I am 14, and I been weight lifting for about a year now. I don't do
it that much, like 10 min. a day, and 3 -4 days a week.
Does weight lifting effect your growth?

I have heard it does, and and doesn't. The experts say that if you do maximal weight lifts then it damages your growth plates. I have done maximal lifts before, but only like 5 times since I have started doing all this. Will this effect my growth, please reply.

Well i heard it slows growth. I have a friend that started when he was 14, and he i shorter than 5'5".

Lots of people hear things that are false. When falsehoods become perpetuated they become myth, and this one tops the list of myths about fitness. Trust me, it won't slow your growth in ANY way.

for the last time it never ever effect or slow your growth its not true a total lie.
if you are starting to lift at the age of 14+ you are ok and not need to worry

as a bonus I hear muscle put on before about 18 tends to stay.

I think this is because the muscle is being built with less Testosterone present; more Test' causes a quick gain that is more easily lost (evidence from steroid abusers).
