Right.

My story goes like this: 26, engaged, previously 97kg, got down to 68kg from with the assistance with Cohens. I moved interstate and with weather changes being dramatic, i put on weight (fluid) but some is weight weght. Up to 77kg. I range from 74-77kg. I am now commensing Optislim. I am unsure as to if its the right one for me since its dramatically low calories- 800. Thats if u use the 3 meals a day. Im using the 2 sachets and then have my main meal. If i cope well with the 2 i can then change to the 3 in a wk or so. But, its expensive to do. I am lucky we have a chemist who does 2 for $55. Almost a mth worht for the 2 sachets.Im not too fussed- as long as it works.

Main Reasons- I have become bloated and several episodes of severe abdominal pain resulting in a collapse mid-air on the wkend which drs cant find cause for. Not sure if a gall bladder issue- they dont think so. I thought if i could drop at least 10kg, i might help this pain, i might feel a lil less bloated. Im 5'6 and should be around 60-62kg. I wld ideally like 65kg.

Also i am going in for my 3rd knee recon + patella realignment in October so i wld like to get as much excess weight off as possible as i need to limit overusing the leg and the less weight i am carrying the better. Esp for crutches usage and a dodgy shoulder is going to be difficult in addition to any excess weight i dont really need to have. Been there and done it before so i kinda have some experience. I do however have concerns that i have been told to eat high protein and iron (lots of red meat and greeen vegies prior to surgery to assist with the healing) pre surgery and im not sure how this diet will affect it. Maybe i will go flat out until 2wks before the operation. Its around 3mths to the day (7days to go ) so that gives me what- 10wks to eat to lose then 2wks to eat to heal. Add some iron tablets too.

Goal: I wld ideally like to be 69-70kg by the end of July. I know its a big ask but with fluid tablets im norm 75kg so 5kg isnt al that much.

I am just a lil sick of buying clothes and a couple of week sthey dont fit me. Im in stuff from size 10 to size 14 and one pair is a 16. How can this be.... I dont over eat, if anything i skip meals whihch i think is half of my issue. Atleast with this Optislim I may regain a regular eating pattern. I guess i have nothing to lose except, a few $$ and the possibility to lose a few kg if it works. I just have to remember to be patient.

Anyone tried this shake process??? If so, i welcome u to tell me your experiences and any ideas u may have to get the results I want and so desperately need.

I was going to have MAIN meal at lunch but my fiance has said to have the main one at dinner- he is making a chicken soup. I am a lil bit torn. I can sit and have a shake while he eats. But i think he wants to share a meal not just the timeslot of sinner. I will get there. Just have to find a routine that fits.

Keep u updated. I will use this tool as a diary to get all my ideas, feelings and frustrations out. Hopefully i dont bore too many. Atleast if i vent here, i might actually help someone. If thats all i do, worth every minute spent writing it.

Hi Dee! Congrats on starting your diary. I'm not too familiar with the diet plans you are on but I think you will do great. I wish i had better advice but all I can say is that you sound determined and you can reach your goal! Is a kg = 2.2 pounds?

800 Calories seems really really low but since i'm not familiar with the plan I can't say much about it. Anyway, welcome and I am sure you will do great.

Thanx. Yeah something like that 2.45ib or smthign. Its a shake based program. Ur meant to use the 3 shakes for the days meals but it is actually like less then 500cal a day. I am shocked its that low. I thort it was 800. Well, i have removed one shake and made a proper meal instead. So i am having 300cal for the 2 shakes and whatever main meal is. My fiance said maybe 600. I dont know. Its just chicken soup with vegies and small pasta stuff (like whats in chicken noodle soup), corn and herbs and stock. Have a decent bowl. Not seconds tho. It is filling enough. Im meant to have 2cups green vegies too but i cant have it. Just not agreeing with me. Maybe i should put it in the soup??? I am having a bot of coke zero (??really sugar free? its like 2cals a cup) so im adding about 14cals. Almost not worth worrying about. Atleast i know i can do it. I lost 30kg on last program ( a blood test based) but its too restrictive. I have 10kg to lose. I am having major leg surgery in early October so the less weight im carrying the better i will be able to move around. Im about 173ib (75-77kg) so i have 10kg to get off me in 2.5mths. Need 2wks on high iron/protein diet before op. Will try and get here and keep on top of this diary.

Its late so im off to bed. Another day to look forward to- shakes and soup!! Yay.

Another day!

Well, another day of diet.

