging around my closet that I can't respectably wear but can't see to part with & I'm dying to get down to a size where I can bring those babies out.

Congrats on bringing back the shirt!

just wow. I saw the -504 for grocery shopping View attachment 3539

Next time you want a pizza fest, try a whole wheat thin Boboli shell. The whole pie is only 750 cals with 4-5 tablespoons of sauce, a smattering of grated parm and lightly toss on some rough cut romano for texture and you can bring the whole pie in under 925 cals not to mention you get good break on carbs.

I eat 2 (on two different nights obv) of these every week for my supper. Any veggie is free cals so load up !!

Just avoid the meat stuffs and mozzarella and you'll be fine.

I'm glad you saw I was being encouraging :D

I love the "old clothes" feeling and am wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear in many years now (I kept a couple of boxes of them, thank goodness!) and I am really glad to have them! The clothes I bought in the last couple of years are pretty much all just hanging off me after only 6 months or so of trying to eat right, and many, many slip-ups and food plan party fouls.

I look forward to reading your diary here, because you started off in the same neighborhood I did (proportionally), and it is so nice to see someone else who goes through those same changes.

Oh, by the way; I am now wearing shirts that were gifts over the past several years, but were too "small" to wear at the time. It really is a nice feeling, so keep doing what you are doing, because it will only get better on that account.

We'll get there, sooner or later ;)

Sorry I haven't been around much, guys. My health problems (the reason for my surgery) have just been kicking my butt lately. I'm still trying to eat better and to exercise when I feel like I can, but I don't think I'm going to be going TOO hardcore until about August which is when I'll be mostly recovered from surgery. Thanks for everyone's support and I promise I'll be popping back on every now and then. I'm not giving up!!!

Hope you are feeling mush better soon. I know it might not be until after the surgery & all the healing, but it gets closer everyday... so hopefully the bad days are numbered. :)

I bet the better eating habits will help your body recover faster since it will have the nutrients needed to heal.

I've been really busy getting ready for my surgery, but I wanted to stop by and post that I have still been tracking my food and trying to exercise and I've lost 2 more pounds! YAY!

Awesome!

So how are you feeling? Ok about everything? I'm rooting for your quick & safe healthy recovery. Just think how much better it will all be once its over & done with & you are back to feeling good. :)

You have been missed around here.

Awww...sweetie, thank you! I keep trying to think about how much better I'll feel, but I'm also scared to death because my surgery is in 2 weeks! I can hardly believe that it's coming up so fast. In my research, I'm reading that quite a few women experience some weight loss after surgery and I'm hoping to be one of them! It seems like a loss between 10 and 20 pounds is about average so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Plus you will be feeling better so you will feel more like actually exercising. Hopefully.

Its going to be over & behind you before you know it.

Home from the hospital...

Well, I've been home for a few days, but haven't had much energy so I'm just now posting.

The surgery took more than twice as long as it was supposed to because my uterus ended up being much larger than was thought. I lost some extra blood and had some trouble getting my pain under control in recovery, but I'm ok now. I do have a slight bladder infection (probably from the catheter) so I'm on a few days of antibiotics along with my pain killers, iron supplement, and daily stool softener. Besides that, I'm just TIRED and sore. I won't be back here much yet, but give me a couple of weeks or so!

Thanks to everyone who sent me messages and comments. It helps to know that there are people out there who care.
