Diary of a Fat Bird...

@Percival: I always find I eat soo much more when I am ill! It seems the opposite to my friends, who find they can't hold stuff down!

@Skibum1988: Nice to know someone else is in the same position! :) I will definitely hold you to account! Step away....from the pasty :p (Just so you know, you could try the Quorn Saussage Pasties which are lower Cal??!! :D) I am most definitely doing the exercise-thanng ^_^ I absolutely love sport...shame that work seems to get in my way though! :D I'm gunna focus on going to the gym and also doing some classes which I have recently neglected!

If you can reccomend me any good PDFs then that would be really fabulous :D :p

@LunaChick: '4x' is usually at that particular time :p :) Easier for me to remember, so I can add them up :D xD Thanks for the support, good luck :D

Yesterday was a 'good' day, I'm pretty sure I stayed below 1,200Cals! :) Cannot remember what I ate though...too long ago already! Saw Tron though :p Still not competely understood the whole thing, but hey! :D It was fun! :p Plus I got 10 Muller Rice puddings for £3!!!! Amazing! I was soooo happy :D <3 I looove Asda! :D :)

Today I was in the company of friends once again. Unfortunately, I stuck to my Cals until I found some left over Christmas chocolate and got the munchies...Oops....still, I think I am at least below 1,500Cal, and at most below 1,800Cal....so I reckon it won't reflect tooooooo badly on the scales! I plan to get back on them again on the first of Janurary...as I will be returning to Uni shortly after! :D <3

Have a great day everyone! :) :D <3

Once again....it's a day I'm meeting up with mates :p I have had the foresight to think ahead about lunch....and am definitely going to beg for a Subway meal, as a 360Cal Sub is definitely a lot better than anything else out there.

Unfortunately, I woke up sooo hungry today, but I stayed good and just had TONS of eggwhites with ketchup, so breakfast has been a whole 78Cal meal...which is less than usual, but actually more filling ;) Whey!

Well, I'm off to the sales now... ;)

Oh good Lord, binging has put my right back where I started...oh well, just in time for the new years resolutions!

1) LOSE WEIGHT
2) No wasted calories
3) Keep a better diary on here
4) Photos every week (visual aid!)
5) Exercise EVERY day
6) Give up fizzzy drinks (NOoooooooooooooooooooooo!)

Obviously I have about a million more relating to uni etc, but you don't wannt hear that :p

So, today I have so far gotten up and had a breakfast of:

30g Cheeriors: 110Cal
4xEgg White: 52Cal
15ml Low Salt/Sugar Ketchup: 13Cal

175Cal Brekkie, whey! :)

About to go out, but I just thought I'd update on my day....I've been distracting myself from food with Scrapbooking and CSI Miami all morning! I've just had a looovely lunch though:

30g Cheerios: 110Cal
1xQuorn Cottage Pie (300g): 209Cal
1xSkinny Cow Triple Choc Ice Cream: 94Cal

Total for day so far: 575 :)

This afternoon I snacked a lot on cereal bars, so I've finished today on 1440Cal, from lots of the crazily yummy things, plus 1xBag of Buterscotch 'light' popcorn - 130Cal per bag, FAB! And a cottage pie for DinDins (209Cal).

I'm finding it really difficult to eat healthily at home :S Can't wait until I'm back at my flat :S

Oh, fml, 1,700Cals-ish...

New years day... leeway's gotta be allowed.... here is my list of ebooks that I found useful (hopefully I wont get in trouble for this caus I'm not trying to advertise anything)

First one i ever read was called 'Eat Yourself Thin' by Michel Montignac. It provides an interesting explanation of nutrition and how certain foods affect your body as you eat them - most interesting is the section on carbohydrates and lipids. It is by no means perfect or indeed a bible, and the author's style and consistency is far from perfect. It wouldnt be a plan i'd follow to the letter, but i think some of its principles are worthwhile. I have adopted the wholegrain bread / cereal / rice (this seems a consistent theme from most nutritionists), wherever possible I try to separate when i eat carbs from when i eat lipids and protein, and I have cut out as much refined sugar as I can - with a view to eliminating it completely within the next couple of weeks. In my mind the author's slight lack of continuity and ramblings about wine show that this, despite largely being scientifically sound, is not the best ebook out there. I also don't quite agree with Atkin's like suggestions that carbs should be avoided wherever possible, nevertheless its a short and useful introduction.

The Raw Foods Bible by Craig Sommers is worth dipping into too... Generally the principles I have taken out of it is if I can enjoy a certain type of vegetable raw, then I wont cook it - I now no longer cook carrots, peppers, tomatoes, onions, chillies etc etc and now try to get the majority of my 5 a day through vegetable salads so I get as much nutritional benefit out of them as possible.