Meals: 2 shakes and a footlong subway. Bowl of deritoes. I kinda think along the lines of im only consuming 320cals with the 2 shakes put together so.... I also dnt know true valu of subway though. I cant have consumed more then 1000cals today!! Oh shivers- add a single apple pie my fiance gave me. I honestly dont think its too bad. If im under the 1200 cals i will lose the weight, maybe just a lill slower. I am eating more then i did before the weight loss program so.

Does any1 know the value of subway? I had a Italian Herbs and Cheese roll, chicken teriyaki, salad (no carrot, beetroot) and small amount of sth west sauce. I didnt eat the whole lot- 3/4.

I havent drunk much water though. More Coke Zero. I no its got sodim in it (1.8cals per serve so- prob 10cals) - so its prob not gr8 for me but hey.

I will try tomorrow to drink more water. I do try i just get lazy. Its almost easier to grab the soft drink from the fridge! ALso it taste better. I have to try and focus on the end result. I wil try. Tomorrow is another day. Also though i retain alot of fluid and am on fluid tablets from GP so that also plays a game in head- more fluid i drink, the more tablets i will have to take.

Its always harder if ur the only one in the house trying to lose weight. But i did do the right thing by getting Subway, not asian or a fast food meal. I needed substance without the fat. I think i did a gd job. I prob cld have gone the 6-inch rather then the large. But its done.

Hopefully take the dog for walk tomorrow arvo. Day of house work will get the metablism going-vaccuming, mopping, washing, cleaning bathrooms etc. So any damage tonight will be alleviated by the thort i have done sm exercise to compensate.

Water is my friend!

Today has been ok. I had my 2 shakes, i had a small bluberry muffin, handful of deritos and lasagna for dinner and 3.5litres of water. I cant believe i drank that much. I struggle normally. I have been doing the washing, dishes and tidying the house. I have the vaccuming and mopping to do. Wld like to do the bathrooms but dont see me having the energy to do all of it. PLus the ironing. Tomorrow i plan on having homemade chicken and vegie soup for tea along with the 2 shakes during the day. I am trying to have less in main meal. Majority of it is healthy and we know whats gone in it having made it ourselfves.

Its hard to calculate the calory value. I just hope its not going over the 1000cals a day. I no its not much however i do only have a short timeframe to lose it. Also i am not overly active so i dont really need all that extra energy values. Ive dropped it by 500cals. A whole choc bar or 2. Not much really. I havent had much diet drink today. 2 small glasses. Ive done well. Just hope the scales on thur will say the same thing. I drink a litre of water over night to help kickstart that process of flushing kidneys and stuff.

Dog school in the evening will provide me with some exercise to thats something. ANd gd for my dog too! Im sure he thinks im lazy! I just dont get the time to do it. Im struggling with my leg- waiting for a knee recon and patella realignment so its toss up- get house tidied/cleaned or do i go for a walk with the dog and be screwed with pain for the next wk. What wld u chose??

Well, tomorrow is another day right?
 
Lifes a long journey

Well.

This morn i stepped on scales. Im 75.3kg. Is 2kg weight loss and i was stoked. My fiance is in army and is away bush so i decided to alter the way in which i actually stagger my meals. I have shake for breakfast, have main meal at lunch and then for dinner, i have my last shake. My stomach is appreciating the change too- not going to bed on a FULL stomach. That can only be beneficial. ANd its the only day i have really lost much weight so i dont know if its a coincidence or fact. I also cut down on my diet drinks. I am unable to stomach much now- Its hurting my stomach. I can actually feel the bubbles in my tummy a few seconds after swollowing and it hurts a lil bit. Maybe this will help my tummy woes and help to lose weight. Im having about 800-900cal a day. It might nt sound much but i am at home all day with little activity so i truely dont need much. Mondays i take dog to dog school so its the only day except wkends im out and about. I was sweating it monday night so i must have worked a bit.

TOday- i had shake, half a pie (it was yuk so cldnt finish), 5 salt vinigar chips (just didnt feell hungry) and a few sticks of lolly things (like the musk sticks). Had an iced coffee (600cal). Waiting til 7.30pm to have the final shake. I have had lots of fuid. I need to drink a lot of water i know. I am trying. I do add diet cordial and its like a capful to 1.5lt water so not much but plain wld be better. Atleast im trying. Iv kinda got it in my mind that 'only i can do it'.

