Diary of upimongo's balloon journey

more questions!

Thanks for the reply - that's put my mind at rest somewhat!

I'm not too worried about how rough I'll feel after the procedure because it'll only be temporary (something tells me I might want to retract that statement in the three weeks time!). What I'm really worried about is what I'm going to eat! I feel as if I've spent so many years either on a diet or on a binge - think I've completely forgotten how to eat normally! Do you think that going on a programme like lighterlife (complete meal replacement with soups and shakes) would be a good idea for the 1st few months?

Thanks again for the advice!

Harriet

Day 96 of ballooning

Hi Harriet, sorry for the late reply....went on the works do, and boy did I overdo it...decieded to drink beer....first time in 3 months....big mistake! :ack2:

As for what to eat...I found I had to force myself to eat after the procedure... the soup and meal replacement should help initially...the clinic should give you a helpful guide...mine didn't really help, but if you use the website 'Fitday' to record your eating habits, it'll give you a break down of the food type...you could start now!:sifone:

As for myself....recovering for an od of beer....don't fancy doing that again!:smash:....I lost track of how many pints I had...on the positive side, I was shaking my booty on the dance floor...like a demented gorilla

Hope your parties are as interesting...

:seeya:

Day 98 of ballooning

Dear me....it's like this...do not go to a works do and drink beer in vast amounts (especially if you've not touched it in over 3 months!) and expect everything to be ok....it wont be! I should have planned it, but got caught in the moment...yeah, right!:ack2:

As a result of my foolishness....and the following days of (non) recovery..I have gained 0.5kg!...oops!...but on the brightside, it was one hell of a night! :reddevil:

My sis has arrived and we are going to force each other to go to the gym....starting today...so I may have to bore you with exciting tales of sweating machines...:smash:

Keep the faith..

:seeya:

Day 99 of ballooning

Been to the gym, blew cobwebs off my shorts and produced sweat

Doing a nightshift tomorrow, having weetabix for breakfast, and my sister's healthy special for tea...boy, she loves those chillies:smash:

Soon it'll be the shortest day and the days start getting longer!!...:hurray:..

Stroll on spring

:seeya:

Day 102 of ballooning

Did you notice the days getting longer?....:sifone: I feel like spring is around the corner...further impetus to get into those shorts!!....:waving:

All one has to do is ignore the slushy snow, freezing temps and think of sandy beaches, long summer days. First Class singing Beach Baby...not long now campers! :coolgleamA:

I've seem to have acquired another balloon side effect...the stomach is burbling along and my trips to the little boys room have increased....too much information :ack2:

I'm looking forward to my weetabix for breakfast...and might treat myself to kippers for tea...

Enjoy each day as it pushes the night back!

:seeya:

Hey dude!
Here in Southern Africa we are in the middle of our summer... my days at the moment are spent floating around on the pool and walking around in shorts and t-shirts... we have the most glorious weather here!!

How's your weight loss coming along? I'm getting a little nervous heading into the festive season... I have my birthday dinner tomorrow... Christmas dinner two days later then my famous Victorian Breakfast on Boxing Day... aaaaaargh... then off to the coast for two weeks of holiday... I am so scared I'm going to pick up weight!!

Hope you enjoyed your weetbix!!

Day 104 of ballooning

Hey Foncused.....Happy Birthday!!...oh and Merry Christmas!...walking round in t-shirt....off to the coast for 2 weeks....what are you trying to say?!! :smash:

As for putting on weight...you still have a life to lead, everything in moderation...including alcohol!:angelsad2:...it's just a change in your lifestyle, you will put on weight....I have this week....0.5kg...but I know it will come off again once the hangover clears...if we continue to eat like we do during these holidays then we will be back to the good old days...but remember weight is not the be all and end all....it's how you feel and what hubby and friends say to you!!....

Hope you have a great holiday...and don't get too sunburnt.....ratbag!!!:biggrinjester:

As for the rest of you loyal readers, have a very Merry Christmas....and enjoy the mince pies...(only once a year!):cheers2:

:seeya:

Day 106 of ballooning

Greetings from a bloke that got too attached to the turkey....damn fine meat! :drool5: Actually pleased with some of my eating habits, on the good side did not touch a single sweet from the buckets of 'quality street' and 'roses'....this is a first...used to belt feed them until only the hard ones were left...on the dark side, did eat too many nuts...favourite being hazel nuts....in fact it is a god send having my sister here, as she cooks delicious stuff and only gives me small servings...which are probably normal servings compared to what mummykins used to shovel on my plate...and I would eat it! :smash:

I've been doing odd jobs on the bike, which I'll finish after my last night shift tonight....booked myself into pontins in April for the motorbike weekend :driving: Plan on booking myself in this great hotel in Edinburgh towards the end of March...again on the bike :sifone:

It's a great feeling knowing the days are getting longer, spring around the corner....nnnyyeesss!

Hope your bellies are getting tighter and not your pants!

:seeya:

Hey dude... glad to hear you got thru the festive season relatively unscathed...

Don't be getting too excited about spring round the corner... I'm hanging onto this weather with both hands... you gonna have to hope and pray I let it go so you can get some!!

Well... I need to say goodbye to this festive season *she says while sipping her nicely chilled Mateus Rose from Portugal*... gonna miss my little bottled friends!

