So I guess this is the beginning of my journey. I'm convincing myself that this will be a permanent change for the better. So deep breath and here we go!

Hips: 110cm (they used to be in proportion to my bust :()

I started the July challenge of losing 10pounds, though I was originally going to start my diet on Monday as I have a weekend of partying with the girls which makes it difficult to control and measure intake. Instead of writing the weekend off I'm going to make healthy choices where I can from now till Monday.

My method of attack from Monday onwards will be calorie counting and exercise. Which will either be walking the dog or using the cross-trainer at least 4 times a week. Cause of how dark and cold the nights are right now I think I'll be leaning towards the cross-trainer for a little while.

Goals:
1. I'm determined to wear short-shorts by Defqon (Hardstyle festival) on 18th September this year! This is my short term goal as I'm very self conscious about my thighs so I can't wait till I can wear short skirts and shorts :)
2. Be able to wear my ring on my pointing finger (or even getting it resized). At the moment it fits on my ring finger cause I have fat fingers :( But that will change!
3. Get to the point where I don't suck my stomach in out of habit.
4. Fit into size 10, then maybe size 8. (Right now I'm a 14 bordering on 16 for pants)
5. Run/jog for 30mins outside without dying.

My partner is really supportive and gives me incentives. For every 5kgs I drop he will take me somewhere special :) When I get down to 80kgs he is also going to start training so he can bulk up. He is naturally thin and fit, I guess that makes me a bit more self conscious but he loves me as I am, whether I'm the size of an elephant or can fit a size 8.

Woah that was long. But it's okay. I'm going to use this diary to keep track of my fitness and what I eat from Monday onwards. So glad I found this site, the stories and pictures have given me the motivation I needed. I want to post before and after pics in a few months.

Now I'm hungry so I'm off to have a bowl of salad with balsamic vinegar, yum yum!

It's Tuesday morning here and everything has been going pretty well. I have to learn how to leave food in my plate though. I still have the mentality of cleaning the plate no matter what. Gah. But I'm using portion control to help that problem though.

I made healthier choices on the weekend when I went out, but I did drink a decent amount of alcohol and should have drank more water. But I was jumping around and dancing all night so hopefully that made up for it. My official strict day was yesterday, and it wasn't so bad. Didn't get any headaches like I used to get sometimes when I was dieting before. Only ate when I was getting hungry which was good and "dinner" was snacking on celery because I wasn't really hungry.

Monday
muesli with light milk: 275cal
2 cups tea with equal: 15cal
Tuna sub (no cheese, all salads and sweet onion sauce on multigrain): 375cal
1/2 mandarin: 20cal
1 cup berry tea with tspn honey: 22cal
celery: 40cal
500ml water

Total: 747cal

No exercise yesterday, didn't have time. Will make and effort today to find time to exercise. That doesn't seem like a lot to eat to me but I only ate when I was hungry and didn't starve myself so maybe that's okay? I think I would of had a bigger dinner if I had exercised beforehand. I need to drink more water. I'm keeping a bottle with me always and will aim to have 4 bottles (2.4L) a day. Or less if I have tea. As long as I'm taking at least 2L of water a day I think it'll be good.

Also, I'm making sure I take 5mins out of the morning to have muesli before I leave to work. It's only half a bowl but I get more energy the rest of the day. I've found if I don't much at night or too late at night either I wake up with an appetite which is awesome! I used to eat to procrastinate and out of boredom too so I guess I'll have to start studying after work, so this lifestyle change will be a benefit to my grade too! Haha!

Good news is that when I woke up the morning my tummy didn't stick out as much. That's just one little change I've noticed and it's only been a couple of days so yay! Now when I incorporate exercise I hope I can shrink. I have a pair 14 skinny jeans that I want to get into soon without my hips sticking out over the edge!

I'll put up pictures soon so I can keep better track of how my body changes.

Wooo! All is going well! I have a feeling I'm going to lose 10pounds this month! (hopefully more :))
 
So yesterday I wasn't as good as I had hoped. Had a friends birthday dinner so I had some pizza and cake and didn't exercise.

I guess it could have been worse, but it could have been better too. Still dealing with leaving food on my plate. Gah. When my friends said, "come on, have another slice" I should have said no. It's okay, it's my first little slip up, I won't give up.

I noticed I woke up with no appetite and I'm not really hungry. Bad side to eating more towards the end of the day.

I'm getting the 30-day shred! Can't wait to try it out! But I can't do push ups for the life of me. That's alright, one day at a time! Need an incentive to exercise during winter. My house is so cold I just want to stay in front of the heater all night.

In other news I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. It's getting addictive. Will start watching True blood soon :)
 
Crap, I wrote my post but it didn't go through. Oh well, here we go again.

Yesterday was good. I finally got some exercise in! Also I got my boyfriend to take photos so I can track progress. I had to take a breath or two before I could let my stomach out for the photos. It was weird cause I'm used to always holding it in to some measure. I want to get to the point where its always flat and taut without me holding it in.

