Doing it right

I agree, American food is so bad. Even your McDonalds is fattier than ours. We have some American boys over motorbike racing for a friend of ours and they hated our McDonalds because it wasn't greasy enough. Bleh! Everytime our friends go back to America they come back fat. Although, traditional NZ food isn't that great, fatty stews, sausages and mash, bacon and eggs, but nowadays we usually eat curries and stirfries or just meat and 3 veg.

Well, I now have food in the cupboard. I sold my breast pump on trademe (it's like ebay) and got $56 for it. So I've finally had a proper breakfast. I had Bran cereal and I actually feel good for the first time in days. I'm still tired though. Hubby's on-call and didn't get home until 3am this morning, he started at 7am yesterday, poor guy. Then Mikayla woke up at 6 and he couldn't get back to sleep, then all the school kids went past and he decided he may as well go to work. I can't sleep properly without him here so I had a rough night too, granted it wasn't as rough as his.

lol, yeah I look a little like patrick the starfish these days. Mikayla is 11ish weeks old. My brain decayed away while I was pregnant and I'm having a bit of trouble keeping track of how many weeks she is. I thought she was 12 weeks but everyone tells me she's not.. Hold on I'm going to count it. Okay I was way off, she's 10 weeks today. God thats so bad.
Well, I better go and get something done, this computer has been such a distraction today!

Oh dear. You think pregnancy made your brain decay? My sisters always said the babies suck your brains out when you feed them! I do know what you're talking about though.

The vege garden sounds like a fantabulous idea! So does that ebay sale! Who said your brain's decayed - maybe it just needs the on/off switch jiggled around a bit! :D

Or maybe a nice long rest ... I feel for you and your husband there. I don't remember the time when my babies kept me awake because the part of my brain I was using then has decayed, or maybe was inactivated due to lack of attention, due to no sleep - at any rate I have no memory of it. I do recall the feeling though. Hang in there!

I'm back!! I disappeared for a while but i'm back! I've been soooo exhausted, I don't know whats wrong with me, I'm getting some blood tests done on Tuesday. I had a really high white blood cell count just after I gave birth and they didn't know where the infection was, they just gave me anti-biotics and I can't help but think that maybe they didn't quite do the trick. Unfortunately, the tiredness has made the dieting really hard as I feel like I need extra calories, and exercise just kills me, but I'm going to try my best.

Hey Jenny!!
Welcome back! That sounds like some serious infection, that might be why you are tired hun, but do make sure you get your caloric intake. You dont want to lose weight the wrong way ..

Hi jennylee!!

I hope the blood tests help. It can be pretty tiring having a new baby to look after regardless of your health!!

It's great to see you're still with us! If you stick to the kinds of foods that are known to help make us healthy without worrying too much about amounts for now, then that will keep you in good stead for a time when you can fine tune things. Clearly this is not the time to be cutting back. There are some kinds of exercise that help our bodies feel grateful straight away, and other kinds that make it complain first. Sounds like it's time for the first kind for you - gentle walking in some fresh air, stretching type activities like low key pilates or yoga, or an actual stretching tape. I had an old, old Jane Fonda video from the local library that I took out a few times and it used to make me feel great every time I bothered to follow it.

Take care of yourself.
