Doing rows in the same workout that you do bench presses?

Will doing rows right after I've done 3 sets 3 reps of bench presses make the rows any harder for me? It looks like the rows work some of the same muscle groups, but I really want to train my general back and lats.

Row-you pull
Press-you press

Completely different moves. Compltely different muscle groups. No, it shoulnd't be harder

nope, I've done workouts that called for bench press and bent-over row in an antagonistic rotation. i.e. bench press 1 set, row 1 set, bench 1 set, row 1 set...etc.

as Evo says, press vs. push means two different muscle groups are being used.

in this case, they are antagonists. for pressing, your chest does the work, but the back stabilizes the chest. vice versa for rowing.

in fact, some people think its smart to warm up the lats with some rows prior to bench pressing, so the lats allow a better ROM for the chest. researchers have tested explosive force between rowing warm ups and non-rowing warm ups and found a slight increase in force in the rowing group.

In my current routine I superset Incline bench with seated rows one day and flat bench with pendlay rows the other day. It's completely fine.
