does it matter when you eat breakfast?

I get to work at 6am. Sometimes I dont or can't eat breakfast until about 8 or 9 am is that okay? Or to make breakfast count do I need to eat as early as possible after getting up? I know that break fast starts your metabolism so thats why I ask. thanks!
 
Your in somewhat of a catabolic state upon awakening so its best to get some food in your body as soon as possible to prevent muscle loss as well as to kick start your metabolism for the day.
 
You need energy first thing in the morning as ~LV~ said, get somethign simple into you when you wake up - again fruit and protein drink are very easy even if you are not feeling hungry.

The benefits - feeling good, having energy, growing muscle
 
I agree, you really sould have something to eat before you work out. I know I feel much beter when I eat before.