Finally 'Weight Loss that Lasts' by James Rippe (i think it is published in partnership with weightwatchers, but i may be wrong), is really useful and is pretty clear and balanced about the issue. It was the final one i read. It's very good and explains some of the science behind various forms of diet and ultimately why they might be unsustainable, but on the other hand it does pick and choose a bit in my opinion, and more could be said about the impact of eating certain combinations (eg, carbs and lipids at the same time). It's generally pretty honest though perhaps the affiliation with weightwatchers has been a bit detrimental, as I think it is a little too skewed towards a purely calorie counting approach. Nevertheless the best general one of those i read, and deffo worth a gander.

Hope this helps!

P.s. 6 days in, dropped 3.2pounds already, and havn't been sticking to my plan perfectly as this was my 'practice period' and I only officially started yesterday!!! Pretty happy!!! Exercise regime begins this week!!!

Thanks Skibum :D I shall look into them :D Well done on your loss ^_^

Today I didn't exactly stick to my cals again xD Last day at home, then when I got back up to my flat here I experimented loadsss with protein shakes....so now I know the best ones....and feel far too full xD :p Oh well....gotta go shopping tomorrow though, so now I know what to buy...all is good! :D

Plus GYM TOMORROW! YES!!! :D Happy days!

Have a good night everyone :) <3

Went on a looovely long run round the city: SOOO BEAUTIFUL AND LOVELY AT NIGHT!

Now I've just gotta pack up all my things and I can GO TO BEEEDDD :)
Should probably write a shopping list first, actually, so that I can get all I need tomorrow morning, then...as there is no naughty food here...apart from biscuits which I am going to hide until my roomies Birthday....I shall be a good dieting girl :p <3 Night Night! :)

Well I've run every day I've been back at uni! Which is a good thing! Except today....but I will go tonight...I went to the gym today! :D I also spent over £50 on Maxitone stuff....and when I went shopping I got about £13 of Whey protein (which I've already started using!)....thus I can definitely not give up as all of my Christmas money is GOONNNEEE...NOooo!!! :p Love a bit of motivation! :D

My diet has changed...for the better...I'm trying to give up fizzy drinks, so the Diet Coke has been replaced with orange squash...which is bitterly bitterly saddening, as not only have I given up my favourite liquid (which has LESS cal per 100ml than OJ!) but I had an AWFUL headache this morning....gotta admit I've had one 500ml bottle to get rid of that before gym...I was dying...DYING I TELL YOU!

I have also given up expensive veggie meals, as I am a poor student...and replaced them with baked potatoe, mixed veggies, low sugar low salt ketchup, and salt.....whilst my freezer is filled with WW puddings and skinny cow ice creams! (Come on....THEY WERE ON SALE! :p :D....I almost DIED WITH HAPPINESSSS)....and I had four vanilla rice puddings..but they mysteriously disappeared into my tummy.....The only bad thing is, as mentioned before, the biscuits....which have also been disapearing...but less often than usual! Hehe! :)

So far today I'm on about 774Cal :) Which isn't too bad I think! :) So hopefully I will STAY GOOD, and go on my run later :p Running is actually reminding me of the time I had this AWFUL PE teacher, and to test the fitness of the class she had us running around...the last person was the fittest, and we would be divided by when we dropped out...basically. I was quite chunky at the time, and could practically SEE her thinking 'MWHAHA she will be THE FIRST TO GO....'.....

...but I was all oohhh no, no no no, that would be embaressing TO THE MAX, and wanted to prove her WRONG. So, like a slap in the face, I stuck it out until I was the last person on the track. She was rather shocked, indeed she looked as though she had been slapped round the chops. Very amusing. She was rather nasty though, so I felt the need to prove chunky girls can still be fit-as.....especailly since the gym-crazy-guys were also running with us...mwhahaa. :) Happy times...

...So I've been for my run, had my little 'Definity' shake for toning (apparently ;)) And I'm on about 1,500Cal, so I'm stuffed, and finished food-wise for today! All my chores are done, and now all I've gotta do is some sit ups and press ups! Whey! Though to be honest, protein shakes make me a little bit hyperactive, so I'm thinking maybe I'll go for another run...if I can be arsed to later...I'll probably use up all my energy reading books for uni work though *sobsob*...also, I got a lot of CSI dvds for Christmas...so I may have to use up some energy watching those from the comfort of my bed :p Haha :p

I've also taken a Sculptress tablet...we'll see how much they help the loss...might start drinking Acai and Green Tea again soon....when I decide my stomach can handle the pain! :p <3

EDIT: Soooo hungry this evening, but I have avoided the biscuits, and instead had a plate of Banana and Apple. Wheyyy :)

sounds like things are going well mate, good effort... i read some interesting stuff over the past couple of days about alternative day fasting, which is apparently pretty epic for wieght loss and health in general. Genuinely I think I might be onto something with this - its nowhere near as brutal as it sounds (u dont have to go a single day without eating anything - u do a couple [or 3 if ur feeling ambitious] of 24 hr periods of not eating per week, but you do them dinner to dinner - i.e. you eat normally monday, begin your fast after monday dinner, then just eat tuesday dinner, eat normally wednesday etc etc) ... google it and see what you think, or check my weightloss diary as i wrote a post about it - my diary is called wideboy gets slim (or something like that)

