Blah, I hate feeling full and yucky in my abdomen. I'm sorry you're going through that, but it'll be over in a few days. I hope you enjoy your run. :) The sun sets really early there! It's already 7:04 here and it's still completely light out.

Hello! Your boyfriend is cute :) Here's *raises wine glass* to cool boyfriends who know when it's time to clean the bathroom!!! ;)
Your food today sounds great! Sorry, I haven't been around much. Work is hectic! Hope to check in more tomorrow :)

You have such will power, I admire that! You also eat so well, and sounds like a lot of fresh organic stuff. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting really inspired by reading your posts, so keep showing me the way, and maybe you can help transform my eating habits :) I'm sorry your feeling bloated and irritated the last few days, sometimes it sucks being a women. But just think in a few days, you will be feeling great, and ready to rock and roll. Have a great day today!!! And keep up the good work!
Kim:D

Good morning Valerie! Running on the beach sounds so relaxing! In the summer, we like to take a picnic dinner and go to a beach in Del Mar called Powerhouse Park...big grassy area up above the beach to spread out a blanket and eat dinner and afterwards take a walk down the beach and walk it off! Perfect way to spend a summer night. I love the water.

Thank you Kim! Uh, I don't always have such will power!

Eating well is a practice, one that I haven't always had. I'd get into eating slumps of too much simple carbs sometimes. When I started writing everything I ate down about 104 days ago, I started to pay attention more to what I was putting in my body--and stared planning to make things balanced. Plus I found this website:
WHFoods: The World's Healthiest Foods
And I was really amazed and entertained with the vitamins and minerals and what they do for me, and from which foods they come. So I concentrated on making sure to chose those types of foods. It helps that I think most healthy foods are delicious!!
Thanks for the sympathy and well wishes!!!:D

Morning!! I don't think my pysche would be able to handle living inland. I'm addicted to that maritime influence--I can't stand 110 degree days in the summer!

whfoods is a really well done website - and very detailed about what each vitamin does and what foods will get you the biggest bang for you buck... you can lose hours just surfing around that site.. it's super interesting..

it sounds like you have great support system there curvie girly! My fiancé is of the same ilk. He's very supportive and tells me I'm beautiful daily and that he likes my figue being "womanly." The soles on my feet are behaving differently from the weight gain. Somehow the pressure is causing them to crack and bleed and makes walking difficult when it's bad. He rubs cream ito them to make them supple so they won't crack. It doesn't help that he can eat ANYTHING he wants and still only weigh 150! LOL! But it's nice that his feeling have not changed since we met. I was smaller than him on that day.

The trouble is NOW that I'm moving to England to marry him. I'm used to an abundance of healthy FAST options in Manhattan and LA. It was easier to "graze" all day on exactly what you need to be eating. In England I have to hunt for them...unless I cook every meal myself...and even then, I need to eat differently from my future husband. He requires WAY more calories than I do. I have a long hard road ahead of me. Their diets and lifestyles are just so different than ours, and the climate doesn't lend itself to the activities I'm used to. So I have to revamp my whole existence so it seems. Fortunately I have found that when you make a monumental life change, you don't notice all the smaller ones that go with it...so hopefuly I'll cope well without getting too frustrated.

Yesterday Night

Yesterday I went running in the forest, because I f-ed up when I did a search for the sunset--it was really light, even at 6:30, thanks Sunnydee. My only problem was I got an upset stomach halfway into it, and had to run, then walk, then jog, then walk back. Still, before the tummy ache I had been sprinting and doing extremely well. On the road to trying to place in that 10K. Only problem is I'm in the 24-27 age category and that is the most competitive. I think the winner last year was this 24 year old chick who averages 6.5 minutes miles!!!

The BF told me he got Red Snapper at the market for chesp, so I went and grabbed some things and made this:

Poured a can of Lite Coconut Milk in an iron skillet
Added 2 serrano peppers and chopped garlic
Added 2 Red Snapper fillets
lightly boiled, when about done added chopped mint, cilantro, and basil
Then I steamed collard greens with some of the sauce
Drained and ate.

I did add Kosher Salt because it was sort of bland. Then I freaked out about water rentention and sat in my bed, reading and drinking glasses of water until I felt sick.

This morning I am a very happy Curvie Girlie at 139.0 lbs

When my BF came to bed he was a little perved (drunken) and was very cuddly--and so was my cat!! My cat Oliver leaned against my left side, my BF had me pinned/spooned on my right side and although I liked the love, I felt claustrophobic for a little bit until I made my BF roll over.

This morning I had a Berry Wafflewich (2 whole grain Oatbran waffles with almond butter and berries in between) and some soy yogurt.

Here's a pic of my cat and my BF a year ago (after he had a haircut)

Good morning Curvie, its good to see you again and I love your new avatar. Nice boyfriend to rub your feet and clean the bathroom. And to give you the wine.

I really enjoy reading your posts. I like to get most of my calories in early too. I figure I'm doing good to get 1200-1300 in early in the day. Eating takes a lot of time and effort.

My birthday is tomorrow and I thought I'd enjoy some red wine. Wish I could drink one of your recommendations. Any California brands I should look for that might be sold here? Vancouver Island. Haven't had a drop since New Year resolution so I think I'll find it strong. Want to enjoy a few glasses but with no ill effects.

I had a boyfriend like that. It really is wonderful.

WOW!

You're poor feetsies!!:( Glad you have a great fiance! I don't know what to say about England--I wish you the best!

Lite coconut milk is apantry staple - even for non-curry eaters just mixed with some coriander, cumin and a bit of hot or sweet curry powder, it makes an awesome sauce for tofu or for grilled chicken - with just some mushrooms and a handful of fresh basil.. it's an incredbily versatile ingredient...

Thanks, Kelly! "Eating takes time and effort"--that's so true!
HAPPY ALMOST BIRTHDAY!!!
I have no idea about the selection in Vancouver. Find the nearest wine bar and ask the workers--they usually have to know what's good, but be sure and tell them what you like in a red; structure, smoothnest, silky on the palate, slightly sweet....I recommend a Sangiovese. Most people love that variatal, and winemakers can't mess it up too bad...usually.
Thanks! Gotta love him!

That was my problem!! I forgot the f-ing curry! Thanks Mal! :)

Yummy dinner, Valerie!

I sure can relate to the tummy-ache. Along with the lack of appetite...what I do eat feels like it just sits like a rock in my stomach for a half an hour...I feel like I ate too much....then the feeling leaves and I feel hungry...my remedy is to eat half as much at closer intervals...and that seems to be working this morning!

Actually Beth.....I didn't want to get graphic....um....well it's more of the D-word. But thank goodness I didn't have an accident! Never happened to me before on a run--and I'm so glad the park has a nice bathroom!!!!
