So its been 1 month since the start of the challenge. I hope everyone has been deadlifting heavy weight and seeing continuous improvement toward their goals, both deadlifting and in everything else. As I mentioned in the challenge thread, we will have this thread for members of the challenge to talk about deadlifting, tips, offer support, and hold each other accountable. Here is the member list again with both starting weight and goal weights.

Awsome! How's it going everyone?

My deadlift progress was slow the first weeks of the comp. Now I don't know though, since I haven't deadlifted in a few weeks.

Deadlifting is the main focus of my 5x5 program I'm doing. My top end set was 185x5 for the first week, 195x5 for the second week, and next week I'll be doing 205x5. Before you know I should be repping my old max 235.

+ 10lbs but its going slow from there

Almost halfway to your goal, awesome.

Excellent jman, I am glad to see your steadily progressing in your deadlift.

I hit 340 (+5) right after the comp started. However then I went into a high rep program for 2 weeks, took 1 week off, and am going to deadlift today. Probably wont pull any singles, but triples for sure.

Lol, no although the first time I put the number in I had only just started doing deadlifts so I have progressed quickly from then, plus I think that a lot of it is in the mind.

i think i have already done more than that 300 tony. 2when i sent the e-mail and pics to you, did you keep track? Or should i go thru my log and post here again?

i will do it when i get back and post my run number.

i have to get th troll-nes off, so I am going running. i will posty in an hour and half or so,

20 rep squat significantly increased my deadlift. I'll find out how much soon. But I am going to be cutting from about now till the end of the competition. Might not make the cut. But I suppose I'll make it up to myself but losing in fat weight the amount of weight I should have gained on deadlift.

FF you're a beast. I'm pretty sure you just started pullin when you agreed to this competition. Maybe you should set your goal weight to 400 ya animal :)

Got 380 to my knees and lost it last week. My back was rounding like a mo-- it's going to be pretty tough breaking through 380 once I get it. How'd your pulling feel today, Tony?

Awsome! How's it going everyone?

hhhmmmmm. I have not done a deadlift since I got the lift for the number in this thread.

I think I will deadlift again in January. That will be a good time to see how progress is going.

I pretty much finished. Last time I checked my dead was 300. Then the most recent PL comp I got 340 so... but I'm not on there =]

GL people

I exceeded my goal, but I am totally new to this guys.

I got 315- 3 plates beeeeyacth!!! get me a drink already! hahahaa

So hey tony,,, let's up mine to 350.

Right now i am letting my lower back get it's confidence back ;)

Mine's up to 385 but I'm sure it could be higher. My ME pull day is after my ME push so I've not been attempting to max my deads.

Next week I'll swap the days over and test it again

I'm really excited to se how this cycling lifts training approach will affect my deadlift.
I got really high hopes, but I've never tried this before, so I guess I'll have to wait and see. And I have no idea when I'll be doing deadlifts again :p

I was able to get 400 on Monday. 20 more lbs to go. September was the first time i had done a deadlift, so I have had pretty fast gains so far. I am going to try 420 at the end of the month. With my current pace I should be able to get it by then.

Drex what are you a gymnast or cheerleader?

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by this, but no. I sit in front of a computer all day writing code.

I grew up working on the neighbors farm from age 13-20, which had me in very good shape. I then spent the next 9 or so years in front of a computer with no workout.

Cheerleaders are usually freakishly strong and they dont usually lift weights.
