Thank you everyone!

Wow I am exhausted from trying to show everybody some love this morning!!

Outside is beautiful!! Yesterday was FUN!

I was slightly hung over because Friday night I was at the bar with my buddy, and this cute girl was hitting on him so we had to stay late, and I was really happy when she gave him her number! Yay! Go S.!! Anyway, at the bar there were 2 incidents that are pretty funny. I was wearing white shorts and my cute red 41/2inch cork-wedge-heeled pretty sandals. A group of girls in the bathroom said I had muscular thighs and really nice legs. I thanked them, and when I was walking past a group of guys, they also commented on my strong thighs. They asked, "do you do squats?"

And I said, "Actually, I do barbell squats AND Deadlifts." They appeared impressed. It was funny! I told my BF and he said, "Gee, it sure must be nice getting compliments all that time!"*slightly huffy*:p

Anyway, Saturday after getting my stats at the gym, I went running in the forest, but this was different--best run ever!! I ran my route non-stop (some of it is straight uphill and at times I have to walk quickly) and did sprints and ran really really fast when it was a gentle slope downhill. After I stopped, my heart rate went down immediately and I didn't need to catch my breath. So 50 minutes of running with sprints didn't even wind me! I'm so proud! I really am going to find a race to run for cancer. I'm looking forward to it!!!:D

Then me and L and B and BF went to the park and played Bocce Ball. Then me and the BF went to his parents house (in Big Basin, bumfuck of nowhere) for dinner. I inspired the dinner--Momma Cindy made pesto-tilapia wraps with avocado, chives, lettuce, mint, cucumbers, asparagus, shrimp,.....man the list goes on! Dessert was straberries, melon....wow they whole table was covered in whole foods. It was delicious! I ate and ate and ate. Too much! Couldn't stop, so I stuffed my mouth with asparagus, cucumbers, and strawberries. I opted for the low-calorie stuff to gorge on. Gorging is never good but if you must, gorge on raw fruits and vegetables!!

Anyway, we went to a bar with Dave, BF's foster brother, and his 3 rowdy buddies were there that I like so much! There was that one time when I hung out with Davey, Mikey, Dustin, and Josh and we terrorized Pacific Avenue! Yelling and singing, people staring. Yeah one of those nights. If you haven't guessed by now I'm naturally pretty wild

Well the bouncer at this bar has always been nice to me and never checks my ID because he remembers me. SO I bought him a drink! Bouncers seldom get drinks bought for them, probably, so I was trying to show him some love, too. He's a HUGE fella. Anyway, this weekend has been fantastic. I can hardly wait to see my mom and grandparents. I'm pretty sore from my run, and even though I'm not religious, since it IS Easter Sunday (Mexican grandma is Catholic, Native American grandpa is too but he also practices the ancient rituals as well), I'm going to skip the run I was thinking about and just get ready and drive to the Bay Area. Yeah!

Anyway, have a great Sunday and I'm sorry if you are reading this and I didn't get to your diary personally to wish you a happy Easter!

What an interesting tale of your weekend misadventures. It sounds like you had a lot of fun. Oh yeah, and such a cool family background with a Mexican abuelita and a Native American grandpa. With that said, I hope you have a fun time with the family and Happy Easter.

Happy Easter Valerie! Your weekend sounded like so much fun! Congrats on the beeeeutiful numbers (your stats!!) :)

Our new scales have similar measurements...when you go into that program, you're supposed to get on them with slightly damp feet...they measure, body fat, total body water weight, and muscle mass...in addition to weight. They also tell you your BMR (how many calories for that weight)...I can see my numbers changing each week.

I weigh each morning, but only do the "whole schabang" once a week...and take my measurements once a week....

anyhoo....hope you are having a great day with your family!

I hate how I'm missing so much of what's going on here. DAMN EXAMS!!! I'll be back in action soon enough. Anyway, your body assessment results are amazing. 0 lbs of excess fat... must be one damn good feeling! Way to go.

At my grandpa's! Found some pics--really funny picture I found cracks me up. In Native American Women class at UCSC, we were told that us Injuns marry 50% out of our race. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, but I saw this picture of my great aunt, her husband, my great uncle's wife, him, my gandma, and my grandpa, my grandpa's youngest brother, ans his wife, and I laughed! All of them married a non-Native! You might not think it's funny but just understand my sense of humor--good picture too!

Well that's a great compliment! He is extrememly fit and youthful, energetic and hilarious. BUT his problem is, of all things, high cholesterol. I don't get it. I really don't. Must be the meat and animal products he consumes. I figure I should pay attention to all my granparents' problems: breast cancer, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, and atrial fibrulations (mom's mom, mom's dad, dad's dad, dad's mom, respectively.) So it looks like I'll have to: eat right, avoid fatty foods, get enough calcium, exercise regularly, and drink in moderation. Not a guarentee, but I believe it's the best I can do as far as preventative measures. Other than get physicals and OBGYN appointments.

Thanks Daise! I will post pics of my family later today...:)

Hi, Valerie -- great family pic. You must have some great stories from that group. My mom has cholesterol off the charts -- over 280. She'll be 97 this December. So sometimes it doesn't mean that much.

Exhausted and Ashamed

Since Thursday, I've been on a daily binge of over-eating. I'm pretty sure. I also have been working out a lot but I still suspect I ate too much every day. I didn't even track my calories. I fell flat off my back off the wagon and limped along weakly to try and catch up, just barely crawling on by my teeth this morning. I don't even want to report my weight this morning.

The important thing is that I'm determined to continue on. Another important thing is I've been over-eating really healthy foods, at the very least. Maybe a bit too much chocolate, but still--I don't do fast food, I still didn't eat bread or candy (except chocolate), and I haven't touched fried foods. That is my excuse. I guess.

At least i had a great time the eintire time! Lots of fun. Just this damn luteal phase, makes me RAVENOUS. The men who may be reading this might see that as a lame excuse. And they could be right, but I swear the appetitie is controlled by a force stronger than my mental reasoning. Either way, I'm determined to go back on my diet this week. The ravenousness has seemed to pass.

I'm so worn out-feeling, don't be offended if I don't make it to your diary today. I'll try my best....