Hi Skibum, I'll check out your diary and google later :D Sounds interesting...though I'm not sure I could even fast from dinner to dinner :p I am impatient? Hehe :)

Today I woke up not wanting to repeat yesterday's mistake of a high-cal brekkie, and accidentally had a HIGHER cal brekkie, which really has troubled me...however, one part of this was a protein shake, so I decided to make use of my hyperactivity from that and the penut butter, and went for a run :) A shorter run than usual, as it is freezing, so my asthma kicked off, but a run nonetheless! :D

Later I will go to the gym, then wonder down to the library to work with a friend, I think after I will go for a wonder down the town which should count towards my daily steps (going to start making a goal for them as well! :D) and go for another run this evening. Gunna keep it pretty low-cal from now on. I'm still trying to go down to 1,200Cal, but it's proving difficult. I might aim for 1,000Cal and so if I overshoot go into 1,200....today I seem to have more weight than yesterday, which worries me a little, but maybe it's muscle from gym work :) Oh well...

Hehe :) Thanks Laura...I'm starting to enjoy it...I'm still not very good :S But the scenery here is just sooo beautiful! A rooomie of mine wanted to do some running, so I'm hoping she wants to go running down the river...it's sooo pretty in the evening....but I'd rather not run along there on my own in the dark :p hahaha :p

So today I am on...er....956Cals and it is 3.04pm :) I've had two protein shakes (both Scuptress ones)....I've discovered that the Chocolate Sculptress shakes made with 50g protein and 200ml of Light Soy Milk are THE BEST THING EVER. Soooooo tasty! Maybe I'll just live off them? I wish I could afford to... :p Sooo expensive....but they are tasty and fill you up, so I'm hoping they will also help me with weight loss. I've read about them more now and green tea/caffine extracts are supposed to be very good, and as they are supposed to have them inside.....well...we'll see ;) :p I bought an incredibly expensive shaker (total rip off...but using it is more fun, quick and easy than using the blender then having to clean the bloody thing! So I think it's all good!)...it's actually way fun to use, and useful for the gym, so I pack a little sealable bag with two scoops of chocolate powder, then put my 200ml of milk into the shaker...and pack a spoon...then when I've finished at the gym, I stir the bag of powder into the milk, and shake it allll up, and drink it on the way back! Fab! Must start taking it for brekkie to uni too :) Very useful :p Quick. Simple. Fabulouus.

Plus I feel proppa sporty carrying round protein :p hahaha...even if it is in a very girly shaker ;) :p

Soo...I've also been to the gym...and wondered down to get more food from sainsburys...unfortunately I a) forgot the orange squash I really need, so it looks like I'll be down there again later/tomorrow, and b) accidentally saw red bull and diet coke on the sale stand due to the cans being squashed a bit...so 6cans of redbull at 40p each and one 30p can of diet coke was irreistable....soooo my giving up caffine isn't going to well...though I've only had 1 500ml bottle yesterday, and one can of redbull light, and one can of diet coke today....so water it will be until tomorrow now :p Lol xD Oh dearrr....

On the plus side, the only other things I bought were GOOD things :p I got two huuuugeass things of frozen veggies, my loovely shaker, two basics unsweetened soy milks, and two bigass bags of potatoes...wheyy! :D

EDIT: Had all my vitamin/Sculptress pills for the day :D Wheyy.
EDIT II: Just finished my day with a looong run and several biccies :p

I'm quite looking forward to Saturday, which will be my weekly weigh in :) At the moment, although I weigh myself every morning, it fluctuates, sooo I'm not going to say I've lost then come back tomorrow and find that this is not right :p I'll post each Saturday instead :D

I've decided to try and liquidate my diet a bit....so live off shakes instead of hard foods mostly, this is because my tummy seems to prefer this sort of diet, as I am always on the move, and heavy foods make me feel a bit icky, especially if I've gotta exercise....so I've started off today with a Slimfast Chocolate mixed with Chocolate Rice Milk :) And my vitamin and Sculptress Tablets :D :) Tasted really good! :D

Welll, I decided to have a 'real meal' for lunch...so maybe one meal a day...and then shakes for the rest of it :S Hmmm...

I've been to the gym as well now...happy times :)

I'm wondering whether anger or shock raise the metabolism....if they do, I am burning fuckloads of calories because the fire alarm keeps randomly going off which is shocking the fuck out of me, and also making me VERY VERY ANGRY. Yay.

Okay, so it didn't all go to plan....I'm ahbout....400Cal over what I wanted to be....so instead of 1,200Cal, I am at about 1600Cal which upsets me. I was feeling ill earlier so my run didn't go too well, and I ended up eating eggs and beans for dindins as I was all depressed...and lots of Skinng Cow ice cream....I think I'm just nervous about Uni again this monday. How troublesome, Plus I didn't sleep too well last night...and I haven't seen the boyf in about...oooh amost 2 weeks (again), so I kinda miss him :s Waaa. Oh dear. Hopefully tomorrow will be better :)
