They told me to pull up a chair, and I was invited to drink and eat for free, as my co-workers busted their asses around me. Ugh, I'm sort of a "pet" employee because of my other job, and also because the owner adores me. Whatever, I can't help that, I can only try to make more $$$ with being "in" in this industry that is known as Hospitality.

LOL, that's a good position to be in!

Say, when's your next race?

Hey CG this is just a random thought...but if you were lifting heavy during the period when you put on the 10 pounds...isn't it more than likely that there's some added lbm along with the fat...so as you go back to weight loss you'll end up with a lower bodyfat % (and even better definition) than you started with before 10lb gain?...so in the end you could say something like "oh, I didn't gain weight really, I just did a little bulk 'n cut so I could get even hotter!"

YEAH, how long will it take us to get a passport?? THREE YEARS?? LOL LOL

I got mine in 1999 and it's good til 2009!

Good morning! Good luck on your wharf to wharf on Sunday!!!! :) :)

Thanks Bethann!!!

TOM: Next race is Sunday, 6 miles, Wharf to Wharf, Santa Cruz to Capitola along the ocean. My first W 2 W.

LOL, yeah I was lifting heavy but there's no way I possibly put on 10 lbs of muscle!! I may have put on 1....either way after I settle into my new place the stress will go down and I'll be able to "cut" again.

Valerie Update

Sigh, relief! Last night I saw a room in a beautiful house. The owner lives in a cottage next door and he's really nice and chill. He has traveled the world and still does. He has perfect lighting and really expensive nickknacks and furniture and art from around the world. There are 2 women that live there, 1 30 and 1 35--perfect! No noisiness and there is a cleaning schedule they follow. I LOVE that!! I can:
a. sleep well
b. have a clean, gorgeous house
c. not worry about men
The house is situatuated in the Aptos hills, not too far from my work. I may start biking to work. The view is spectacular, there is no traffic (the road deadends shortly after the house). The back deck overlooks a WINERY, ha ha ha ha ha! So I can walk down to the tasting room. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! The rent is $620/month, month to month so I can leave if i find something better.

I'm so happy! :)

well not all europeans but i do get almost 21 day (working days off course- which s almost a month). we also have great pregnancy leaves - 40 days before you're due and then 12 months :D

but we have problems with salaries and such so...i wish i had american wage and still live here :D i would be on top of the world.

That ROCKS, you were able to find such a great place, with women too, YES! I hope it turns out to be a PERFECT FIT, it sounds like it so far! And a view too, YAHOO, you hit the gold mine I think on this one. Good for you!

Thanks everyone!

Rent is %28 of my income for my first job--that is just fine.

My landlord has a couple motorcycles--he may teach me!

My cat is ok to live there and I can take the screen off my window to let him in and out.

I move in a week from now, giving me a week to get all my stuff over and clean what with work and all.

About the BF: I'm not even worried about it, because for a while I was crying like every night when I thought of not living with him (while he comforted me) but now I don't feel sad--I'm happy that I get to sleep in! (he wakes earlier than I do and I can't get back to sleep).

I will be living 8.73 miles from my work--which is better than now, 12.68! Riding a bike (no HWY) will be 9.05 miles--totally doable some days of the week!!!

I will be 2 miles away from the Restaurant I work at :D

Hey Val, just trying to catch up on you. The room sounds fabulous and the rent definitely affordable. I also like the cleaning schedule, sounds very fair. And you should get low drama with ladies in their 30's. How far is this place from your current location and wherever BF is planning on going? BTW, you look gorgeous as usual in your avitar. Its hard to see the bangs though, any other pics that I may have missed while on holiday?

Ok I agree about the avatar first of all, I think it's so adorable. Secondly, this situation sounds PERFECT! You're paying less than I do for a crappy apartment built in the 70's. Your 'amenities' so to speak are great, as is the location. I'm so happy for you!!! Also good luck on your wharf to wharf race I think that sounds beautiful, it's fabulous that you enjoy the races so much ;)

From my current location? I dunno a few miles. BF is going to San Jose somewheres.

The pic is from February, LOL! I don't have current pics, I've been avoiding them!! My skin is bad right now due to stress--later, later!

Thanks Bethann and Sara!!!!!:)

Bummer

Ugh.........today after work I went for a run at the Redwood Park I always do. I was feeling good. But my ankles were slightly tired. I mentally told myself it wasn't happening. I did my 5 1/2 miles. I decided to do another 2--I did a route I never did before. I ran straight uphill. When I got to the top, I was singing some dope-ass lyric and........

 I sprained my ankle!!!

Oh, my precious WLF friends, I crumpled to the forest floor and prayed for 5 minutes that it wasn't broken.....or really badly sprained. Then I sobbed for TEN minutes, "Oh now I can't do the Wharf to Wharf!"

I was way out there.....so I limped and cried and sat down, and limped and cried and sat down until I made it to the lower trail, where I grabbed a stick and used it as a staff. I made it to my car and crawled into my room and sobbed and sobbed, imagining me on my ass for weeks, eating and getting fat because I can't exercise. (Mind you, it did not hurt!)

THEN........I grabbed my precious book and looked up ankle sprains. What a relief! It's no big deal!!! And I can deep water run, like I have suggested to other people on here, and stay in shape!! My ankle is hardly swollen at all!!! No bruises!! Not yet, anyway. I just felt a good crunch when it happened is all. But no swelling. Anyway, after reading that I realized, even though I cannot run wharf to wharf this year, my ankle will be fine in probably 10 days and it's no big deal. No need to be a Drama Queen about this. Sure, I am crushed :( But there's always next year. I called my gramps and told him, while I won't be able to run with him, I'll be waiting for him at the end. :) So it will be all right.

I am not going to work tomorrow, I'm still a little bit drama and therefore I want a day to sulk.

So sorry about the ankle, Val. Wow, first a bee, and now this! But that is so great you found a way to deal with the situation. Good for you! Yes, you deserve your "drama queen" day!