Hope 2010 is a year that sees all your dreams, hopes and aspirations come true! Here's to 'making it happen!'

new day

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!...even foncused! :santa: Fear not my dear, I'll pop down and assist you in releasing the warm weather and drag it screaming back to Bolton :smash: There's snow on the ground...in winter!...who'd have thought it?!!...:smilielol5:

I too say farewell to the festive season..went to a dinner dance last night, had 3 pints of larger and a glass of wine...danced like a demon...sweat coming from my diminitive (not!) body...shaking my bits to Wham! and the Jam!...I can't seem to pogo like I used to when I was 17..

I've booked a romantic few days in Edinburgh, for me and the bike in March.. with the new riding gear! Really looking forward to it!

I've stopped counting the days, and will treat each day as it comes..my balloon gets yanked out in March, so I plan to continue writing this drivel for a while afterwards!! :sifone:

May your dreams come true this year..even the odd ones!

:seeya:

another day

Had a walk before work....trying not to slip on the ungritted pavements..weather forecast big freeze for January...ho hum!:smash:

Find I'm eating plenty of salads, mixed with meat based products...not forgetting the chilli! The new year is a good point to get back on track, blow the cobwebs off the scales, replace the lock on the biscuit tin..etc...:sifone:

On another bright point...I've noticed the days are getting longer...it took a tad longer for it to get dark...stroll on spring!! :driving:

Enjoy the late evenings!

:seeya:

another fine day

Went swimming after work...only 3 people in the pool. Had a pleasant surprise, my trunks were baggy, so I had to wear braces! :sifone: Good feeling having muscles asking what the heck is going on!

My master plan is to get into the routine of swimming after nightshift..one becomes quite wide awake afterwards....damn!

I'd love to go walking before work, but the pavements are quite treacherous and I might break something personal....like a leg...which will hurt...a lot! :smash:

I feel quite positive now, with each day getting longer and each day getting fitter...good combination....I'll try not to think about the summer solstice as yet..plenty of time! :willy_nilly:

Hope your routines are working out.

:seeya:

bleedin heck

Just as I was set up to get into the routine of swimming after the night shift... it snowed! I was watching this white stuff coming down...thinking 'it'll stop soon'....but it didn't. Left work, roads quiet, crawled back home in 2 hours...the road to the gym was impassable :nopity:

It feels weired wanting to go swimming & walking...and cannot! :banghead:

But on the bright side....err....hmm....the cold will kill the bugs! :biggrinjester:

I'm into the routine of weetabix for breakfast and a tasty low fat meal in the evening...yum..yum! :smash:

Hope the slight chill is not preventing you from sweating nicely!

:seeya:

another good day

Weighed myself today....lost a kilo, making a total of 15kg! Great to be back on track again!!...Still not exercising enough due to the big freeze (any excuse will do!)....:sifone:....actually I'm seriously peeded off..come back rain, all's forgiven...:angelsad2:

My eating habits are fine, weetabix in morning, pork stir fry tonight...if I'm peckish, then I'll have a few sticks of celery...yum yum!

I was going to replace my silencers on the bike (with more fruity ones...eh?), but it was freezing... What happened to the gulf stream?? :smash:

I hope your having a fruitier time then my exhaust!

:seeya:

yeeha

Well fellow campers, another good day....currently lying in bed prodding my ribs and hip....weird feeling! Used to grab a handful of blubber before...:hurray:

Trimmed my 9 hairs on my head...was going for the DiCaprio look, but settled on the Hommer...:conehead:

It's still bl**dy cold here...expecting a snow storm tomorrow night to coincide with my first night back...ho hum!:nopity:

On the bright side, each day is getting longer....honest! Spring around the corner, think of the daffodils...err....and those other ones...Aaah! of course! not forgetting the new wardrobe we promised ourselves to flaunt our modified shapes...and the adulation we'll receive from strangers... nnnyyyeesss! :smash:

Upimongo

I am only in week one and let me tell you that i am dreaming of all the new clothing that i am going to buy ,..... i LOVE that you are in such great moods, it makes me happy to read you forum ...

So how are you finding the ballon over all are you happy you go it done ...

I am one week in and am already starting to feel so happy ..

Tell me more???

what a fine day!

Hi livelovelaugh!

Thanks for your note, really appreciate it! Glad to hear you're getting stuck in to this body modification caper.:biggrinjester: I'm really happy I got the balloon done, I just could not rely on will power any more...must be part of getting old...I was doing great guns until the bereavement in November, which had quite an emotional effect, though I'm back on the straight and wide!

Got really peeded off with the weather...bleeding cold :ack2: I've never known it to be so bad...went for a walk and fell down...the council said they'll bill me for it...:smash:

On the bright side...days getting longer...roads no longer skating rinks..my last nightshift tonight..just come back from swimming...lost 0.5kg..making a total of 15.5kg

What do you ladies think of Harris tweed?..I've been checking out these jackets...my sister said I'll look like an old fart...suddenly it dawned on me.. I am an old fart!

Must say, it's great to be back, with all the snow gone, I'm looking forward to what spring will bring...besides baggier pants!

Race you to the spring sales...:sifone:

:seeya:

I love that you are on the straight and wide that is so quirky.

I find that when spring and summer come around that i feel like eating less at the moment i am soup queen that is all that i have been having.. Yum Yum

15.5 kg is amazing - sounds like you are doing a really great job :coolgleamA:

I am not sure of harris tweed as i am from australia and we dont get harris tweet in sydney - its not about which jacket - it is about rocking the jacket with confidence and anything can look good.

You are only as old as you feel and after loosing 15.5 kg you would be feeling like amillion Buckaroonies ...

Do you have much more weight to loose ?
