Diary of a Doughnut.

My good friend Blancita recommended this site and so here I am.

To cut a long story short. Went to bed one night aged 14 slim and woke up the next day very chubby. As far as I recall it it was that fast  I've battled with small (ish) but significant amounts of extra pounds all my adult life but it got out of control when I stopped smoking 3 years ago and went up to 163. I battled my way back down to 145 ish at the beginning of last year but woke up on this New Year's Day at 158 again.

This time I've decided to take it slow, to get it off for good because I'm tired of it all and I want to learn how to actually live like this forever and just make healthy eating and choices my life. Having said that, I wouldn't mind if it wanted to come off a bit quicker :rotflmao:

Looking forward to getting to know some of you :)

Nice diary name, lol.

Welcome Doughnut! Do you have icing and sprinkles? :D

We have similar starting, current and goal weights. Mine is 165-146-125 :)

Good luck, you can do it

No - it's jam all the way!

Thanks for your post - always great to hear from a fellow Brit. We do indeed have similar stats and I wish I'd done what you're doing when I was your age. I don't know how long you've taken to lose those 19 lbs (will go visit your diary now) but it's only 2lbs off 1 1/2 stone which is a phenomenal amount of weight.

Welcome to your brand new diary!!!
I'm one more case of almost the same starting, current and goal weights, 161-146-133..
Started in January, concentrated on this for about 2 months, then lived for the next 3 (about maintaining), now one more month of dedication behind me.
Blancita was right to recommend WLF. This site has definite life saving qualities, if we only remember to log in on the right moment..
Have fun here! :)

Just popping by to say hi :)! I didnt know we had as much in common as we do (from PM).

I've just been cleaning and doing shopping, but finally sat down to a nice yummy ground chicken patty with lots of seasonings, some melted pepper jack cheese, and some mashed avocado. This is SO darn good I must have seconds:rotflmao:.

There are lots of us on this forum hitting a plateau around our weight, so we're in good company. We CAN do this, right??!

Did you manage to get any exercise in today?

Erm, (coughs and clears throat) got distracted I'm afraid. I am about to tackle a massive pile of ironing. Does that count? :D

It's taken me around two months to lose it. Maybe just over. I started off at losing 2lbs a week and then slowed down to one pound a week, which is healthy for me. I think at the beginning it was just water weight, people are telling me.

It doesn't matter if you didn't do it at my age, you're doing it now and thats what counts! :D:D

I would think a massive pile of ironing would indeed count. Keep the A/C off sweat out a few pounds (er, in England you all dont even have air conditioning do you?? :)).

What's on the exercise agenda for today? I usually dont manage anything on Monday's except a leisurely stroll through the park with my baby, but perhaps I'll TRY to get in a more vigorous 3 mile walk.

Hi Doughnut and belated welcome to the forum and txs for visiting my diary....took me so long to come by because I'm a bit of a slacker about visiting diaries on a daily basis...I'll go to one, then it makes me want to go to another...and so on until before I know it five million years have passed and I'm still at the keyboard...okay, slight exaggeration.:) Anyway.....yea, I vote for ironing piles of laundry as being exercise...unless performed sitting down while munching cookies:)

Ok so I'm not going to lie. I've had two awful days in a row - don't know why. Occasionally (actually, wish it was an awful lot more occasional than it is) I get a sugar monster head on and I eat junk for hours on end. I am emerging today, trying not to think about the damage and am praying for the strenght to dust myself off and start ober again tomorrow but am out for dinner tomorrow night and am worrying about that now!

Dont feel too bad Miss A, we all have days like that. We just need to come around here when we're having those munchy days, but sometimes there really is no stopping once you get started.

Well, time to start again and hope this time's the charm. I've been on track for 4 whole days, quite a miracle and a rarity. Right now I'm feeling very serious (like I do every week before I screw up), but who knows how long that will last. It does help to read the diaries of the people actually "doing it" to sap some of their motivation and energy.

Please let us know how you're doing tomorrow :hug2:.

Doughnut, we've found each other again and now I've gone and lost ya. Check in and let us know what's happening, even if its bad. Of course its hard to find the time to pop in here sometimes..

Be well :)