No way in hell I'm releasing those photos till I can put the in the Before and After section. My brother is starting to eat healthier and diet too once he realised he went over 100kgs. But he carries his weight on his stomach predominantly. Mine is more spread out but more-so on my hips, thighs and butt. Anyway, back to the food bit.

Oh my god I was so out of shape. That's what 2 months of no dog walking does to you. I was a bit hungry before I exercised and came off it a bit dizzy. I think next time I'll have an apple or something a bit before I jump on.

Mmmm I'm hungry now, think I'll grab some yogurt.

My bro went over 100kg...but didn't start eating healthier like yours did. Think hes probably up to 120ish by now :eek: So well done for your brother taking good steps!

Thats because you didn't eat that much! I would suggest you take a look around the stickies but I think you can eat more cals that you are. I'm 70kg at the moment and eat about 1600 cals a day! My ticker only shows the last couple of kg..but I started out at 97kg and didn't track what I ate back then as I was losing.

Hah, yeah I realised this. I've definitely upped my intake of food. Don't worry, there was no stepping over the line.

My brother has to make his own decisions to do stuff, if I suggest he exercises or eats less he won't listen. But at least I can control some of his meals as I'm the one cooking :)

Oh, and I live in Sydney! Though I have a few friends that live in melbourne as well. I'm aiming for that bikini body for when it starts getting warmer. Winter is so coooooold now.

Yeah my brother just has to figure it out for himself- I don't cook for him. My parents do who are also overweight.

I weighed myself today and I'm 83kgs now! Holy shit I lost around 3kg in a week. I want to get an electric scale so I can be more accurate though. Dad broke my old one :(

Did a Zumba class yesterday with a couple of friends. It was fun! Got pretty tired after it but could feel it working different parts of my body. Going to do it every week.

Hi Mr Diary *guilt face*

So the last two weeks have been an bender and I've undone all the good work I had achieved before that *sigh* I'm not gonna go into it, but I'm back on track now. I don't want to weight myself yet though. I think I'll wait till the end of the month and maybe it'll be good. I'm staying positive! Going to see inception tonight so I won't be exercising before hand but I'm going to hop on the cross trainer while I watch some TrueBlood after. Yay TrueBlood!

So I didn't do any exercise yesterday. Not good but I didn't overeat either.

My daily calorie intake will be 1200cal, I'll allow up to 1400 if I'm incorporating some exercise that day.

I can't wait for the day I can wake up and my tummy isn't hanging out over my pants and my hips are smooth instead of a "muffin top"

Ooo... watched inception yesterday! I'm proud I didn't buy anything at the candy bar and I took my sugar free cream n soda in with me (plus some water). Think I may take some carrots if I want to munch on something next time. I made the mistake of taking a tub of salted nuts last time and I didn't measure out quantities so I binged on the nuts and that started my downhill spiral. I'm not going back to that again!

Anyway, it's just the beginning of what I hope will be a productive day.

I'll blog later tonight about my food intake.

So I did my first day of the 30day shred. Oh man... so much harder than it looks! I had to stop it half way through because I had a visitor but I resumed in 5mins later. Can't wait to see what the results are after a month. I'm determined to stick to this.

My brother went to eat pho tonight. I was tempted but I'm happy I said no. I still can't trust myself and that would have taken me over my daily calorie intake.

Zumba tomorrow! I'm excited! I'm going to do the shred as well as soon as I get home so I'll have some rest time before zumba. It's fun exercising/dancing with friends. I only remember Zumba is exercise when I'm panting and begging for water like a dog.

BUT I did throw myself in the mosh and got coated in sweat (mine as well as others lol) so I don't feel too guilty that I missed a day cause I will get caught up on it tonight.

:willy_nilly: This weekend will be so busy! I have to go shopping straight after work to buy stuff for the bbq I'm holding tomorrow and then I have to clean the house (my room is WW3 at the mo') and go to farewell drinks! I'm not going to drink a lot tonight and I think I'm going to stick to fruity rather than milky cocktails.

Tomorrow I'm going to relax a bit eating wise and I'm going to have a slice of the sticky date pudding I'm going to make and bbq food. I'm aiming not to over-eat though! Tomorrow will be a challenge :D

Might have been a bit more calories than that. I estimated with the sticky date... I made it myself and it was so yum but hard to determine calories. Didn't need the 2nd piece or the ice-cream or more that one cup of coffee. I'm still quite full. But I knew this was my "meal off" so I'm pretty happy I didn't blow out too much. AND I did the shred this morning and I was moving around the houser all day cooking and cleaning so I burnt some of the calroies off. Didn't have much water though but I have a lot of sugar free soft drink. My pee is going to be sooooo dark tomorrow.

Back to my routine tomorrow and I'm going to Zumba as well so extra burning!