Im flying back to Adelaide 1.30am monday so my diet may be put into jeopardy a little. I still hope to have my shakes. Mite need a small funnel to put into a purchased bottle of water. It sux when ur onto a gd thing and then u have a trip ahead of u and it means long flights and bus trips. Its ok but i just have to keep my eye on the prize being the 10kg.

I did go outside to play with dog and went to throw a toy and as i wound up the arm and came down, he jumped and went to grab toy but my hand still had al that energy still travelling. SO now i have a sore hand- tendon ontop of middle finger is grabbing me- i think its either bruised or the bone too. Wen i clentch fist, its ok but as i release it it hurts major. And when i use the fingers. That will teach me to play throw with the dog!

Well, another day tomorrow. I have to get up early for a physio apptmnt for the bung leg (waiting for a knee recon and patella realignment in Oct) and chiro and a GP aptmt i have a reason to stay on the wagon. I figure if i dont have time to sit and eat then the shake is my saviour. It takes 30secs to make, 30secs to consume and then ready to go!

ANyone else doing a shake diet?? ANy ideas or tips?? Its OPTISLIM.

Today i had-

Shake for breaky, pasti for lunch (3/4 didnt eat all) and i just had glass of milo. I have not had dinner and tossing up whether i should have a shake or just a small bowl of pasta. I know i should just have a shake. Im trying to keep to this diet. But when ur on less then 1000cals a day its not easy to make decisions such as this. Ive had prob 600cals today. 700 at a push.

How do u transform KJ to calories?? Is there a simple way?? I know some foods have them on the packaging like cals in brackets under the KJ levels. But when u are not geting it from a pack its difficult to estimate their valus if u have no idea to start with. Does anyone feel just as confused???

Tomorrow i want to have my two shakes and then have meal with fiance when he gets home from bush (he is in the army). I think its easier to be on diet when he is away. I dont feel obliged to eat what he makes. Its never bad food, but prob too many calories then i should have for dinner. He is a really gd cook, but it doesnt always equate to a low calorie value. I have small portions. Iv had no bad food today. Norm i have a few chips but today i did well. Prob cos i dont have any in the cupboard. Thats the key!! Hehe. Fiance isnt gunna be happy tho- there were salt n vinigar chipes and pizza shapes before he left for bush and now- NONE. But thats ok. I will deal with that wehn it happens. He cant expect everything to be there the entire time he is away!!

Oh well, dinner time. MMMMM. PAsta or shake. Im torn. Ughh. I cld always have 2 shakes- only 150 cals each. Oh no. thats not the idea of it all. Have to decide soon. Its nearly 8pm. Almost too late for pasta. Cook it quick. EEK. I hate diets. I hate the choice. WHat the hell. I will have a small bowl of pasta. its not too bad , is it??

Another day another beginning

Well. Today has been ok. I hhad shake for breaky, went to the physio, gym, then had shake for lunch. Done several loads of washing, hung on the line (norm chuck in dryer!) and then brought it in and folded. Organised or what! I have had 3cans of coke zero. Or was that 4. I honestly cant remember. Been busy so lost count but no more then 4. I am making steak and roast vegies. Only a lil bit of oil. Pumpkin, potato (small), zuchinni and carrot. By the time they shrink when cooked, it wont look much anyway. My fiance came home from bush and thought it wld be nice to cook tea. Im leaving for a cple of wks interstate so. Also i have been so organised today, i thought i might as well keep the ball rolling.

Tomorrow we have to clean the house so i will def get some sweaty exercise with vaccuming and moping. I just want to have it done before i leave then if its not the same when i get back, i no he hasnt done it! Sneaky huh. We have to start being a lil more ontop of it all. We get so sidtraked it eventually needs to be done. And i am putting foot down. i was a lil cheeky and asked him to do the mopping and he was like 'Now??' I was chuckling- i new he wld argue the point. He promises he wil tomorrow. Lets wait and see. Battle each and every time and i just do it. Are any other males so lazy and defiant?? I love him but come on...... we all use the house, wear the clothes, use the bathrm......

Anyways i think my so far calories would be approx 350 today. Prob hit 700 after tea. It might sound low but i am on the VLCD (very low calory diet) so it is meant to be low. I am for my height and age and weight etc suggested to be on a 1600 cals a day. I am in a rehab program for leg injury so i dont actually require extra calories as im pretty much at home most of the time. Hopefully i can maintain the VLCD over the wkend, and while i travel interstate monday morn for 10days. I will hopefully be stringent. I really pray i will be strong enuf. Im pretty strong willed so if i can cold water for shakes i will be A.O.K.

Well, here goes for tea......
