DB Skull Crushers

When I do these, is it ok that the heads of the dumbells are touching, or do they need to be seperated?

Sup! Dry......What's a-happen brotha!

What's doing down.....

Put on you cap and GOWN, my friend, Rock-friggen-DOWN, slap that ugly face of the adversity CLOWN and lets go to TOWN

........on learning what DB Skull Crusher are,,,,,,,,,Alrighty then.....

LETS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!:)

Here's an "okay" video showing the form:

The main concern is to keep your arm from your elbow to the shoulder joint, straight (it does not move), and only bend at the elbow joint as you flex up and down with the movement pattern. Keep the dumbbells on the sides of your head as much as possible, and do not allow them to touch. The main thing is keeping your elbows stabilized (motionless) throughout the exercise.

Hope this assist you..........

Keep on rocken my friend.

Best wishes

Thanks Chillen man, I find it odd that with the dumbells you're encouraged to go beyond your head, while with the barbell you have to stop before your head, which would give you a limited range of motion... so why is the barbell skullcrusher more popular?

Anyway, I will try to separate my arms a bit. I believe my form is pretty good, I keep my upper arm 90 degrees perpendicular to my body the entire exercise, but separating the dumbell heads is what I was concerned about. Thanks for the advice.

I think with the barbell your forearms are twisted so going beyond your head puts extra unneeded tension on your forearm muscles, while with the dumbbells your forearms are straight

How many people have actually hit their head doing skull crushers?

I have ... many times. I definitely know why they are called "skull crushers" :D

Oh...oh.....oh...

I raise my hand high in the air.....

I have gotten far too many bumps, but this assists my "rock-on" pumps! So, I take these head thumps to prevent motivational dumps!

I have had a couple crack my skull on the last failing rep before....LOL

Be quiet...:)

Best wishes,