I'm going to aim to wake up early and do the shred before I head to work.

Other than that I'm happy!!! I'm not letting my little over indulgence on dessert ruin everything :D

I did do a lot of arghile today... though it doesn't add calories I think... but it probably ruined my lungs lol. Funny how I don't smoke (except when drunk) but I'm fine with arghile. Hehehe! I'm just so happy my bbq went well! I'm going to take the left over sticky date pudding to work tomorrow so I don't have it tempting me at home.

So... not happy with the exercise I did yesterday. Did a little in the morning. I came home from work, had dinner and thought I would get some study in before doing the 30DS but ended up crashing out in front of the heater. So my plan for tonight is to get home, shred, THEN have dinner and study. I'll have a small snack as work finishes or in the car on the way home to keep me going.

Other than that I'm pretty happy with the way things are going. I'm avoiding weighing myself until Friday morning for the August challenge and Sunday morning for the Group Challenge. I'm noticing the bumps on my hips are slowly getting smaller :D Might try doing some belly dancing tonight as well to boost exercise.

Also my boyfriend and all his mates are going to the gym now and are working on building muscle so I'm going to try and sneak in a couple of photos of him for my before and afters. Also it's great when we go out cause I have all these growing boys to eat any leftovers. Hehehe.

I'm sort of scared about my weigh in this Friday morning. What is I haven't lost anything? No... can't think like that!

I'm hoping when I jump on there I will be 81 or less *crosses fingers*

I've noticed my jeans are getting looser. I first got them when I just came back from overseas so I was around 88/90 kgs. I'm going to try on my other jeans (the ones I couldn't fit into yet) this weekend. I'm on my way to a 12... then a 10... and MAYBE an 8 depending upon how I look as a 10.

Lex got protein powder today. It was so cute cause he was sore from the gym. He is there training now with his mates. I'm happy he is going. I sorrt of wish I could do that but I don't like gyms. Took me long to figure out that one too lol. I much prefer exercising at home if it's cold or outside with the dog if its warm. I want daylight savings to return soon so I can walk him again!

This friday I have a rare day off work (only because I need to go into uni and see a doctor for a checkup) so I'm going to walk the dog when I get back from uni. As well as my shred that day.

Sigh. Well I better get some study in so goodnight!
 
So I decided to weigh myself early (ie. this morning) and I was 83 kg. No change. Couple of things may be responsible for this:

1. I didn't keep an accurate track of the food I ate/ eating unhealthy snacks screwed me over
2. Didn't exercise enough (or I'm building muscle from the resistance parts?)
3. Eating dinner around 7.30/8 at night.

Things I'm going to change for next week:
1. Have more of my calories during the day and less at night. So, larger meals during the day.
2. Always have fruit near me to snack on when my stomach growls.
3. Incorporate more cardio work as well as the shred. (eg cross trainer/dog walk/zumba)
4. limit snacking on junk and drinking diet soda, even when it fits into my calorie plan.
5. stick to 1200-1400 cal a day
6. Increase uptake of water. Need to have 2L (not just hitting 1.5)
7. Be more consistant with the 30DS. EVERY DAY.

It's not so bad this week because I can see my hips when down a little bit but I'm vain and I want to see the numbers drop on the scale.

Other good news is that my brother allowed me to calculate his BMR and seems to be eating healthier again. I don't think he is exercising but at least he is eating better.

Also I increased my weights for 30DS. From 1.25 to 2.5. It's a bit hard and I had to change back to 1.25 from some of the exercises. I've finished day 5 of the shred though. 25 to gooooooooooo!
 
Okay, so it's been a busy couple of days and I have been naughty and haven't blogged.

I'm not going to bother about putting my food entries up for the weekend but in summary, Friday was good, Saturday I was naughty (cheat day but I ate when I was already full) and Sunday wasn't too bad. I took the dog for an hour walk on Friday then again for an hour on Sunday.

I have a new set of electric scales! They measure body weight, fat percentage, water percentage, muscle percentage and bone weight. I love how the little electrical impulses can tell all that. It's really great because I will be able to track my progress by my body fat too so I'm dropping weight the right way.

I just had a cupcake with icing which wasn't good. But it was a reward from our corporate manager for all the hard work we did for one of our accounts. I should have only eaten half or spread it out over a couple days but it was so cute and she handmade them. I should have taken a picture!

Anyway, I have Zumba tonight. I also need to continue with the shred. I also need to eat more for breakfast less for dinner. I'm going to prepare stuff from the night before and will attempt to wake up early so I have enough time to eat breakfast AND enjoy it.

I'm going to weight myself tomorrow morning for the group challenge and I'm hoping I've stayed at 81.5. I can weigh myself in lbs too so I don't have to convert anymore!

Also, for our mini challenge, I must drink 2.6L of water a day, or 3.5 bottles. Waaaaaa. I need to keep sipping all the time then. I have already drank 1 bottle, time to refill and get another one!
