Deciding on dumbbell weight (forearms)

Hi,

how does one determine which dumbbell weight is best? I'm primarily interested in training my forearms, because they are as thin as a stick ;)
So, what's the perfect weight I need to get?

Also, is there any advantage of buying two dumbbells instead of just one?

Any suggestions about the exercise itself? I was gonna do regular + reverse wrist curls, but I'm a total newbie.

How many reps / sets should I do?
How much time in between each set?
How many times a week?

Thank You

It would be better if you trained your whole body, and followed the basic rules,
but to answer your question if you only want to train your forearms:

Use weight that is so heavy that you'll be able to do 6 to 12 reps, if you can do more than 12 reps, the weight is too easy which means you should add more weight.

If you're planning to do regular and reverse wrist curls, do 3-4 sets for each exercise, around 6 to 12 reps, rest 1 minute sets.
Do this for one day, then rest for two days, then do it again, and so on.
However I seriously doubt you're gonna have much success with this.
I suggest reading the stickied in the weght training part of this forum, and getting more informed.

A well rounded routine will provide the forearms with enough work. No need to isolate them.

Deadlifts, chinups, lunges and step-ups (with dumbbells) will all work your forearms from holding onto the bar.
