doing a detox?

can someone explain what a detox is and how to go about doing one? If someone has been working out for a long time like 6 months or something, would they still need a detox? I've heard something like drinking some lemon concentrate with some hot water every morning.
 
Doing a detox 1-2 times a year is not a bad idea. I'd go to a health food store and talk to an herbalist. Typically, you'll want to cleanse your organs in a certain order.
