Diary of an 18 year old Gordita!

I'm going to give it a go starting today, I bought the smallest pack though incase it doesn't work out.
and believe it or not Loveeat- I like the shakes! haha I know everyone always says they are so disgusting but I really do enjoy them. Weird, huh?
I'll keep you all updated on how it works out!

If you like the taste go for it! You can start off by only replacing one meal... if I were going to do it I would replace lunch and dinner - I love my brekkies. Looking forward to hearing how its going!
 
So I started yesterday and lost 2.6 pounds already!
I think that this is going to work for me, because I was just doing my own thing, trying to cut back, and this is more structured. On the slimfast website I can put in what I eat and it counts my calories, where before I wasn't really counting :eek: I'm hoping this will work out, I feel very confident about it!

I used to do slim fast, but unfortunately there's a problem with that "program." If you were to calculate the 2 shakes (say breakfast and lunch) and your dinner, the calories are VERY low. It's sort of like that Special K diet: 1 c cereal with skim milk to replace two meals in a day with a sensible dinner. Depending on what you consider a "sensible dinner," for the most part, you end up going way below your calorie intake that you should. If anything, it's an expensive way to reach starvation mode quick fast and in a hurry. (Where it'll screw up your metabolism big time and it sucks losing not more than 2 pounds a month.) Believe me, I was doing 2 shakes, with snacks and dinner and my calories were only 1000-1100 calories a day. Sure I lost a good amount of weight, but once I started to replace meals with the shakes, I ballooned back and plus another 20lbs. To each their own, but do becareful...

I'm going to continue though because when I signed up they put me on a 2100 calorie diet, I chose to bring it down but I mean theyre definitly encouraging me to eat, and I've heard a lot of good stories on other boards, and I've heard . and I've heard a lot that it's just not for some people, hopefully I'm not one of them! I'm sorry it wasn't good for you and I do appreciate the heads up!
 
I have no weight updates, it's my time of the month and I know it's pointless since it's going to be fluctuating so much.

The slim fast plan is going pretty well for me so far, I promise I am eating enough! And I am eating a lot of stuff that is better for me, a lot more meat and poultrey , and my snacks consist of a lot of fruit, and I definitly pay more attention to what I'm eating and when I'm eating, I'm finding it a lot easier not to snack on such a structured plan. I haven't worked out for two days and I feel like CRAP. Yesterday was an off day for me- I just felt like crap and I took the day off. And Sunday I was so busy with homework and by the time I was done the gym was closed (they close at 5 on weekends), I know it's a horrible excuse I should've gone on a walk or something, but Florida is just so dang hot! I'm back on track with exercise, I'm starting the kid counselor job at the YMCA so now I'll just bring a change of clothes and a water bottle and go right after! I'm sure it will work out. I joined the Halloween Challenge and I'm pretty excited about that, I think it will give me even more motivation! Hope everybody else is having a great day!
 
Soon you'll be a flaca! H was calling me gordita too but that's now stopped. Like you, I didn't mind it either as it was meant affectionately. Best of luck on your weight loss journey mami :).

So I've been busy and nonexistent this week, but I've stayed on my slimfast diet, I haven't been working out as much as I'd like to, but I just joined the Halloween Challenge and I NEED to go atleast 5 days! I'm really excited about this, I know that it is the motivation I need!

I did strength training today for the first time in SIX YEARS. It was a KILLER. I'm going to take it easy starting off so that I don't damage myself. I'll keep you all posted with what's going on! Hope everybody is having a great week!
